Robin James if I have to be honest as of right now, I am more of a fan of clays than waxes because with clays you are able to re work that style and plus they happen to work for my hair type which is thick and straight . And it should definitely have a matte finish.
Every time my interest for hair products and styling spikes again, I always come back to you. You're entertaining, engaging, but more importantly, short but concise. Thank you!
I used the styling clay for a good few months. I enjoyed using it and overall, it was decent. But a few niggles such as the synthetic scent and the crispy texture it forms made me switch to a much higher quality product
I'm definitely a clay guy. Just curious. Would you be up for doing a video dedicated to hairdryers and how to use them effectively? (different temperatures, speed, technique, prep treatments etc.) I've been subscribed for quite a while and your videos have really helped me develop my style and made me realise that I shouldn't feel ashamed or less manly just because I use conditioner, moisturiser, a hair dryer, like shopping for clothes etc. etc. For a guy who just turned 21, your tips & advice have really been invaluable. Cheers Robin! (my real name is Stef Vanhees btw, it's a Belgian name) ;)
may I ask which moisturiser do you use? I have been searching for one but couldnt find a one with good review. My hair is soo dry and want to find a solution for dryness. Thanks!
Toni and guy clay was actually my first serious hair styling product still have it on my shelf. I'm more of a clay guy because of texture and hold. Blumaan cavalier clay for life 😂 hope you well robin. Fellow fan from Northamptonshire
I guess it depends on the product, too. I have thick hair and I tried using the got2b texturizing clay which is just horrible. Has little hold and makes the hair very stiff, hard to comb and style.
I dreamed of that sleek hair finish that celebrities have. The finishing gel stick by liittllextra neatfix is nice. It doesn’t leave any residue and has a scent that’s nice and natural. It’s non-sticky and never feels oily. I highly recommend it. And yes, it has rosemary too!
I've never really cared about my buzzcut hair, now I'm growing it more and will be trying to get some g-eazy like look, slicked to the back, the problem is my job requires me to have a cap on all the time. What hair product would you reccomend then so that after 8 hours of work my hair wouldn't look like I didn't wash my hair for a week?
I quite like Truefitt & Hill’s Clay. It had a nice scent, and holds pretty well, especially for someone with wavy/curly hair, such as myself. (Also, made in the UK 🇬🇧)
Great video.. i want to ask one question that is ur hairs are straight silky but how to apply hair wax to hair which is fine wavy.. every type of product is stucking inside hairs
Not that related to the video, but I listened to your hair tips video and why your hair isn't staying up video, and after evenly applying the product to my hair it stood up for a day and a half. All I used was tresemme mousse and American crew fiber, and it felt that there wasn't any product in my hair at all too.
Whats the best pre-styler i can buy that goes well with a clay? I went to a local hair shop and they had never heard of any good pre-stylers so im kind of at a loss
I have a bad fringe that just wont do what its told not matter if I use clay or wax. I always think clay is a more natural product and the healthiest option for styling hair
Hey Robin, I've recently got an awful haircut from a highstreet barber, hardly any length on top now. Where do you get your haircut and how much do you pay for it?
I use Mr Pompadour Clay and I like it, though I'll admit it's more of a creamy clay than traditional (I have fine hair so creamy clay is much better than hard). Never tried wax but Gold Digger is on my list.
Not only were you informative but the video itself, the looks of yours on the street etc, really made your point as to the difference between the products. Well done!
Great video!! Thanks so much for your a full breakdown of Clay vs Wax really appreciate it. Straight to the point, v.informative. You've answered all my questions.
i have a thick hair, not that long not that short, and trimmed sides. just look on my pic. thats it. I am very active. i mean i sweat a lot and my hair just got out in place. what product should i use? a wax? a clay? i want it to be in place all day. i want a non comedogenic if possible. thanks!
hey robin! in the case of waxes or other products that are hard to wash off, what products do you recommend to help get them completely off the hair without damaging it? I'm always afraid of getting very strong shampoos and stuff like that cause those are quite damaging to the hair, right? Is there something that can be used to remove stuff without ruining the hair? Thanks!
