Seriously impressed with this little thing. The trick i found with it is to take it easy on the mid and treble, as it’s a small speaker it sounds better letting it produce its own high end
For someone like myself that has been playing for a while (mostly acoustic) but didn't learn any scales, modes etc and just learned basic open chords from books and learned riffs/songs I wanted to play, would this amp be a good choice for going through lessons like Musicisum or similar? Only have a bog standard cheap strat type guitar but hopefully that won't cause too many issues. Cheers!
Agreed, he's really become a great presenter. I remember watching Andertons 6-8 years ago and he was there as Chappers friend or bandmate and seemed maybe a little camera shy, but not now. Smashing dude fro sure.
He’s one of the most reliable , non-biased reviewers out there. Hell, I bought one today only because of his advice. Not disappointed at all. Good job Bea!
Had one for 3 months and love it. I’ve got 3 valve amps and a Kemper and this thing causes no offense whatsoever to my ears. In fact on any channel it has a really charming sound that makes you want to play....5 stars.
Ha! I’m currently playing my Katana Mini While watching a video about the Katana 2x12, while waiting for my Katana 2x12. Imagine my delight when your video came up so quickly!
Rabea, like watching your videos just to hear you play! Cool little amp. I just went and got one for warm ups, playing outdoors, and when traveling. Thanks for great demo!
The guys at Boss are probably sitting in high backed chairs, twiddling their fingers and maliciously grinning because they can now make ANY product they want and Rabea will make it sound good to us filthy casuals.
yeah but the boss katana mini amp really does sound good, amazingly good for its size, keep in mind this amp is competing with micro orange, evh mini amp and the marshal mini amp and the fender mini tweed amp, and the blackstar fly3, and it does a wonderful job at smoking any of those amps right out of the water, it even sounds better then that stupid full size 10 watt academy amp my dad bought for me 10 years ago
I didn't think it sounded that good honestly 😂 boss does make good products I just don't understand the hype behind these katanas I've heard one in person too my buddy has one and it doesn't sound like it does in this video
Literally buying a Katana 50 this Sunday. Fell in love with it when I tried it over Blackstars and Peaveys. Glad to hear you're dealing with Boss for some videos!
I had a Katana 50 MK2 and my cousin had a Mini and not gonna lie, I actually preferred the sound of the Mini at times. As soon as I got rid of my Katana fo my Marshall DSL40 Combo I bought a Katana Mini because it really is the best mini amp out there and it doesn't weigh 50 flipping pounds... XD
Nice video, sir. Always good to see your smiling face. I love to hear you play on your own. It's great to watch you playing bluesy and Jazzy chords. I think you make any amp sound good, but that Boss Mini looks fun. Keep fighting the good fight!
The sound of that little thing is phenomenal. There 's real music coming out of that box. I just love being surprised. And your versatile playing is perfect for testing it. If there were any flaws they would have been audible, but I didn 't hear any. Thumbs up and thanks for sharing.
I recently ran my Helix into the Aux In on this thing and I was amazed how well it did for practice. I encourage everyone to try running modellers into the Aux In like this.
I have a question, does the "headphonds/rec out" really work? Beacause nobody seems to talk about it, and I need an amp with headphones for quiet practice
@@BillMWirth See how it goes! I dont have a Boss Katana Mini anymore but I have done the same tactic on my Yamaha THR and it works! Anything with an Aux in works as its less coloured then going into the Input with a Helix :)
Great demo ! I've had a first gen Micro Cube for over 10 years and love it. More voicing options but I typically just use 2. Black Panel and Classic Stack. Chorus/reverb/delay set but this has a three band EQ. If I didn't have that amp i'd want this. Micro's pretty great though. backing the mic away was brilliant. More a 'room listening' environment. Sounded nice.
Great review Rabea. Your presenting and review skills really have come on leaps and bounds the last few years. Would you be able to do a quick video with this amp but with a lower end starter style guitar like a classic vibe strat, Tele, Jackson or ibanez HH so we can hear what lower end stuff sounds like through it. Cheers buddy!
Wish I had something like that praccy amp when I was a kid! So on the strength of your demo I’ve gone and bought one for my little lads 10th Birthday 👍😀 A box of win!!
Hey man, what a sound did you get...It's impressive how it sounds in any situations. But I need to congratulate you about this video, cause you played good enough to explain us. Thank u so much!
bancika here is just that video: ruclips.net/video/5yyl5PyjjaY/видео.html They both sound great to be fair. Especially with the booster circuit in the Fly 3 ;)
cool, thanks! I love my Fly 3, modded it to have 4 channels using discrete JFET booster, added speaker extension jack...booster in the front really makes it shine. Both clean and overdrive channels sound great when pushed harder.
I'm currently learning guitar on an acoustic and I'm looking into getting an electric, having not much money to spare this seems like a great choice! Thanks for the video
Temu has a switch jack for 2.00....install it. It will defeat the small speaker when you plug and external speaker into it. Will in crease the volume and do away with the problems of a small speaker.....use a speaker that's higher or = to 4 ohms. A 8" speaker or bigger.
Fantastic little amp. I am still leaning towards the blackstar fly3 and extension speaker though. I will use it for computer speakers and jamming and learning in front of my laptop with the ultimate simplicity and groovy tones. Wish the little katana had an extension speaker.
I have a Spark and Spark Mini and they're such a headache to use that I'm considering one of these. Oh - and I have a Katana 100 (first gen). It's amazing.
It sounds great to my ears, but I'd really like to know what makes the Katana Mini so much better, technology-wise, than older analogue solid-state amps, that were generally despised? 🤔🤷🏻♂️
Another great video. Thanks for taking the time to make it. Great sound (video sound as well as amp audio). I think I'm gonna go ahead and hit that little subscribe button now. :)
i bought a bluetooth adapter and plugged it into the aux jack..viola! BLUETOOTH!.. ( Great for lo volume shredding/ practice... i only use the brown sound for shredding.).. Holy shit Rabea, never get rid of that beard. You look so awesome man. You made such a huge change in so little time! Especially with the weight loss!

The face Rabea does when he thinks the amp is chunky always makes me want to buy the gear.
Damn, that thing sounds great for what it is.
For a small amp. It sounded sooo heavy! Love it! Thank you!
Rabea's playing from 6:35 onwards is amazing. Beautiful and yet very serious, dark etc. I love it!

I'm buying one of these for myself as a bedroom amp. Was either this one or the Blackstar Mini but I think I like this one better.
Fair play Rabea, that 61 Strat of yours might just be the best sounding Strat I've ever heard.
Genuinely think Boss have made something brilliant with the Katana series. Seem to have absolutely nailed it.
This. Pro tone at volume for
7:42 amazing riff..
Fantastic video! What is this riff 7.43.. Amazing playing and natural feel mate.
3:19 loved the funk riff
It doesn't matter which amp it is.It's something about who is playing~Good job Rebea

Dude not even Bea could make a Spider mini sound good
Amp is 10 times more important than what guitar one uses imo
I swear, if there were anyone I'd wanna work on a song with, it'd be Rabea. I just vibe with his style and personality.
Hands down best demo. Although I'm sure Rabea could fall down a flight of stairs demoing a product and still sound killer.
