Sadly, I'm not very optimistic about this match. Uruguay are a terrible matchup. They're an excellent defensive team with very talented players. Se podría decir que un solo Uruguayo vale mas que todos los equipos de Brasil 🤣 Igual no da ni pa quemarse, mañana USA la come doblada y si nos cruzamos a Brasil los mandamos pa casa también.
Don’t try I’ve given up. If England had won those two world championships before the 1st World Cup everyone would know. But because it was little Uruguay it’s been forgotten. FIFA even said at the end of the first World Cup Uruguay were back to back to back world champions.
There's no way the US will advance. Most likely Panama will score at least two goals against Bolivia.Which means the US has to better that against Uruguay to advance by goal difference.
Their goal difference right now is -1 while ours is +1. So they need to win by 3 or more if we win by 1. If we win say 2-1, our goal difference will be +2. If Panama wins 2-0, their goal difference will be only +1
Nope. But ussf will. There’s 3 outcomes here. Don’t advance, fire Gregg Advance, lose vs Colombia, keep Gregg Advance, best Colombia, keep Gregg. I’m fine with 1 and maybe 3. 2 is a disaster
Grouped. Mainly their shaky defense. They have at least one stupid pass inside the box a game. Uruguay will make them pay. You watch. …Let’s get out asses kicked and get rid of GGG and get away from Berthalther Ball.
A lot of media, including some in the "mainstream", are saying "there is pressure on GGG to win this game" or that "this is a must-win game". What evidence is there that USSF considers getting out of the group a bare-minimum achievement? What evidence is there that USSF has ANY performance expectations for the USMNT? USMNT fans can complain about GGG all they want, but USSF probably only really cares about whether the pay-to-play systems feeds enough money into their pockets. In as much as the USMNT serves as a carrot for that pay-to-play system, they care. Having a wholesome, slightly charismatic coverboy like Puli (not to take away from his formidable soccer skills) is all the PR the USSF needs from the USMNT. Why is GGG's "system" forced down to the youth levels? To serve as a carrot for that pay-to-play ("oh look, your son excels in the youth system which provides a pathway to the senior team")
If USA finds a way to beat Uruguay and loses in the knockout to Brazil or Colombia, it is ABSOLUTELY a successful showing. What has this team ever shown you that would make you expect anything better than losing in quarterfinals to one of the top CONMEBOL teams?!? I’m a lifelong US supporter but the delusion of USMNT fan base is so frustrating.
I’m sorry but I completely disagree with everything about this video. If our talent is where we say it is then no fucking way should we be playing like cowards against Uruguay. They are good but so are we and we need to go in ready to attack and impose our style of play. OUR style of Play that GGG has had 6 years to implement. OUR style of play being played by our most talented generation. It’s put up or shut up time for the entire USSF. Playing park the bus time wasting football , there’s been too much investment to be thinking THATS how we can win
Even beating Uruguay may not be enough to advance. The two tie breakers are 1. goal differential and 2. goals scored. If it is still tied then head to head would be next. Right now we hold a 2 goal advantage in differential but both teams have scored 3 goals. If Panama beats Bolivia by 3 goals or more, then we have to beat Uruguay and score at least 3 goals doing it or Panama will advance over us. If we can somehow beat Uruguay and Panama can only beat Bolivia by 2 goals then we are through. Uruguay is through in almost every scenario unless we smack Uruguay and score a bunch on them. I don't see that happening.
is it wrong of me, does it make me less of a fan if part of me hopes we lose. in my eyes maybe this loss sets in motion success for 2026. A sacrifice to actually move the national team forward instead of staying stagnant or moving backwards. i have no faith in a berhalter world cup team and i have no faith the federation will fire him if we make it out of the group. maybe im a dick tho idk
Remember. Modern football is unpredictable. Panama could draw and USA could draw or even win. All sorts of things are happening in tournaments these days. See AFCON, Asian Cup and Euro.
Being Uruguayo myself, I can defend this man when he says Darwin is hit or miss...I understand the record he currently has with goal scoring but man he should have many more. We always joke when he misses and say "he misses the easy ones but scores the difficult ones." Still an amazing player. #VAMOSURUGUAY
The only thing that gives me hope of advancing is that Carrasquilla had a "Weah moment" and got a red card. There is a chance that Panama draws Bolivia because he is absent.
For some reason I’m a bit hopeful in that regard as well. Bolivia will 100 percent play for pride they will not want to go out being the punching bag in this tournament and they will have nothing to lose which could make it a more difficult game for Panama than people expect
Not really. The USSR were a team of top professionals whereas the USA were a team of U23s. I do realize in this case that Uruguay are the better team, but the USMNT, while patchy at certain positions, are no slouches such that they do feature T3 League players with some of those being Champions League club level players.
Maybe a 4-1-3-2 (essentially a 4-4-2) with Musah, Adams, Aaronson and reyna (think 4-1-2-1-2) with Pulisic and Balogun up top. That might be fun to watch. I think we need to overload the midfield for the press to give lots of options.
defenders of berhalter blaming it on the players-- that's like blaming battlefield losses on the rotten soldiers, or poor equipment. who selected these soldiers? the point is that berhalter has failed to elevate the performance of the soldiers he selected. he does the opposite, then as a coward, tries to deflect responsibility for his failure- no self accountability- another sign of his "culture".
Since the beginning of copa america i was hoping USA atleast gets out of the groups. And the real test is how many games afterwards they win. If they got to the semis then i would be really hopeful for World Cup.
I never thought US had much hope of getting, out of the group. The arrogance, and disreespect USA shows their opponents it was inevitable that either Bolivia or Panama would shock American fans. Nothing learned, Uruguay is on fire, and people like Tac still crap on the opponent by minimizing their successes and over emphasizing their weakness. No way in hell Uruguay sit their starters. They didn't break a sweat against Bolivia, so the startwrs are in fine shape. Does it make sense to rest rested players against a desperate team that exhausted themselves in the previous game knowing that the next game you need your starters to be firing on all cylinders? It's pure desperation to think that Uruguay is going to sit their starters.
@@2limonatiExactly.That's the main problem with this US team and their media. They does be too arrogant and disrespectful to their opponents. They deserve to be grouped.
Sorry, guys. Bielsa is not going to let USA beat Uruguay. Why? Because he's no going to give them bragging rights as in "He'll, yeah, we beat Uruguay! We're better than Uruguay!" He's not going to allow that, guys. You guys will be grouped.
Nothing less than Semifinals. I have defended Gregg in the past, but we have too much talent to get grouped. The Red cards by Weah and Sergio are a byproduct of overall team discipline.
Sadly my expectations were much higher than what ggg could ever steer/amble through...look. We have usmnt ballers playing competitive football in europe. We should have been easily a competitor by now...WTF
Gregg Berhalter will continue to be the coach “Zero chance”of the Federation making a change at this time People need to just accept the fact that he’s our coach
I think the best outcome we could reasonably hope for is to get 2 more games against quality opponents with high stakes... no matter what happens we need a new coach and some new leaders to emerge. Also, Pulisic needs to step back from set pieces and from praising Gregg he is hurting the team with that behavior. If Gregg changes for this game and does the obvious things we have been asking for like Gio at the 10, long balls out the back, transition and better subs, don't be surprised... he always seems to do the right thing at the 11th hour... the question is if he does the right thing when his back is against the wall, why is he stubborn and stupid with decisions every other time... it's not acceptable.
Start Haji on the left and Pulisic on the right? Or play more of like a 4-2-2-2 in attack with Reyna and Pulisic as 10s underneath Haji and Balo, Adams and Johnny/Musah covering? Berhalter would never but I sure would
A successful tournament? If the USA squeaks out of the first round of games, but goes on to win the tournament, I would consider this a successful tournament for the USA. Ok, so maybe if it wins the Uruguay game, and wins the next elimination game, I would consider this a successful tournament as that result would be a reasonable result regardless of how the USA got out of the first round of games. But, as you suggest, if it barely gets out of the round robin games, and then crashes in the next game, no, that would be unsuccessful and I would advocate for firing the coach.
With Bielsa not on the bench due to suspension, there might be a shot. That said, the USA will have to be both the aggressor and actually show the ability to hold on to the ball and be clinical in front of goal. If we fail, then Greg Berhalter needs to be out the door. He hasn’t delivered when the chips are down and hasn’t pushed the development of the players as a team.
No! We need to get rid of Greg and start focusing on developing some hope for the World Cup! Getting Groupped is a good way for U.S. Soccer to pull their heads out of the ass that is Greg and start looking to the horizon for U.S. Soccer in 2026!
@@wagfinpis what makes you think the USSF will ever pull their heads out of their asses? They care about making money not winning. And they are making tons of money with mediocre performances. If they cared about winning, they would have went after a top coach after Klinsmann or kept him. They wanted his head after 2 poor performances. Greg has had bad performances against any decent team and they back him like he has dirt on them.
I'm a US fan but if you had me to choose beating Uruguay to get through to the next round but that means keeping Greg then I'd actually not mind the US getting grouped if that means firing Greg.
Why is there no media focus on the racial abuse US “fans” gave the players after Panama loss… really sickening and it has no place in football especially with our USMNT. It needs to be called out by all RUclipsrs and pundits.
How do you know it was US fans? US fans are typically more pissed off at Gregg than the players. Fans of Mexico, well they constantly get games delayed for chants.

