What Aizen said to Rukia is about the war they had in the Arrancar arc. She got promoted for her good work and now Aizen is acknowledging that. It's more clear what he meant in the manga since they left out ONE LINE in the anime, one of my fav lines too so that's a shame.
First off Aizen was never Rukia's captain. Jushiro Ukitake captain of squad 13 was Rukia's captain and the old lieutenant of squad 13 was Kaien Shiba who was killed and taken over by Arroniero the 9th Espada. Aizen was Captain of squad 5 and his lieutenant was Momo the girl he just unnecessary used and stabbed through multiple times.
