Maybe light is a better player, but the gap isn't that big. I swear people in this community are way too obsessed about which character beats who and they completely forget that Smash is a PLAYER VS PLAYER game first and foremost and not just character vs character. A character is just a set of tools. some are good some bad. But it's the PLAYER that wields them. A bad matchup is NOT a guarantee that it's impossible. Every matchup is winnable with the right amount of skill and practice
nah ppl just overrate fox vs heavies. light has lost to bowser, ganon, kazuya. it's classic grappler v rushdown fox gets in easily but you don't want to get in against heavies you want to keep them out and fox lacks anti-approach tools.
In Ult, whenever you perform a directional airdodge, you move away from the direction you input for a very brief moment before actually moving in the direction you input. This actually matters offstage when you’re airdodging away from the blastzone, since that brief jerk backwards can actually kill you, where a double jump from most characters would not have the same result.
That commentary on the first 1:30 couldn’t have been more wrong. Chunky’s patience to not immediately attack while on ledge was immaculate. Not sure what they were seeing lol.
This is like +1 at best. I thought this sh*t was +2, but donkey kong advantage state is literally just as good as fox's. The only difference is the amount of time in advantage state, which ends in the stock anyway. Fox just edges out because he slightly wins neutral. But DK tilts close the gap a little

@@The_SOB_II Rivals of Aether is extremely well balanced and it has heavies making up a sizeable portion of its roster. I don't think there's an innate problem where they'll either be too good or weak, Nintendo just doesn't care that much to try and balance the game. Heavies aside it's embarrassing how much worse characters like Kirby, Zelda, Robin, Falco, Isabelle, etc. are compared to the top/high tiers.

It’s the sticky walk, if your dk Congo throw your opponent and go the ledge (left or right) and tilt ur controller slightly and when the opponent is off stage up b them and you can bair or dair them if they have a bad recovery.
Just proof that chunky made him work for it. It's not a good matchup for DK by any means, but it's actually surprisingly hard for Fox too. DK can just make Fox explode, particularly off-stage or on the ledge. I actually suspected this could be a tough draw for Light.
Can Fox shine the top of dk’s up b during all those off stage recoveries? I know he used bair a couple times but that seems like it’d be doable too…and safer. Especially if dk has no double jump

Last stock of game two chunkykong gave it away by inputting a dash after the punch. The fully charged monkey punch is -4 on shield so if he had shielded or mashed jab then light would’ve gotten hit and he could’ve gone on to take the game

Thats an easy reverse side B spike. It's -1 for DK. It's very doable