1) USA needs a coach like Uruguay's. 2) If USA manages to get out of group play and loses to Colombia, it's bad. They, at the very least, need to show growth. The need at least a tie against a team like Colombia. If it goes to penalties, that's good.
I am a bit cynical, but I feel like USSF would only half heartedly get rid of GGG if we don't get out of the group. Then six months later, after an interim manager and the anger has subsided they'll bring GGG back saying that he is the best man for the job.
I feel like berhalter holds these guys back because he doesn't push or challenge them as individuals. They are not playing to the level they can. They should of beat Panama but they just sat back and took it. We should of pressed and played to win that gave.
I would recommend Bob Knight. But sadly he has passed. But In all seriousness, that's the kind of attitude we need. We need to expect more. When you expect more you get more.
no i wouldn't consider this a successful copa america if we got a win vs uruguay and advanced but lost to colombia next round because group stage shouldn't have been THIS difficult
Worst case scenario is what is going to happen. We loose to Uruguay Panama looses to Bolivia We advance on three points and get smoked by Brazil. GGG talks about how making it out of the group is a building block
I'm personally relieved that Turner likely wont be starting. It's time to start looking at other options in goal because he is not it. Whatever small advantages he may have in shot stopping are completely outweighed by his inability to kick a ball. Dont need him to play out from the back, but you have to be able to beat the first man on a clearance. It's pathetic

