Thanks for checking out the game. Great points made in the video too.
You do get re-rolls, you unlock those in the metagame, along with new starters etc.
Can't wait to get the game out into Early Access, we really look forward to making this the best it can be.
@@jakehopgood7446 No. We have not paid for any coverage. Not against it in principle, but really prefer just sending it to people and they play it if they like it or at least find it interesting.
I think it's a really cool concept, I never thought about putting RTS and roguelike together but it seems to work really nice from what I can see. Keep up the good work!
Can't wait for it, it looks amazing!
@@feneq_games fair enough, thanks and good luck
To bad U went cheap on graphics and it looks worse than games 30 years ago ;/
I didn't even know RTS and roguelike were compatible genres
Anything can be roguelike.
Deck building + RTS 😍 /s
@@Fullspectrumlyone can hope.
As long as it PvE it can be a roguelike
I don't think anyone even knows that Rogue was a game anymore...
Watching this channel is like doing drugs. I wanna stop but I cant. You keep throwing me amazing games that I cant keep up.
I somehow keep finding myself watching this channel on one screen while playing a game I found through this channel on the other screen...
if you did drugs, you'd stop watching the channel.
something to consider.
You levelled up
1 - this channel gets addiction +1
2 - you re procrastinating
Drugs +10
3 - continue watching, 3 videos from this get a random buff
😂😂
As a former Nuclear Electrician, nuclear waste is very boring. It's literally just irradiated water and metal rods. No glowing, no sparky sparky, no nothing. Totally mundane.
All building are orbitally (and violently) dropped.
Here's a couple newer RTS's I know about if your interested.
StormGate (new Free 2 Play RTS by IceGiant studios) made by some of the same team that made StarCraft2
ZeroSpace (Scarlett, our Zerg queen (from Pro SC2 Tournaments) is head of Balence on the project)
The creators of SupCom 1 & 2, & Planatary Annihilation are making a new game called Industrial Annihilation, which looks to be somewhat similar to Dyson Sphere Project, in how you mine ores to create products that you send to factories to build units to supply the war effort.
There's also Zero K, which feels more like the original Total Annihilation (1995) than Supcom, but with newer graphics. Another is Rusted Warfare, which is on PC as well as android (not sure about iOS), it's my goto game on my samsung tablet.
It looks like the main hub became vulnerable as soon as there was no units around it but you were walking away at that moment. There was little laser lines suggesting this as well. I played the demo before as well, fun concept but was a little bar bones back then. I look forward to this game
Supreme Commander is by far the #1 RTS ever in my book, you got my attention fast. :)
"Buffs are just panic buttons for me." Never related so hard before.
Want RTS? Play Beyond All Reason. Open source, costs nothing, absolutely fantastic game. Strongly reminiscent of Total Annihilation, the spiritual predecessor of Supreme Commander.
EDIT: I played the demo for this game. It's pretty neat. Could use some better controls, though. I wish I could select a unit and hit Ctrl+A to select all units on the map of the same type. Just something like adding a bunch of units back at your base to the control group you've got at the front line isn't immediately obvious. Can I add factories to a control group so everything they produce is added to that group automatically? Stuff like that would be great.
Basically, I've been spoiled by the flexibility of the BAR controls, and nothing else really compares.
pressing tab selects all factories
double clicking a unit selects all units of the type on screen
Pressing f2 selects all military units
pressing space slows down the game to allow more micro
@@Forgetthereality "double clicking a unit selects all units of the type on screen"
Does this drop the previous selection? I'm pretty sure it does.
There doesn't seem to be a "select all units of a certain type on the map" or any sort of auto-grouping functionality.
I do love the time-slowing option.
Nuclear (and also waste) have nothing t do with green color (blue if anything) :)
Also, most normal nuclear waste (like spent fuel) is solid material usually placed in melted glass, inside lead, steel and concentrate cask. Boring as f*ck but you can hug it.
Cherenkov radiation is so pretty!
comment for the comment god
excellent idea for a RTS with something new. With stuff like 9 bit armies, age of mythology remake, this and sins of a solar empire 2, i'm loving the revival of a mostly dead genre
Beyond All Reason ^^
I think it would be neat if the new units/upgrades happened in the RTS part of the game. Like, if I am an aggressive army, I have to beat enemies to collect scrap and that scrap gives me new unit schematics and upgrades. Or I could be an economic civ, and while mining I can gain upgrades to pick from. But if the RTS portion was longer and overlapped all the run progression stuff, I think that could be neat.
i'm afraid just from the intro, i'm addicted to supreme commander since too many years.
Planetary Annihilation had something like this. After a battle on a map you would get to choose between like 3 different techs to either improve or unlock something.
No Nuclear Waste is not interesting. Its just a non glowing mass of various radioactive products (such as gloves and other materials) stored in an amazingly strong container
More to it than that but just check out Kyle Hill for a better explanation for what it looks like/is
Splat PLEASE don't leave us. Listening to your videos is an integral part of my day.I wish you all the best and support any decision you feel is best for you. However I can't imagine a world without you 💔
simp ?? homosimp ??
