It really feels like Scend/BN has leveled up his movement. Wavelanding/down air landing and the grab out of shield. It’s actually insane to watch.
Not only that, but its much more controlled it feels like. Not just fancy stuff, its all very deliberate.

Hard agree with this. One of my most played matchups is DK vs Ness and he can be a little closer, there were a few situations where he didn't do anything because of his patience when he could have pulled the trigger. IMO this matchup is even.

Yea, tbh he is too passive and takes free percentage. I've noticed over the years he has done this more where he sits around and goes for parry style points. It loses him matches a lot, and it has gotten old

Tap dancing in advantage and resetting to neutral immediately against ness as DK will go down as one of THE strategies of all time.

I love Chunk for bringing so much crunk to the monke but I have no idea why he’s so passive against Ness when Uair, Bair, and Fair are all good tools to punish Ness’ combo game’s bread to help win neautral. Also, why doesn’t CK use sideB or or up B on ground to pressure a shield break for free space or free shield break/poke

Just watching this I feel like things are incredibly oppressive. Can’t imagine how it feels actually piloting DK vs Scend. (Both of these guys are such great character specialists but it hurts to watch.)
The amount of times that CK had so many free Dair, grounded up B, and side B opportunities is so frustrating because he honestly seems to refuse them for some reason when they are optimal here when you want to keep Ness grounded since he wants to always be short hopping on stage or platform for combos

Why’s chunky playing so quirky?
Chunky made a lot of mistakes that I think really cost him the loss. The bair instead of up air wasn't optimal especially since he got the sour spot. And looks like he missed a lot of inputs when dropping through ledges that could have put ness off stage. Totally could have won the set

Boring how? I know boring. This Ness is at least smart. Chunky could have won if he wasn't so patient. It didn't help him. He could have pressured shield without getting punished and gone for earlier kills, but decided not to because he was waiting for a dumb option from BestNess (Chunky would still miss a punish, anyways)
@7inchjmed Ness is boring. It's literally just b button. Chunky is a better player just by winning a round in such a awful matchup.

@luzinluzin If Ness is boring, then Sonic must be fun to watch. Chunky isn't the best player, obviously. If he was, he would have won. He legit kept standing there waiting for an option and then got hit and he would wait for an option to punish and just whiffed...and got whiffed punished. Over extending a combo could have made him be in a better spot, but he did minimal damage. Really? Late dash attack and no back air afterwards? That's the best time to go for a combo, but he would rather wait and give BestNess stage control. When offstage, there were chances that Chunky had to recover back on stage safely, but would get hit with PK Thunder an infinite amount of times. Chunky got lucky getting one game. If he was having a bad day, I'd understand, but I know that's not his top peak performance. Don't try to compare Ness players from your region to BestNess. They don't compare. I was rooting for Chunky, but that was just bad.
@@7inchjmedI agree that Scend didn’t play this boring, but I don’t think Chunky played bad. He needs to play patient against Ness. One mistake and he could lose his stock or rack up 60% plus damage from pure disadvantage.

Not even close, ness is +5 on DK, that’s like one of Nesses easiest matchups. Chunky making it look even close shows that scend doesn’t have it