They can allow the US possession and absorb some pressure and capitalize on counterattacks from turnovers. Realistically, I think it's going to be 3-nil Uruguay. I'm just hopeful that we play with good spirit and creativity. Under GGG, though... :(
@@Gwtt100 I hope you're right. From what I've seen so far, Uruguay, Colombia and Argentina have all looked very impressive. And Brazil may have got their mojo back. But I just saw that Bielsa has been suspended for the match. Maybe Uruguay won't take the match so seriously. As for Bolivia, it's sad to see them with so little talent. I'm a DC United supporter and I remember how brilliant Jaime Moreno (he might still be my favorite player ever) was and I also remember Marco Etcheverry. They don't have anyone close to their quality anymore. But Panama will be without their best player and like you said Bolivia might play freely. Fingers crossed... ;)
@@Gwtt100 Hehe, I wish Berhalter were Uruguayan, then maybe the US wouldn't have lost the Panama match! Even a man down, the US shouldn't have tried to bunker, at least that early. They have much better talent and quality than Panama. Unfortunately, GGG doesn't really know how to manage. I know it's wishful thinking, (and "the grass is always greener...") but I really wish the US Soccer Federation had really considered Pellegrino Matarazzo as the new manager. I don't know a lot about him or his tactics, but he's actually a successful manager in a top league unlike Berhalter. And look how Canada are doing under Jesse Marsch...