@Menelutorex It's called satire. A concept I assume is beyond your mental comprehension.
Yeah, nuclear waste is normal coloured :/
but if u throw it in water, the water becomes dr manhattan blue, cause of Cherenkov and things
Yes! Been waiting for this Combo for a while! (Saw this game like a year ago or so and got excited)
So we get there. RTS rouglikes
Holy! I have been waiting for a rts/rogue mix like this, thx splat ❤
I need you to stop making videos, my steam wishlist can't take much more
This game looks fun, I'm curious to try it out.
definitely still looks a little bland, maybe after that TLC it will start to pop
Do units get veterancy like as in C and C ?
after 5 kills they get veterancy status. By default, that gives them a 20% damage increase. But there is a whole bunch of upgrades or hacks that hook into that and enables you to bend the veterancy to do more things for your build.
Really interesting title!
Hey SplatterCat have you seen Forever Winter yet? Looks way up your alley its an extraction shooter SCPish Scav in a Grim Dark world kinda thing. Early access drops the 24th too
Well im sold on the graphics alone
nice, worth keeping an eye on
Speaking of RTSs, Shrot was released ;)
Harris Sarah Anderson Cynthia Lopez Matthew
There has been an update to hero's hour will you check it out again?
2:37 should probably also look at the base stats of units and not just the abilities.
When Slay the Spire meets RA3.
I have an android, will that work with smart fire? 😂
You are here. Yay. I thought you were off for a while
prerecorded I think?
Another video said he pre recorded some videos and uploaded every other day so we dont get bored
@@robertbensch7748 time-travelling
but I like down time to plan and recover.
I feel like having every map be 1v1 is missed opportunity? I'd want to see neutral monsters, zombie waves, FFAs, team fights, etc etc. Maybe they do spice it up in game, I've only looked at this and the store page
🖤
Ah yes the rear vanguard, holding down the center flank😂
Just kidding, love ya.
Hey Splat, if you're looking for indie RTS games, I would recommend Sanctuary: Shattered Sun
Harvesters kinda do win the game
Red Alert would be indeed wrong, Tiberium would be better.
Comment for the comment god!
I love me a good RTS. Thanks for the look.
Good call. It is a dead ringer for "Red Alert" is it not? Dev probably figures his customer base is too young to remember it. Everyone except SC of course.
Red alert is a huge inspiration. RA was the first PC game I ever bought. We want the gameplay to feel like something between RA and SC. Both of us on the team are huge c&c fans. And I used to get up to watch Korean StarCraft matches.
This doesn't do it for me. I like RTS for RTS and I don't think Rogue like elements add anything that a traditional research tree doesn't do better.
It's an interesting take on the two genres, I like the *idea* of having to gear tactical and strategic thinking around emergent and shifting environmental conditions.
Not certain if this is the path to take though. Randomized maps with a variety of environmental hazard with special resources that allow you to gain bonus randomized research on top of a normal research tree would be a better way to go I think. But hey, maybe this will be the rogue like RTS that walks so others can run?
The Goat
Looks like Islanders as an RTS.
Thanks, Splatt!
Enjoyed this game last time you showcased it, suffered watching you try to showcase it this time hah! Many little mistakes which are obviously from you trying to play the game, commentate on it and show it off.
Thanks for the video Splatt!
Ive never covered this before
@@Splattercatgaming Odd, I swear I found this game out before because of you.
My bad though for being incorrect.
Are you going to play forever winter? It seems like a game I would expect you to play.
"was going to say command and conquer, but it goes for a more low unit count type of game so I'm saying supreme commander" ... oh boy... someone needs to watch more supreme commander games... they tend to have even more units then your typical command and conquer game. yes, it's limited unit number whereas command and conquer is not... but that limit is like 1000 units. now, supreme commander 2, on the other hand... ya, splat might've meant supreme commander 2, that one did change it quite a bit to make each individual unit meaning more (but severely nerfing experimentals and replacing tiers of units with research trees) so there is quite a lower general amount of units running around.
2:10 Active Ability: Gets burning.
Doesn't need a enemy to light him on fire!
dude do yuo plat total annialation on TAF ata all :)
My absolute childhood.
What began as a conflict over the transfer of consciousness from flesh to machine ....
Too mobile-game for me.
Nuclear waste is like.. ceramic tiles. The fact it's portrayed as glowing green sludge is the dumbest sht.
Not being able to overwrite upgrade slots seems like the biggest blunder a game like this could do.
A rear vanguard, eh, Splattercat? XD
I will pass on this one. 🙄
meh don't like the artstyle, pass for me
I try to watch this guy but he’s always using fancy words that don’t make sense in the context he’s using them. It comes across as pretentious.