I really love your hair style, but I'm struggling to explain it to my stylist. Could you produce or do you already have a video explains your cut? Thanks
Hey Robin great video as usual. Do you have an opinion on hair straightening treatments like keratin, cysteine, or Brazilian blowout? I know you don't have to worries about it lol but I've been thinking about it because I have really wavy fluffy hair, though I'm worried about the ingredients list.
no matter what video you do it is always informative the hubs always goes to your videos and I so I can see what works best for our son who is 6 and we use a lot of pomades. any recommendations for dandruff, clay or wax? oh, and thank you for the recommendations on the scents from my last comment.😀 keep up the good work you style god! 🤘
Jocelyn Loch How lovely, thanks Jocelyn. It's good to deal with the dandruff first before styling. Look for an anti-dandruff shampoo. But you'd also be better with clay to help the scalp breathe.
Hi Robin, what can I do to straighten my semi-curls. Those mild curls pisses me off. Hair just keeps turning in the wrong angle. I am using the following for prep/products: Mousse w/hair dryer, big volume powder and sea salt spray
Can you give your blumaan pomade , blumaan styling meraki and Pete Pedro clay as I don't see you using these and I want to try these, you used one will also work for
from the hair down, hm... i allways style my hair at last right before i go out , but seriously styling your hair first - how do you put your clothes on and so on? i cant imagine it ...ANd yes answering your guestion Wax , waterbase :)
Hey Robin I was going to pick up some sea salt spray at my local drugstore, but when I was looking through the ingredients I noticed that there was alcohol. Is it common to find alcohol in sea salt spray? I was told that generally the lesser quality products tend to have alcohol, do you know if this true?
I totally understand what you mean but, unfortunately i live in bangladesh(it's basically one-third inside india) where there aren't many choices(hanz de fuko,by villain, etc.) 😢and the prices are like 2x its original price. so any suggestion along those lines would be appreciated!🙂
Robin James can you tell me the best clay for my hair? My hair is thin and I used a product named Sebastian matte putty and it lasted only barely a few hours.
the thing about waxes is that a lot of products selled under the wax flag do different things, sure clays are also guilty of that but not at the level of waxes.
What about you - are you a clay or wax fan?
Robin James After watching your informative video, I would definitely go with clay because that suits my hair type the best.. 😀
Robin James if I have to be honest as of right now, I am more of a fan of clays than waxes because with clays you are able to re work that style and plus they happen to work for my hair type which is thick and straight . And it should definitely have a matte finish.
Clay just because of their hold and reworkability. The wax just doesn't Give me enough hold
Robin to be honest...
I use clay every day!!
Za1nny 123 Same! I Use Claymation By Hanz De Fuko, Probably The Best Hair Clay $20 Will Get You...
That stache looking on fleek Robin. As for me, I like Clay better for my wavy hair.
AJ 佐罗 Thanks AJ. I'm also a huge clay fan!
@@ManForHimself samee i like all hair products but i dont have money to buy it hahhahahahaha🤣🤣
This guy looks like a bloke from peaky blinders
Every time my interest for hair products and styling spikes again, I always come back to you. You're entertaining, engaging, but more importantly, short but concise. Thank you!
ROBIN, I looked at your hair and had to decrease the VOLUME on my phone
CircuitsMadeEasy LOVE this. 😂
CircuitsMadeEasy Also, this joke is funny. The Batman one isn't.
Robin James äääää
I used the styling clay for a good few months. I enjoyed using it and overall, it was decent. But a few niggles such as the synthetic scent and the crispy texture it forms made me switch to a much higher quality product
Saf Hury It's good that you tried it. What do you now use?
Robin James I use the Aveda Men's Grooming Clay
I'm definitely a clay guy.
Just curious. Would you be up for doing a video dedicated to hairdryers and how to use them effectively? (different temperatures, speed, technique, prep treatments etc.)
I've been subscribed for quite a while and your videos have really helped me develop my style and made me realise that I shouldn't feel ashamed or less manly just because I use conditioner, moisturiser, a hair dryer, like shopping for clothes etc. etc.
