This is my most favorite scene in the movie. Where Vlad returns to the cave confronting the creature, only to negotiate. The dialogues and behaviors were awesome. It’s amazing that the creature somehow knew Vlad was lying.
If something lives to feed on the blood of man for hundreds if not thousands of years, then it probably know how to read its prey... or it's false, fluttering heart.

We all agree Charles Dance is phenomenal, but I think this is the first time I hear him shouting unhinged. That "answer me!" is something feral I never usually expect him. Even Tywin at his loudest was never that. And yes, with Luke Evans' desperation and grimness in this scene, it's glorious. I remain hopeful we can revisit this while the bulk of the cast is still alive.
I don't understand why this movie got so much crap. It was easily the best portrayal of the Dracula story. CGI effects were amazing. Acting was great. Dialogue was smooth. I mean, what's not to love?
This is without a doubt the best vampire movie there is in the world, I would love to see a sequel, the stores are alive, the box office of this film was great compared to the budget, apart from the fact that the film has several opportunities for a sequel

I don't think he was awesome. Charles Dance, yes -- but Luke Evans was contrived, almost plastic and 2-dimensional by comparison. That's not to say he was bad -- just that working with an actor as good as Dance will put most actors in the shade.
I also would need to see the overall budget of this film and compare it to the ticket sales. Because I know Tom Cruise's The Mummy cost a ton to make and it flopped so if this film tie in flopped as well the studio just said the writing was on the wall and not enough people wanted this.

If you need high class acting on roles like an elder vampire, wizard, professor or any other type of master or god, you can just put a veteran british actor on it. They are really masters of the craft!
What annoyed me about the planned Dark Universe is that they insisted of setting it in modern times instead of the turn of the century or early 20th century like it should have. They should have done authentic remakes of all the original movies/books and then had a combined film set around the 30s or 40s with the Mummy. Instead, they clearly had no good vision, plan, commitment, or quality control. A Universal monsters shared horror canon would have been great, but they set it up to fail from the start by bad decisions. They should have stuck with it, paces themselves and followed this movie up. with an adaptation of the book, a book accurate Frankenstein, Dr Jekyll, and then updated remakes of Mummy and Wolfman, all with a single creative visionary like Del Toro. But nope. Universal botched it.
Almost 10 Years later. Dracula Untold is Turning 10 next year in 2024! Dracula Untold (2014) will always be as one of the most unique and well-written Horror origin stories of all of cinematic history.

This is a little off topic with the video, but after watching season 6 of My Hero Academia I agree with Dracula when he said “sometimes the world doesn’t need a hero. sometimes what it needs is a monster.” There needs to be someone in MHA to get his hands dirty in order to protect the innocent. I really want an anti hero in MHA so bad like Red Hood, Punisher, or Ghost Rider to show fear to the villains.
This is what I imagine when someone mentions Vampires. A monster that has accepted the loss of his humanity. The master Vampire knows what he is. He doesn't hide it, and he tells Vlad only the hideous truth.

Unbelievable portrayal of Vlad the Impaler, who was a ferocious warrior, leaving hundreds of bodiesin his wake across the countryside. My very favorite though, was Nosferatu made in the20-30' s. That's not the Devil, Vlad made a deal with Caligula which led to Caligula being free from his "prison" not even Caligula made a deal with the devil, he made it with a demon and he became the first Vampire by drinking that demons blood.

This part where Vlad goes back to the master vampire would have been much more frightening if the scenery were only lit by the torch and occasional moonlight then when the torch goes out Vlad is surrounded in pitch blackness and then when he turns around to find the master vampire right in front of him. Just imagine suddenly turning into a random direction and you come face to face with a pair of glowing red eyes Love where the master vampire yells ANSWER ME @ 3:27 .

This part where Vlad goes back to the master vampire would have been much more frightening if the scenery were only lit by the torch and occasional moonlight then when the torch goes out Vlad is surrounded in pitch blackness and then when he turns around to find the master vampire right in front of him. Just imagine suddenly turning into a random direction and you come face to face with a pair of glowing red eyes

Hmm, maybe. But it might have simply come across as dark, and I don't mean in tone. Just dark, hard to see anything, hard to really note the great performances; that kind of dark.