We don’t have a chance to beat Uruguay. Is over for US team
Uruguay is 4 times world champion ⭐⭐⭐⭐, report well
Don’t try I’ve given up. If England had won those two world championships before the 1st World Cup everyone would know. But because it was little Uruguay it’s been forgotten.

Don’t advance, fire Gregg
Advance, lose vs Colombia, keep Gregg
Advance, best Colombia, keep Gregg.
I’m fine with 1 and maybe 3. 2 is a disaster
Yup
We get 3-oh’d and get third in the group. At home. US Soccer deserves to wear the rainbow shirts. Should wear em every game.

I guess it's more important for them to show "solidarity" or whatever with the LGTBQGFR13RUFVBQILERGFVQO374 group than win games

Grouped. Mainly their shaky defense. They have at least one stupid pass inside the box a game. Uruguay will make them pay. You watch. …Let’s get out asses kicked and get rid of GGG and get away from Berthalther Ball.
USA golden generation barely on top of CONCACAF when giants like Costa Rica and Mexico are having bad moments😅
Thanks for helping us through these tough times 😭🙏
If USA finds a way to beat Uruguay and loses in the knockout to Brazil or Colombia, it is ABSOLUTELY a successful showing.
What has this team ever shown you that would make you expect anything better than losing in quarterfinals to one of the top CONMEBOL teams?!?
I’m a lifelong US supporter but the delusion of USMNT fan base is so frustrating.
So expecting more is delusional pfft okay
No dest, no Weah, but still berhalter - pain
I miss dest
Great work! You going to Canada/Chile game tonight?
Thanx TAC! What comes after minute 68? Yep... GOAL USA!!!!
We do not have any chance to beat tough Uruguay under the administration of Gregg Berhalter Dear Filippo, he is so disaster coach for us.
Remember. Modern football is unpredictable. Panama could draw and USA could draw or even win. All sorts of things are happening in tournaments these days. See AFCON, Asian Cup and Euro.

Im going to be there tmrw, after the game the crowd NEEDS to stay behind and chant Gregg out fr
"Hit or miss" 10 goals in the last 7 matches...
I sadly don’t see us advancing and if Triple G isn’t fired I will probably tune out this tournament is already a major failure for me
Thanks!
Thank you Matt!!!!
This would be on par with the Miracle on Ice
Not really. The USSR were a team of top professionals whereas the USA were a team of U23s. I do realize in this case that Uruguay are the better team, but the USMNT, while patchy at certain positions, are no slouches such that they do feature T3 League players with some of those being Champions League club level players.
Considering we have a Bethalter on our team, it's like playing a man down
If Panama Draws and USA draws we advance? No?
Yes
USA would advance because of the goal difference, yes.
Luckily for us Bolivia are by far the worst team in the Copa America. Jamaica are way better than Bolivia.
He ain’t getting fired. Don’t y’all understand how a mafia works. They protect their own!
Maybe a 4-1-3-2 (essentially a 4-4-2) with Musah, Adams, Aaronson and reyna (think 4-1-2-1-2) with Pulisic and Balogun up top. That might be fun to watch. I think we need to overload the midfield for the press to give lots of options.
shouldn’t we play haji wright on the left wing and pulisic on the right that would be better
defenders of berhalter blaming it on the players-- that's like blaming battlefield losses on the rotten soldiers, or poor equipment. who selected these soldiers? the point is that berhalter has failed to elevate the performance of the soldiers he selected. he does the opposite, then as a coward, tries to deflect responsibility for his failure- no self accountability- another sign of his "culture".
A USMNT fan that is a Gregg apologist is hardly a fan at all.