For a guy who just turned 21, your tips & advice have really been invaluable. Cheers Robin!
(my real name is Stef Vanhees btw, it's a Belgian name) ;)
Henkie Thanks Stef! A lovely message. Yes, would love to do more on hairdryers. Let me work it out.
So glad my videos have helped you. 🙏🏼
Henkie awsome comment dude
may I ask which moisturiser do you use? I have been searching for one but couldnt find a one with good review. My hair is soo dry and want to find a solution for dryness. Thanks!
Toni and guy clay was actually my first serious hair styling product still have it on my shelf. I'm more of a clay guy because of texture and hold. Blumaan cavalier clay for life 😂 hope you well robin. Fellow fan from Northamptonshire
Bindis Dave Thanks Bindis. All about the clay! 🙏🏼
what products are you using now>
I guess it depends on the product, too. I have thick hair and I tried using the got2b texturizing clay which is just horrible. Has little hold and makes the hair very stiff, hard to comb and style.
I was thinking of more of a messy style which one should I use, or would there be some other alternative?
Wax is the best choice for messy hairstyles
I dreamed of that sleek hair finish that celebrities have. The finishing gel stick by liittllextra neatfix is nice. It doesn’t leave any residue and has a scent that’s nice and natural. It’s non-sticky and never feels oily. I highly recommend it. And yes, it has rosemary too!
Glad you can put the effort into putting a disclaimer in the title unlike most
Alex Gage Thanks Alex. Needs to be done.
Excellent vid as always. And that mustache is looking extra fresh in this! 👌🏻🔥
I love how all your videos are so easy to watch, sounds kinda weird but yeah keep it up :)
milo Thank you.
Thanks Robin. I finally know what's different of Clay & Wax.
I absolutely love the proffesionalism in your videos! Great job!!
FURY GAMING Thank you 👌🏼🙏🏼
Robin , does waterbased product instantly falls if we sweat heavily?
MAN FOR HIMSELF is changing to an international brand
Is it okay to apply clay as a pre style and finish with wax spray?
Some of you guys doing it and can verify that it will help?
I am a weird specimen because I actually use clay or a paste for a slick back with volume in the front, I love it
Wax - Formal
Clay - Casual
I quite like Truefitt & Hill’s Clay. It had a nice scent, and holds pretty well, especially for someone with wavy/curly hair, such as myself.
(Also, made in the UK 🇬🇧)
Great video again Robin ... I always use clay, with me having thick hair and a lot of it, it makes my hair more manageable.
David Harkess I'm generally a clay guy too.
thanks this has allowed me to find which product is better.
Archie Bartlett Glad it helped.
Great video.. i want to ask one question that is ur hairs are straight silky but how to apply hair wax to hair which is fine wavy.. every type of product is stucking inside hairs
I always prefer hair clay because of the hold and texture. But you look great when you used both products.
"look at the ingredients" second ingredient: petroleum
any suggestions on hair pins for men... make a video on it please..
Brilliant video man great job .wat is best to use for short hair. wax paste or putty for a matt finish look with added texture for every day use .
Would you ever use definition gel before putting clay in ur hair??
Not that related to the video, but I listened to your hair tips video and why your hair isn't staying up video, and after evenly applying the product to my hair it stood up for a day and a half. All I used was tresemme mousse and American crew fiber, and it felt that there wasn't any product in my hair at all too.
I personally love both since I have a Slick Back Haircut, Caviler Clay and a bunch of wax based pomades.
Omg Its Zayy Good to mix it up, for sure.
Whats the best pre-styler i can buy that goes well with a clay? I went to a local hair shop and they had never heard of any good pre-stylers so im kind of at a loss
SwagaliciousFishing Hey, I use a sea salt spray in the video. But a mousse or Thickening Tonic would also work. 👌🏼
Clay is more suitable for casual outfits that needs volume in hair whereas wax is for formal outfits where the hair would be shiny and slick.
For going formal wouldn't pomade be much better?
What is the best if you have thick hair?
Which of them hold better the hair. Wax, clay or cream ???
