USC should keep trying to be independent, not sure if USC would have gotten the kind of money as joining a conference but at least USC doesn't have to deal with the BS that comes from each conference, I was hoping USC went independent several years back, got tired of the bonehead treatment USC got from PAC12 officials, those same officials destroyed the PAC12. USC got out of one BS conference to jump into another BS conference. 🤔✌️✌️

Not trying to sound too critical but no one was knocking down Gavin's door for his services.---That is the main reason why. He's a depth piece with experience who could play more.
Jamil Muhammad is overrated in my opinion, maybe he can thrive in the new scheme but he feasted on inferior teams and disappeared against the better ones. While landing Pettijohn certainly would be a big get and a step in the right direction we cannot be satisfied with just one LB and think it’ll solve all our problems there.
THATS EXACTLY what happened when we landed Tackett and didnt sign anyone else and our casual delusional fanbase said we didnt need anymore lb’s and we had the best one in the nation.
We have so little long term depth at so many positions of need. We must attack recruiting and land MULTIPLE players along the trenches and at LB. We need to build a foundation of kids who will develop, learn and know the system and therefore teach the next cycle of recruits the system. We cannot keep relying on transfers that dont know the system to come in and make an impact. That is not how powerhouses are built.
Pettijohn would be a major win but we must continue to attack the position. I dont trust Lincoln at all but keeping my fingers crossed that he the defensive coaches will continue to recruit the position