Since the beginning of copa america i was hoping USA atleast gets out of the groups. And the real test is how many games afterwards they win. If they got to the semis then i would be really hopeful for World Cup.
Fuck that,we are eliminated, stop saying that we have a change
I agree with your analysis.
There is a possibility.
The record is 2W for USA - 2D - and 4W for Uruguay.
Maybe after Monday night they could schedule a Copa de Losers game against Italy.
Scally is the player of the tournament
The only success is winning the cup and after the lose on home soil this tourney is a failure all ready
There is no way USA get out of quarter finals against Colombia or Brazil but we will never know that because we got grouped by Panama.
@@Boxingfan-mg8mf I agree, but at least I have club seats for the Colombia Brazil match!!! REAL FUTBOL TITANS!
Sadly my expectations were much higher than what ggg could ever steer/amble through...look. We have usmnt ballers playing competitive football in europe. We should have been easily a competitor by now...WTF
We play the game because there is always a chance. I believe.
Gregg Berhalter will continue to be the coach
“Zero chance”of the Federation making a change at this time
People need to just accept the fact that he’s our coach
Can't wait to watch the highlights of this game in the hub
Start Haji on the left and Pulisic on the right? Or play more of like a 4-2-2-2 in attack with Reyna and Pulisic as 10s underneath Haji and Balo, Adams and Johnny/Musah covering? Berhalter would never but I sure would
I love how you had usmnt as the top5 best team in the copa 🤣😂🤣🤡
Tac, Im so disappointed in your formation graph. Reyna should be behind Richards.
Nice. Great job USSF my goat 😍
We need Gio to play up and we need to feed Balo not just cross balls in. We have to play to our players skills

I thought yellows reset after the group stage?
Why is there no media focus on the racial abuse US “fans” gave the players after Panama loss… really sickening and it has no place in football especially with our USMNT. It needs to be called out by all RUclipsrs and pundits.
I didn't see any racial abuse. It was probably a story that USSF made up, to distract people from the real news- which is the loss against Panama
Why do you assume it was from Americans? Most of it was from outside the country
How do you know it was US fans? US fans are typically more pissed off at Gregg than the players. Fans of Mexico, well they constantly get games delayed for chants.
@@leosorghum6867 why do you assume it was outside … and does it matter your response makes me think so that’s why… it should be called out and not tolerated by anyone
I'm Hispanic. Trust me, Americans are the least racist people on the entire continent
Pretty much what they did before so I wouldn’t be surprised lol. Like I’ve said, I’m pretty sure the USSF didn’t even try looking for a new coach.
I feel like berhalter holds these guys back because he doesn't push or challenge them as individuals. They are not playing to the level they can. They should of beat Panama but they just sat back and took it. We should of pressed and played to win that gave.
What’s more likely, Baloguin making a penalty, or Bolivia beating Panama?
I would recommend Bob Knight. But sadly he has passed.
But In all seriousness, that's the kind of attitude we need. We need to expect more. When you expect more you get more.
No its a failure to answer your question
Entering the week of Independence Day with this bomb is a lot for me, what I will suffer in this game is not written 😢😢😢

That Botafogo comparison was rude haha 😂😂
Worst case scenario is what is going to happen.

GGG talks about how making it out of the group is a building block
Uruguay latest copa America championships 85,87, 95,2011. Those were not a century away ..
Absolutely not !!!
Very nice commentary.
Tac do you really think it’s possible that we get grouped and US Soccer still keep Gregg?
I'm personally relieved that Turner likely wont be starting. It's time to start looking at other options in goal because he is not it. Whatever small advantages he may have in shot stopping are completely outweighed by his inability to kick a ball. Dont need him to play out from the back, but you have to be able to beat the first man on a clearance. It's pathetic
Did Tac have a mental breakdown after we got GROUPED?!?!?!
no adams plz
USSF will not fire Ggg even if they get grouped.
Fine with me. Then I don't need to waste anymore time watching this team.
