This is fantastic. My buddy is a touring musician and owns all the best gear….. he still uses this to practice jam on! It’s so easy to use and take anywhere… when he told me I thought it was pretty hilarious… he’s got Morgan tube amps and Helix…. and ends up jamming on the Spark Go 🤘🤘

Hey Seth. It's a really cool little practice amp. Mine is in the living room ready to be picked up and go with me :)
It has a lot of great tones and is just so easy to grab and go or put a case/gigbag! Thanks for the comment! cheers Lukas

Thank you for putting this video together. There are so many videos praising the Spark line-up but it seems few that are willing to share the good and the bad. I think you nailed it, it's all about what you are going to use it for (application). Something small to throw into the gig bag and practice, it's awesome. Compact, lite, and feels rugged. Not a bunch of knobs and switches to break. Want to plop it down with a bunch of friends in an outdoor area or big room, it may not be the right tool. I've got one and it sounds ok through the speakers. It does sound pretty good with headphones on.

Hi Robert! Thank you so much for the kind words and positive feedback! I fully agree with what you're saying. We always try to do fair and balanced reviews / demos and give the viewer a true representation of the product, glad we achieved that here! It's a really cool little practice amp with many strengths and for me personally one of the top releases this year - with all its limitations (like speaker sound and volume, for instance). Cheers, Lukas

I was thinking of getting one of those PG Spark Go. My son has the original large PG modeling Amp. Here in Canada, we have a large music store chain called L&M (Long & McQuade). Great video, thanks

Hi Gerald! Thanks for the positive feedback. If your son has the Spark 40 like you mention, I personally think the Spark GO is a great addition if he wants an extra little practice amp as a grab and go / travel amp. You should also check out the Spark Mini - depending on the intended use that one might also be an option. If you have any further questions about the GO, let me know! Cheers, Lukas

@@LMGuitarCorner yes my son has the Spark 40, but the Spark Go I was thinking about getting was for me! Have you made a YT video on the mini? I have a Fender Blue jr(tweed) but wanted something to noodle with on the couch while watching tv. Trying to decide between the Spark Mini($269.00 Canadian dollars) & the Spark Go($159.00 Canadian dollars)🎸🇨🇦🇦🇹

Hey Gerald. We don't have access to the Spark Mini and thus, unfortunately also didn't film a video of it. Just to get things even more complicated (sorry 😉) and if it's within your budget I can highly recommend the Yamaha THR 30 II. It's about the same size as the Spark 40, but comes with a built in battery. Cheers, Lukas

@@LMGuitarCorner Hey Lukas thanks for the suggestion. All my home audio equipment is Yamaha, so I’m a huge fan of Yamaha just never tried their guitar amps or guitars for that matter. I know they have great products, I even saw Jimmy Page play a Yamaha accoustic guitar! You got me stoked on this Yamaha THR 30 ll, let me know if you have reviewed this product on your YT channel! Thanks Lukas

From the United States 🇺🇸.. very informative video.. 👍
Wish you luck with the channel .. Im going to check out the full size Spark video also .. Will have to sub ..
What i was interested in was the Spark mini was if the amp models cleaned up or not.. I'm glad the second fellow played.. he sets up his tone almost exactly the same as I do..
    ✌🍄👍

Thank you so much for the kind words and the sub!
I hope to see you around! Next week we'll have a live stream on Thursday 9pm CET, Not sure if you could make it in the US, but would be cool.
Regarding the cleaning up, not all amp models do, but the Yngwie Malmsteen Plexi and the JTM45 model in there certainly do and there are also a few others. But those two are my absolute favorite models in there. I have to admit though, that I'm a Marshall guy and it's always the sound I'm leaning towards. The software in all the Sparks is essentially the same, so cleaning up should be about the same for the Mini as for the Go and the 40. However, I haven't played that one yet and can't talk about the EQ. The 40 is extremely bass heavy, so almost all presets for that one are with bass down and also reduced with the EQ pedal. I don't think that's necessary for the Go and might also not be for the Mini. I guess most of the presets in the tone cloud are made with the 40, so I think for these smaller versions, there will be some tweaking involved most of the time.
      Cheers,
      2nd fellow Martin :)

@@LMGuitarCornerhey one quick question...about the charging, are you able to charge it with pass through? Like say it's going low on battery...can you plug in a wall charger and still use it to play?

They are very different imho. The Spark certainly offers more features and I would probably also go for that nowadays for my usage. The Katana mini really only has the advantage of being a little more powerful, but then there is also the Spark Mini, although more expensive.
      Cheers,
      Martin