Thanks for the informative video... Lately I was wondering which to choose, clay or wax...
Manish Mohan Thanks Manish. Hope it helped you.
What should I use for stop hair fall and make my hare more healthy?
I use totex clay (YELLOW) and my hair is thick.
Hii, do you recommend me to use a pre styler?
I have a bad fringe that just wont do what its told not matter if I use clay or wax. I always think clay is a more natural product and the healthiest option for styling hair
Hey uhm this video is great but i need help bcs my hair is very thin and straight so which product is better for me?
In your opinion whats the best overall clay out there for the price? (USA)
Traxus Good you've found a product that suits you. 👌🏼
That velvet blazer though!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Daniel Camacho It's a full suit! Pretty major!
Robin James 😻😻😻
Please do some more reviews on some homebrewed products, like the brand battle between Arcadian Clay vs Flagship Clay
Lukas Jankovic Definitely want to do more.
please please please make a video for blu maan new clay (the orange one) as it's used for more thinner hair.. thankyou so much.
Not only were you informative but the video itself, the looks of yours on the street etc, really made your point as to the difference between the products. Well done!
My lord and saviour!! 😂 been searching for hours for a new product and I’ve just finally found your video, so helpful thank you!
You are not obeying the 2nd commandment and you should always capitalized any words about God like
Jesus
God
Lord
Amen
robin does having fine hair goes to tat it we can see through our hair into scalp??
Ive been using Toni&Guy clay but it doesnt seem to have much hold.
Great video!! Thanks so much for your a full breakdown of Clay vs Wax really appreciate it. Straight to the point, v.informative. You've answered all my questions.
i have a thick hair, not that long not that short, and trimmed sides. just look on my pic. thats it. I am very active. i mean i sweat a lot and my hair just got out in place. what product should i use? a wax? a clay? i want it to be in place all day.
i want a non comedogenic if possible.
thanks!
Which blowdrier do u use ??
Hi Robin! Love the Channel. Do you normally use sea salt spray and thinking tonic or sea salt spray as a thickening tonic? Thanks?
What hair dryer is that?
Hey love ur videos. Is morrocol oil texture clay really worth it.
Can we use clay for medium long crew cut with wavy to style it to be messy?
What if you got fine hair but alot of them? Wax or clay?
hey robin! in the case of waxes or other products that are hard to wash off, what products do you recommend to help get them completely off the hair without damaging it? I'm always afraid of getting very strong shampoos and stuff like that cause those are quite damaging to the hair, right? Is there something that can be used to remove stuff without ruining the hair? Thanks!
Debora A Hey Debora, im still using Nioxin but a good clarifying shampoo should help. What do you use now?
I really love your hair style, but I'm struggling to explain it to my stylist. Could you produce or do you already have a video explains your cut? Thanks
Erik Shirk Hey - my last haircut will explain. All info in the description.
Communist dog

King Caesar It depends what you want - texture?
Robin James yeah
What is a pre-styler? You didn't say.
Your videos are very informative and unbiased. Glad i subscribed
Hi Robin. Are products like HDF quicksand and Byvilain gold digger, silverfox, etc considered clay or wax ?
Viet Anh What does it say on the tin?
Hey Robin great video as usual. Do you have an opinion on hair straightening treatments like keratin, cysteine, or Brazilian blowout? I know you don't have to worries about it lol but I've been thinking about it because I have really wavy fluffy hair, though I'm worried about the ingredients list.
max silbert Hey Max, it would be great to do a video on this. Might take a while.
Cool!
I don't need wax for my head is already shiny since I am bald, I think clay would be fine then
Good choice
Watching your videos since morning its like i am stuck on your channel !!! Superb content and presentation!!!!
Keep it up man !!!!!
no matter what video you do it is always informative the hubs always goes to your videos and I so I can see what works best for our son who is 6 and we use a lot of pomades. any recommendations for dandruff, clay or wax? oh, and thank you for the recommendations on the scents from my last comment.😀 keep up the good work you style god! 🤘
Jocelyn Loch How lovely, thanks Jocelyn. It's good to deal with the dandruff first before styling. Look for an anti-dandruff shampoo.
