Friend of mine is a drug addict and sold his Xbox One back in 2018 for $20 to fuel his addiction. He then threw in his Wii for an extra $5. Not really related to the video but it reminded me of it. Whoever bought it from him had an awesome day.

The phrase "There are no bad products, just bad prices" rings especially true here. While not the best console, for 20 bucks, you can't beat this. Great deal for sure
Hey that's an awesome score. The OG Xbox one was my first Xbox after being a lifelong Nintendo and Playstation guy. I recommend doing an SSD drive swap when you get some extra cash it does improve the load times.
The og xbox one was easily the most reliable console ive ever had. I used to turn it on forst thing in the morning log into gta 5 and go afk for days at a time. Never had a problem with it.
Wow, what a great deal. I bought mine for 75 CAD if I’m not mistaken at a garage sale last year. It came with one or two controllers and about a dozen games, which were a mix of Xbox One and Xbox 360 games. I’m currently using it and love it. The backwards compatibility makes a lot of old games accessible since I don’t really want to set up my 360 or OG Xbox right now. At some point I’ll upgrade to a Series X.
I have one of those but then upgraded to the project Scorpio revision which is considered an X series. I would not have gotten rid of or traded my original, but I wanted a 4k Blueray and a newer device as mine was about 5 years old at the time. If you can get this sub $100 you can easily find games for $5 that look great and are fun.
Finding a xb1 working for that price is the hard part. They go for 50 working...I have seen a few nearly new in the box for 80. I still have mine. Its quite the workhorse. I would open it, clean and add new paste and maybe an ssd and you are good. It's currently a fortnite-roblox machine for my kid both are free games.
I got one for £30 it was “repasted” and “cleaned” but after some use it started making loud noises I opened it up found the paste to be a super cheap paste so I replaced it with mx-4 paste and it works good again.
whats actually crazy my man is i bought the exact xbox one for a steal about a few weeks ago on offer up came with 1 controller and 14 games for $50 buck biggest steal i came across
A friend just gave me a VCR XB1 and said the disc drive was not taking discs. Opened the disc drive and found a plastic nickel inside. I cleaned it and repasted it. Works like a charm. SSD will be installed soon.
I recently got 2 overheating and very dirty phat Xbox one models off gb marketplace for 35 bucks. Cleaned them up and re thermal pasted and now they both work great
Bought my first one for $25 and the second for $10. Modified and used an Xbox 360 slim power supply l. Both worked great and was well worth the price. Great find!
The Xbox One VCR is a decent machine even in 2024 and beyond, it just depends on what games you want to play and how much you paid for it. I still have mine as well as a One X and Series X, I keep it around as a spare machine for LAN multiplayer and for sentimental value since it was my first Xbox One that served as the workhorse for my gaming back then. If the games are older Xbox One games that came out before the Series... um, well, series of consoles then they'll usually look and run decently enough. Even later released games like Forza Horizon 4 look and run decent on the VCR. Smaller games like Doom 64 will even run in 1080p on the VCR and play great so there's that I guess. Backwards compatible games from the OG and 360 are also great to run on the old VCR. They won't have 4K enhancements of course, but they'll still run nicely. Sometimes better than how they ran on the hardware they originally released on. Keep in mind, of course, that all backwards compatible games require you to be connected to the internet for their initial install even when using an original disc. After that, all you need is the disc to be inserted and you're off to the races. However, once we start getting to games that were designed for the 9th gen you absolutely NEED to avoid playing those games 99% of the time on the VCR or even the One S. The One X becomes a minimum requirement for those games if they can even run on an Xbox One at all. The VCR and One S are just too weak to handle those games properly. You CAN play them, but they'll be ugly and/or sluggish. Btw, the answer for the SSD is a resounding yes even for the VCR. Not quite as monumental as installing one into a One X, but still noticeable. Just make sure to install it internally so that the OS can benefit from it as well as the games. I've heard that SSD's with DRAM are the best choices but I cannot confirm or deny this since the only ones I've used are Samsung drives with DRAM built in.
I’ve seen Xbones for cheap prices but I can never think of a reason to buy it considering I have all my games on PS and none of the Xbox exclusive interest me
I getting the Xbox ONE from my stepfather this friday and i never had one and i was stuck with my Nintendo Switch. Also can i reset the xbox via factory mode with parents control? Becuase my aunt give it to my stepfather. So hopefully someone does know if you can reset it via factory mode with parents control.
It is also a chance stuff to buy such « recent » console that runs with a so low budget, but the One model is very big for the power. Depending on the goal of such a console, knowing that there will be less and less games that will be xbox one compatible, it should then considered only with second hand games or not all titles of gamepass

I don't play New Gen Xbox at all. I'm still playing Xbox 360. I don't have Xbox live anymore and imo there is no point having online access because all new games are trash, boring and full of microtransactions.
Well you don’t need online access since you don’t have friends . You’re not better than us, most of get it so we can hop and game with our boys at the end of a work day

If you swap the HDD to an SSD, the responsiveness will be drastically improved as well! Super nice console, even for 2024/2025 and beyond.
no shit
Does that actually work with the og models, I usually hear that it's the xb1x or ps4 Pro that takes advantage of that.
I think it helps for the UI.@stevenbishop1782

Crazy how a console from 11 years ago plays the same games and has the same dashboard as a console a whole generation ahead.
