Its so easy to make this things running. My friend contacted me about one of these GAZ-69, that he wanted to use after many years. I think he said its parked in 1991. Its starter so easily back in june this year. Just have to clean the fuel tap under the fueltank, changed the spark plugs and cleaned the oil filter. It worked fine after that little maintain. Also that has the older style starter with the mechanical engager thing.
When I was a little boy, I often rode in this 4x4. Later in my youth, I became very familiar with the engine of this 4x4. Your videos have given me many wonderful memories, thank you ❤
@@michals547 and no onboard computers, cruise controls, assists and whatnot. By the way, an example from my own experience. This year I bought an old Lada 2106 for scratch. It had a hole in passenger footwell, it had a hole in a spare wheel compartment, it was really in a rough shape. And when my daily car had problems, this Lada became my everyday car for a month, and it was pushing through everything just to get me wherever I needed to go. It gave up only when I was driving it to planned repairs, and even then it successfully reached the destination. I find this sheer will to live really admirable.
What a loyal old beast! This thing was left in the woods with no protection in maybe one of the worst environments. 14 years later it's like "hey welcome back, lets get back to work :)"

Dang that thing is so crusty. But not surprised these vehicles had zero rust proofing and the humidity just ate the frame in half most of the time. Your lucky it did not break in two. Other wise fun thing to drive.
Great save! I would love to have that thing here in the Kentucky mountains cause it’s definitely a mountain climber. And what a conversation piece. I Really love this one. Great job and thanks for sharing.

Simple machinery that just worked, unlike most of the junk today!
This truck is most likely a copy of the WW2 surplus / lend lease trucks they sent from the US and the soviets copied...

Exactly. Simple, properly engineered and well-built.
