When we got it the seats were tan in the middle and it didn't flow too well, so we had the tan dyed gray to match the color theme. It looks like some form of alligator skin. Very unique that's for sure. The trans did feel like it had a shift kit, but we didn't add one, it may have been there from the previous owner.
I hear that. When it came into our inventory, typically I'm not a fan of dual sunroofs, or alligator seats...but the more I looked at it the more I liked it because it was like a flashback to what was cool back then. It originally had tan alligator seats. I had them dyed gray to match the exterior trim and wheels. Also when it came in it had horrible oversized wheels on it. I threw a set of brand new Torque Thrusts on it. I feel it really gave it a good look. The anthracite in the middle of the wheel really tied it all together. Glad you liked it! Keep an eye on my channel, I get rare stuff often.
My beau just did a bike trade with cash for a custom 84 El Camino.....your car is slick. I have a new appreciation for them but as I kid, I have to admit I mocked them....my inner truck girl/mean girl taunting a car...or is it a truck...see, I'm at it again!! I was 10....but at 50....I like 'em. Becoming rarer by the day.....:) You still have her?
305 V8 with tubular headers (I don't remember if they were mid length or long tubes) and free flow exhaust all the way back. I had a big 4 barrel carb put on it and various other mods. For what it was it was pretty quick. It sounded great! We put an exorbitant amount of money in it to bring it back to life.
No clue we bought them like that, however when we got it the center part of the seat wasn't gray it was brown which looked horrible as it didn't match with any part of the color scheme of the car at all. So we had the center part dyed gray to match the SS emblems on the outside of the car and flow a little better. The part we dyed dark gray was like an alligator skin. Kind of cool for a car coming out of Florida.
At first I thought the same thing, but then they became endearing because it was a throwback to some of the cheesy 90's upgrades we did back in the day lol
As the old saying goes, different strokes for different folks. I like the dual sunroof because its very 80's and the door panels I believe are leather which in person look great. It's not that cheap vinyl the factory uses. Looks better in person. Definitely a fun car and with all the performance enhancements is a blast to drive! Thanks for the comment though.
I didn't know Chevy made an 84 SS . Super clean!
She looks pretty sharp! Very nice Elko.
Big fan of the seats. Sounded like a racing shifter on the trans.

Wasn’t a big fan of anything after 1969 but this video makes me like the 80s models more

What kind of steering wheel is that?and size?
Volante? Grant? Looks great! I'm in the market for one just like that for my '82
I think it was a grant steering wheel and I bought the SS insert separately.
That's a sweet ride man. Where did you get the tonneau cover?
Came with the car. It was lockable and had air shocks as well to hold it up. This El Camino was super nice!
Looks like a post from the Facebook page, "unnecessary automobile nose swaps"".
Which torque thrust wheels are these?
no way, i saw this car on sale right now in fb marketplace
I sold it many years ago. I am based out of Florida. The buyer was from a different state at the time.
maaaaaaan thats a clean elco... check out the video I posted of my 84 El Camino cruisin
Wow carrazo, el mejor del mundo
What kind of tubular headers is on that particular car?.. are these stock ?
I don't know the brand (as I bought it with the headers already installed on the car), however it did have aftermarket long tube headers.
What radio is that. I'm digging it.
It's an old school Pioneer.
What type of engine is that? Sounds like a 350.

Who did the seats? My goodness

I’m curious, how tall are you? I’m 6’3 255 pounds. Do I fit in that vehicle?
I'm also 6'3 but about 80lbs lighter. There is plenty of hip space so you'll be fine in it.
I'm 6'4 210 and fit fine in my 80 el camino
@@autosearchandsales1335 thank you 🙏🏾
@@jtapp2222 thank yu 🙏🏾
Price on el camino
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I notice he didnt express super sport?
Hindsight is twenty twenty...good catch. It was an SS to be clear.
How was the sunroof done?
Dual sunroof probably installed in the late 80's early 90's when that option was hot.
How much one like this?
Today I would imagine close to $20k. Sold for around $15kish many years ago.
Tubular headers ? As opposed to square ? ...LOL,.
Yeah because they are "totally tubular" ;)
It’s pretty nice, and it’s very similar to mine, but its not missing 50lbs in rust or a Chevette wheel, so I’ll pass.
I have a 84 ss choo choo
fucking mint
YOu can Only listen to Classic Rock and Country in that Car. If you play anything else car will implode,
fuel gauge is broken
Captain Obvious to the rescue lol.....
@@autosearchandsales1335 thx Twink!
Looks like sunroof leaks
Shut up and take my Honda
The cheapass aftermarket sunroof has got to go.
At first I thought the same thing, but then they became endearing because it was a throwback to some of the cheesy 90's upgrades we did back in the day lol
ruined it by chopping the door panels and roof for that sunroof.

Yeah I like custom mods on the Camino. Shows personality.
