Wow love the transparency and i love how you guys didn’t make it dramatic. Some people will switch up the whole car and platform because something breaks and some people know they’re pushing things to the limit 🙏

Mike!!!! I had no idea you had a channel. Guys, Mike is a legend. Ive worked with him on my turbo z3M coupe for 15 years. I've never met him in person, only over phone. I have many many parts of my car he developed and fabricated. Including an amazing twin scroll tubular manifold for the s52. I'd trust anything to this guy. He is no nonsense, no bs, and 100% authentic and does the right thing. So glad to see you in the game again on the new bmw platforms.
Wow true professionals. Thank you for showing how difficult it can be sometimes. We only get to see the finished product most times. Thank you for being transparent.
Savage transparency, much appreciated you guys sharing your unbelievable journey also when the shit hits the fan. Looking forward where this is going to end, but with 1MW atw already in the pocket, I think the goals have been set ! Subscribed!
Any reason not to run a upgraded Water to Air intercooler and maybe an interchiller system? Is it to keep it simple to have less weight, less complexity and less things to go wrong? Love the color and performance. 👍👍
Arent you supposed to give it air to the front end with a big ass fan or something while on the dyno? I would think cooling it down might help it not explode....idk just spitballing
Congratulations my friends... like big boys we don't have time to cry we just have time to build a MF engine again we need to go to a track and do it again
My question may be found in other videos, but you mentioned it was “built” before the engine left earth… was the bottom end built or factory when it blew?
if those are built motors and ported heads then why does the motor still make its peak power at the same rpm a stock motor does? is it because of the cams/timing that make better airflow at low rpms or why did you try to make all that power at such low rpms? wouldn't revving it higher and having less combustion pressure be better for making power?
For high horsepower higher rpm is much better to make safe power, as torque kills engines not rpm. Well rpm does kill an engine if you rev it past the limiter.
@@2seep exactly my point. when trying to make that much hp the torque is so insane at stock rpm's that it kills the motor. it seems like it would be better to port it for higher rpm, cam it for higher rpm, new valve springs, and do some simple mods to at least reach slightly high rpm. then your motor can make the same torque it already does but with a higher rpm your hp is proportionally higher too.
@@2seep this isnt exactly true. it doesnt matter whether a motor is undersquare, oversquare, square, all that does it change the rpm range the motor is likely to run best at. its torque characteristics throughout the rev range are based much more on other engineering than the square style of the motor. so this motor being undersquare is more likely to run naturally at lower rpm's (which we see with its sub 7k rpm redline) but it doesnt mean its immune to high rpm mods. adding a cam, new valve springs, and some porting can allow any motor to naturally breathe at higher rpm's compare to stock.
The 0Fkgvn mentality is insane man, just giving the S58 stock block all the beans it can have. That alone made many supercars go off and cry in a corner so bad

@@Jamxknife i was thinking about this, this is the rods who go away in the video ? If im not mistaken but yeah aluminium rods is way stronger than Steel rods
@@clement2438 Not necessarily stronger, but they’re lighter, and they absorb more shock. So they extend bearing life and mitigate rod/crank failure. You usually wanna run them at around 250-300hp per cylinder. Which is what these guys are at.
@@2seep It’s a 1600-1700bhp race car and you’re talking about rebuilding? You can’t have a car like this at this power level without aluminum rods, this is literally proof.
Psi isn’t a good metric. A small turbine pushing 18 psi will produce far less power then a big one running the same psi. What you should ask is what is the air density.
@EDSONFLAUSINOJUNIOR Yeah I watched it a few times actually. I'm asking because he stated the turbos in the beginning and then they made a bunch of changes to the car. Just confirming if they decided to change anything with the turbos as well.

So in other words, the S58 limit is 1300whp without nitrous 😅
Et le b58 ?
@lavazza8031 he literally said S58 in the video.
No because Mikey doesn’t have nitrous or rktunes
It’s crazy how much more power they make now only 7 months later
That intercooler setup is it 😮
🥵🥵

atleast it happened on the dyno and not on the track

Turn the boost up later in rpm. it will help it live.
You push the turbo past its efficiency range. Detonation becomes much more likely. It’s just the downside of an undersquare engine.

What's involved with a retorque on stretch bolts? Or are they studs
Custom age 625 head studs and cut ring head gasket. When you run this combo and the fire wants out it will make a path one way or another.
