How amazing are the sloths! Makes me want to go back... The racoons stole our snacks out of our bag while we were on the beach there. And yes my favourite part of CR is the conservation efforts. Amazing video. Brings back memories, thank you.
I'm from Costa Rica. I go to the college to get graduated from ecological tourism and a got a couple things to say. First of all, if you are interested of knowing specific things of the park: like history, scientific names or common names of the species and if they are endangered or not, you gotta need a guide. If you don't are interested about that and just want to take a look and walk, it's ok to go on your own. Not everyone has the same wishes, but also it is not ok to make the recommendation that you give. As a second point, it is more probable that raccoons or monkeys stole you than the people on there. That happens because the animals are searching for food, so anyway, is important to protect your bags, sometimes they take anything. Third, Manuel Antonio has a big deal with tourism because it exceeds the load capacity, the problem with the animals is related to that, so be careful of what you say with not knowing things like that or like in the case of the guides. I'm not saying all of this because I'm angry, it is because as a student I have to do it. And finally, I hope not to sound so stupid making this comment. I have not yet taken the English courses, but at least I know a little bit. It is important to keep a good relationship with the places and the locals of the country you are traveling, mostly because all the culture, biodiversity, and economy needs to be conserved or improved
You're probably already there, but anyways, have fun! I'm Costa Rican and Manuel Antonio is definitely one of the best places to visit. And despite what the video says, it's also one of the safest beaches to leave your stuff while you bathe, you still need to be careful of course, but since you have to pay to get in, and you have to show your ID, it's not so common for people to go there regularly to steal stuff. The raccoons and pizotes will definitely try to steal your food though, and they know how to open zippers!
Thank you for sharing✌🏼. I would love to check out this park when I come back. Spent some time in Punta Mona near Puerto Viejo and it was incredible! You guys seem awesome! Would you have any interest in adding an extra stream of income to your travel blogging?!
Just a small correction (I'm Costa Rican by the way, and Manuel Antonio is probably my favorite place!), the beach isn't called Playa Galardonada, it means (together with what it says on the rest of the sign) "Beach awarded with the Blue Ecological Flag". To be honest I'm not sure which beach that is, there are several within Manuel Antonio National Park, but it's definitely not Playa Galardonada :p
Are there buses that go out to the non-city areas? Like if I rent a hotel outside La Fortuna, for example, how would I get into town without walking 30 minutes? Or would I have to rely on taxi's an whatnot? Renting a car would be too expensive because I'm under 24
I have couple of questions for you? 3:39 really a two toed sloth? Please access this link so you can have an idea of how a two toed sloth looks like en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-toed_sloth FREE INFORMATION!!! 7:34 Playa Galardonada? I was trying to find this Playa Galardonada in google maps but I have no luck, can you help me how to get there............. Hahahaha.. that’s what happens when you don’t get your guide, sorry for the new travelers that will see this video you will get the wrong tips for your visit to Manuel Antonio. If you really want to know about animals and natural history of them as well as real information about this amazing national park don’t hesitate to get your guide, the guy on this video just tip you to be near the guides which is something unethical and believe me you will lost a lot of the interesting things this park has to show you. If you want to go on your own you’re welcome too, have a lot of fun and thank you for visit Costa Rica !
Hi ecastilloblanco, thank you for the information you provided with your comment. It is very useful to know the name of the beach, I'm not sure why the sign was there showing a different name, but it's clear I shared the wrong information. As for what I said being unethical, I have to clarify. I do not mean to say to join tour groups that you have not joined. What I'm saying is that when you see tour groups pointing at trees, it is more clear where the monkeys are jumping. Of course this will not give you the level of knowledge or the full experience of having a tour guide. If you watch from 2:20 of this video you will see I even say taking a tour "is a good option", it's just not the one we chose. Most of my audience are budget travellers and I try to offer ways to save money. For me $16 is high enough so I did not want to pay more for a tour guide. Respect my right to do that and I will respect you as well. Thank you
Is ur uncles home still for sale ? I’m just curious how much it’s going for .. I’m coming to CR in Jan y Feb to buy a condo in Jaco ... I’ve been coming to CR since I can remember... but I’m looking for a place I can make rental income 🇨🇷❤️
what do you guys think about the difference between the rates for costa ricans and foreigners? 1600 colones= $3 I'm costa rican and Idon't like it, seems very unfair
I think it's a bit unfair. But at the same time, I can understand. I mean $16 is way too much to pay to be visiting all the time. So if ticos who live in Manuel Antonio want to go a lot I think it should be cheaper
Also people who lives in Costa Rica have to pay taxes to the government all the year for many different things, foreigners don’t pay that every single year...
You Will miss a whole Lot of interesting things in the National Parks of CRC if you don't go with a guide, perhaps not in Manuel Antonio because it Is always crowded AND people and Guides around are looking at things but in less visited NP you would look like a fool just and get uninformed just like this guy
Bad idea to go without a guide to this park... obviously is not the best option to be a "stalker tourist" for trying to see the animals. And speechless the mistaken information about the main beach Manuel Antonio not "Galardonada" and that was a three toed sloth not two... so if you want to be an uninformed tourist believe to this guy.
Mauro Juárez clearly you’re a guide and steal money from tourist with the high prices... that’s the real reason tourists don’t want a guide, not what this guy said or did...

Tiene muy buena pinta, nos veremos por allí pronto!! Y si hace falta, enseñamos español por allí!! 🤙🏼😉🇪🇸 Gracias por el vídeo!!
I was here last summer. Awesome place.
There's just no doubting the natural beauty of Costa Rica and you showcase this really well. Also love the close ups of the animal life you did.
Thank you! The camcorder's super-zoom came in handy that day
Those were lovely beaches!! Costa Rica looks like a really nice place to visit. Definitely on my list now.
It's a must visit :)

Great vid! My cousin and I are going in a couple of weeks. How long did it take for you to walk to those beaches from the entrance from the park?
make sure to tell them as well to use the oficial parking lot not the one next to the restaurant
