I hate this so, so much. Games should be about the gameplay first and foremost, and the game mechanics are easily the core focus of the Half-Life games, with the lore being a coating over them. That’s how games should be approached, and Half-Life does it well. This video is the completely wrong takeaway from Half-Life.
@@NFSl0 I didn't say Half-Life shouldn't have a plot. My actual point is, plot shouldn't come before the actual game. HL's plot almost always revolves around the game mechanics, which is how it should be done. It has to be a game first and foremost.

Plot is very important thing in Half-life games. Without a plot it would be just a shooter like Counter-Strike.