But you'd also be better with clay to help the scalp breathe.
Hey Robin, would you recommend the clay in the video over VO5 or Fish clay ?
I've been using the Toni & Guy moulding clay since your last Toni & Guy video and I love it!
Christopher Woods Glad it's working out for you. Have you tried their other products?
Robin James yes.!Using the sea salt spray also and I'm loving it!
What clay would u recommend for fine hair?
Jacob N The one from the video is a great high street/budget product.
Others I like are Apothecary 87, Daimon Barber and Lockharts.
I sweat easy with one is better to hold my hair in styll then ?
Hi Robin, what can I do to straighten my semi-curls. Those mild curls pisses me off. Hair just keeps turning in the wrong angle.
I am using the following for prep/products:
Mousse w/hair dryer, big volume powder and sea salt spray
Rahm Menon Hey Rahm, maybe you need to grow it out a little. Will allow you to control it better.
Thanks for the speedy reply. The front hair length is about 4.5 inches. Do you think I should try out some straightening serum?
Very informative, thank you!
Halo_ Thank you!
Is clay healthy for hair or not
hi Robin, Any plans to have a video created on men's face wash/scrub (do's and don'ts)? Face needs some love too :D
Do you think Baxter of California ClayPomade is a good product?
Caleb Choi Hey! I quite like their clay. Not my favourite.
150,000 + Subs Congratulations Robin !!!! Keep Moving
Vishnu Darshan Thanks so much, Vishnu.
How do you blow dry your hair, I cant get mine to go how I want it
what i use?
Honestly I mix both every time
i would like the clay to have the wax shine.
Can you give your blumaan pomade , blumaan styling meraki and Pete Pedro clay as I don't see you using these and I want to try these, you used one will also work for
I love clay and putty for my thin hair
from the hair down, hm... i allways style my hair at last right before i go out , but seriously styling your hair first - how do you put your clothes on and so on? i cant imagine it ...ANd yes answering your guestion Wax , waterbase :)
Waldo Took over a year but found you bitch.
Hey Robin I was going to pick up some sea salt spray at my local drugstore, but when I was looking through the ingredients I noticed that there was alcohol. Is it common to find alcohol in sea salt spray? I was told that generally the lesser quality products tend to have alcohol, do you know if this true?
See Billy Run Hey, yes, that tends to be true. Most hair products have alcohol in them. Good that you're looking in the ingredients.
Hey Robin great video mate! Quick question : I have fine(not thin-ing) wavy hairs, which one should I buy first, original by blumaan or hybrid clay! 👍😊
Qazi Rabbi Does it have to be one of them?
I totally understand what you mean but, unfortunately i live in bangladesh(it's basically one-third inside india) where there aren't many choices(hanz de fuko,by villain, etc.) 😢and the prices are like 2x its original price. so any suggestion along those lines would be appreciated!🙂
I would really appreciate another brand battle. Pls do By Vilain Night Fiber vs Carter Supply Hard cream Pomade. I really need the comparison
I use Vo5 extreme hold and it still doesn't hold my hair down
Always clay , because the weather in my place is tropical, if it is wax it will collapses, however, thank for informative .
Hiệp Hoàng Great reasoning!
Will the Hybrid by BluMaan review be on sunday?
Lukas Jankovic Hey, no it won't. When I get to it, you'll know about it.
I'm also waiting for this since Hybrid by Blumaan claims to be a clay for thin hair, and Robin has thin hair.
What about oil?
robin,my hairs falling out whenever I'm using any hairproduct.any suggestions regarding that?
faiaz rafid Hey Faiaz. Sorry to hear this. Have you been to see a doctor?
Robin James no I haven't 😦
i am doubt about got2 b wax or got2 b spray which is better to freeze u r hair plzz recommend me .i want some suggestions
Kishore kumar You would use the wax and then spray.
Robin James and another doubt clay or wax which can hold the hair better 🤔
Robin James ty for reply ✌️
I want to use clay products or cream cause I want movement and also grip on my hair when I style it.
