Have plans to modify a cooler in a similar way. Going to use a cheap cpu AIO cooler akasa 3,5" fan controller Akasa 80W DC/DC power supply. Because fan controller has 3 edjustments can control fans, pump and peltier separately. Parts cost about 100€ Inside the fridge going to use the original heatsink cut down to size and a laptop fan to blow air through the heatsink. This way the cold air will circulate and cool the fridge faster.
Could also use something like raspberry pi zero or arduino, instead of the manual fan controller. You can monitor the inside temperature of the fridge with those and have it turn off when its cold enough. And turn back on when needed. This would lower the power consumption even more
I made similar system, but peltier start heating instead of cooling, after ten minutes. Why so ?? I.e. it gives excellent cooling till ten minutes. Then suddenly start heating Any answers

You need a bigger heat sink or more active cooling on the hot side.
