Keep it strong Marine 💪. You will get through this and be better if in the end. Thanks to YOU! I have started my own farm on a small scale and my sales are just like yours. One thing I have done was reach out to my community shelter and give them what I can't use. At least recouping some loss from a donation & tax credit. Heads up and mushroom on!
TR, you've always been an inspiration to me. Keep your chin up, we'll get thru this. Good luck to you and post more content when you can. There are a ton of us who'd love to see more of your work.
Truth. Thank you TR. Going through it in philly as everywhere. thankfully we have some outlets and working with other local producers to make more. CSA-distributors have an incredible opportunity right now. In the long run I think it's going to be a positive for us who grow and make useful things. Which is a positive for the world. If you're someone who's thinking about farming, this is time away from the dayjob to start seriously planning your project, or stepping up and showing up to a farm and offering some real help. Right now, it's not so much hands on the farm (so long as we can stay healthy)- it's showing up with group of people excited to buy some good mushrooms. -mycopolitan
refreshing to see someone who appreciates an adverb - differently. I would buy spore from you. Got king stropharia spore? I'd like to grow it in my garden paths. (in Pa.)
My prayers to you and your team. I know its hard, but as leader you shouldn't turn your back on your team. I hope you can find a way to do things right for you and them. They are your biggest asset. Blessings.
Can you sell directly to the public? Or to small markets? The gourmet meat store in Bath, Ohio (The Farmers Rail) sells all sorts of gourmet stuff - mushrooms would be a great addition - but they are selling all the food as fast as they can pack it. With all the medicinal properties of mushrooms - people should be flocking to you. All the smaller farmers markets around here are jamming. Just a thought. I love mushrooms - wish you were closer - I would be a great customer.
The government here in California is over reacting. Public officials are panicking when they should be level headed. It's borderline martial law here, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's the next step. Never let a tragedy go to waste I guess. The fallout is going to be worse than the virus.
A deep recession is likely coming. Plan for it to last. The restaurant trade will likely be crippled (again) like in 2008. Hope you survive this financially. I didn't during the 2008 meltdown. Lost it all. Please re-plan and drop debts soon so you can restart in a few years.
@@MrWorstnameever Airlines And Wall Street are the only things worth saving, apparently. We've already spent $2.35 TRILLION on bailing out privately owned businesses. it makes you wonder why the taxpayer has to pay so much money to keep these people wealthy? And, not all of us are suffering. I'm doing quite well.
You were my primary inspiration to start growing mushrooms. Keep fighting, see you on the other side

My thoughts go out to you. I hope you can pull through whatever happens. Health wealth and happiness on the recovery.
Bad time, you will need all of your mental strength. You will bounce back and hopefully get your employees back on track.
Better than being locked down on base though, amirite?

I feel you. You have to try to find another way to sell. Think outside the rules. The government effed us up.

Some mushrooms have better medicinals properties than others. Reshi and shiitake both have medicinal properties, but reshi is better
