Actually no model kit can surpass human's articulation, we got face movement, tongue, toes, even our fingers can be crossed, our backbone alone has more than 30 articulating points, etc. Even the most advanced kit can't do some basic yoga pose, that's how far it is.
I'm right on time! 1) The clear areas are an interesting choice perfect for a well-placed LED. 2) The Forearm movement is clever and appears seamless 3) Opening hatches are always welcome. 4) Overall this PV has really has boosted my interest in the kit the only issue I have is, the wait.
I like how Bandai is experimenting with additional articulation and various open-hatch gimmicks to show off all that gold. The true centerpiece for this kit is the inner frame, rather than just slapping electroplated gold on it and calling it a day.
SEED is still no 2 of most popular Gundam series in Japan (Below OG and over 00) so rest assured there'd be newer iterations of their gundams for years to come.

you know what I find interesting in the time since the release of the MGEX Unicorn we haven't gotten ANY form of- add-on or recolor or anything for it no clear version no Banshee no Phenex nothing like _maybe_ it has something to do with how absolutely expensive it was for an MG, but I dunno, that doesn't bode well for the MGEX Strike getting any such after-release additions, if this is gonna be the trend for MGEXs
I have the SF FBM for years and it IS something else. But this one.... the proportions and gimmicks, the design, the engineering behind it are AWESOME! I'm Hyped AF.
Love that it’s similar to the pg unleashed layered inner gram, I think mgex is the greatest line since it’s a 1:100 scale perfect grade essentially. And I don’t mind the price considering the greatness of the kit
As a person who was never really a fan of the Strike Freedom Gundam, this has turned me around. The gold peeking out from everywhere just looks amazing. This might be a kit I actually DON"T paint.
That's what I'm thinking too! I'm trying to ascend beyond just "assemble the kit and call it done" and want to get into painting and panel lining. If anything, I may just do panel lining on this beauty. Being an artist too, who works with pen and ink with a fuck ton of cross hatching, the mere thought of lining each panel by hand feels euphoric.
okay, I saw the price and I can confidently say it's worth it... I don't mind paying a bit more than a regular MG kit for that sweet extra details and gimmicks right out of the box, and the articulations seems top notch

MGEX has both of my top two favorite gundams of all time. My favorite Gundam in the whole entire franchise, the ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam. My 2nd favorite Gundam is the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam I currently own and fully built the MGEX unicorn gundam with all of its glory, with the exception for the full armor parts I need the MGEX Strike Freedom in my inventory.

Man just looking at this thing it reminds me a bit of the Perfect Grade Strike Freedom Gundam model with all those parts and everything and the fact it looks so badass.
Minus (almost all) of the terrible injection gold and giant banana feet. This thing really is a proper adaptation of the almost 300 dollar MB version in model kit form.
Cheaper than how I predicted the price will be at $180 USD. Day one preorder for sure. And definitely getting two cause I want to display the inner frame.
Could possibly cost less if you can buy direct from Japan due to the Yen currently being low. And I wouldn't be surprised if they released a Clear version in the future.

does want to check it out, with those articulation wonder if the coated parts will have the paint scratch off, since we usually paint our builds that leads thicken parts area and it might have a chance to scratch off those gold costing just like the plated/titanium that we have now. saw some weak joints design too will see how this goes, at least now there's more led to be add compare to the previous release. but dam drilling holes on this gold costed inner frame? mamma Mia
i just hope that hip joint won't bring any bad issues like what we get from the MG Freedom 2.0, MG Justice, MG Providence and MG Eclipse 👀.... other than that it's gonna be a beautiful center piece 👍
I'm really wondering if this version will be based on the (kinda newer) MG Freedom 2.0 inner frame or just a more detailed inner frame from the original 2006 MG Strike Freedom, which wasn't bad either. I think though, most of the inner frame is still going to be several different shades of the same injection gold, with only a few parts being chromed gold and like the gold parts from the RG Hi Nu Gundam, if you want it too look really good you'll probably have to paint it. The opening armor parts and clear red accents are great way to still see some of that gold... I really like this version and even though my original MG Strike Freedom is holding up great, I'm definitely going to be looking everywhere I can to pick this one up, as soon as possible... I wish I could wait until the clear version but I don't think at this price I'll be getting both... but it would be about the only clear kit I'd ever even consider getting.... LOL
You can see on the promotion website on which part they put the gold chroming, which part they will have gold injection, and which part will have metal etching. Also just looking at the proportion, they probably create complete new mold for this. Maybe they re-use the Super Dragoon’s? And part of the rifles and Super Lacerta hips railgun? But it should be entirely new for the main body itself just from the added joints

This model kit has more articulation than my entire body.
That's normal for robot kits though. For example, your head & limbs can't rotate 360 but most modern kits can 😅.
