The 3s 6800 are gonna be sick. I run a 4082 1700kv on 6s 5000 in a Talion. I get about 12-15 minutes of med/hard driving The 6800 should equal 38% more run time with more punch & a warranty. I will be picking a set up. Great video like usual.
Getting older now and having always been a nitro guy, am now buying and even converting, some of my older buggies and truggies (Losi 8, B and T) to electric, am stunned by the power and longevity of the new battery technology (Which actually not too new, have some older Thunder Tiger 3S 1,120 MAH packs I used to use in my Zoom- Shogun heli, with no balance leads, that STILL take and hold a charge from almost 20 years ago now!) I had a Spektrum battery, which I'm convinced was the demise of 2 of my Spektrum smart chargers. The battery made the chargers bring up weird error codes, and by the way, this was no gigantic battery it was a tiny little 300 MAH, 2S pack for my little Blade heli. When I hooked it up, smoke literally came from the battery, and the charger stopped working, another one sort of still worked, charged the battery for about 1 minute, then went to "Ready" status. (this was a different battery now) HH customer support was AWESOME and replaced both my chargers, so I must give them serious kudos there. So far, other than that little issue, which, really, was a pretty major issue, I have been super impressed with the power and longevity of these batteries. Been using the 3S 5,000 Mah packs for my cars, and also the 4S, 5,000 Mah packs for 1/8 th buggies and truggy, and am super impressed by the on demand, at speed, wheelie pulling power they offer. NEVER saw that kind of power with a nitro engine. I'm not really a fan of the proprietary stuff though. Wasn't too long ago I invested in a nice Hitek 4 channel charger, mad a million different pigtails, and was happy with my "I can charge any battery under the sun" status. I can still charge my older G-1 Spektrum packs with the balance leads, and I'm seriously on the fence about switching to the convenience of the G2 battery BUT, losing that balance lead makes me rely on chargers that, well, I aint had the best of luck with. I also like to check voltages and battery power with a small meter that you plug the balance leads in to, just to make sure a battery is either ready to go, or needs a charge, which we can't do with no balance plug unless we hook it up to the charger. No balance plug is nice, BUT, It's almost a necessary evil in my opinion. Love the ease and convenience of no plug, but do miss it on the couple G2 batteries I do have. Either way folks, in the end, it's all about the smiles we get when we see our little cars go flying past us at ridiculous speeds these days. Whichever platform you like, are faithful to, or swear by, have fun!
Great video. Great job putting the information together. Both Arma and Traxxas have thier own proprietary batterey setups snd chargers. Good for thier marketing that consumers second and third car they will stay within thier own brand. Some controversy and something for the end consumer to think about and fo thier own research before purchasing.
I’m excited for these BUT for something “designed for arrma vehicles” I’m surprised at how inconsistent / poor the fit was when you tried squeezing the packs into the Typhon etc. I hope they publish an official compatibility table as it seems like tolerances are going to be more specific than any measurements I take of my vehicles
@@nicksantitoro Your empiric evidence (this one example of it failing) isn't enough to justify a generalization about the whole brand. It's more accurate to state that their batteries are more expensive than the competition and are designed so that you are forced to use their chargers (similar to Traxxas). This is exclusionary behavior but it doesn't mean the batteries themselves are bad. Even if you know of 100 examples of them going bad, there are so many of the batteries in use that it still represents a small portion. My Spektrum batteries have been doing fine so not all of them are bad.
If you have insufficient experience with lipos, you will undoubtedly lose more batteries through improper care. Spectrum is marketing to hobbyists that are new in general, so their patrons might cause some percentage of battery loses through bad procedures. Where's the test comparing their ability to function properly outside of the hassle free charging.
@@jeffs7915I have had several 3s 5,000mah 100c batteries stored in my garage. Took them out after a 2.5 year break and they charged up properly just fine no issues. Are there better batteries out there? Maybe, but Spektrum isn’t trash or only for beginners.
I just ordered a Kraton 6s exb V2. Do I have to use Spectrum for the battery voltage to show up on the transmitter? If not is there a battery you recommend over Spektrum?
Hopefully they fixed the issues with the G2 line , I have 4 spektrum 4S G2 batteries that have all gone bad very quickly and I only use a spektrum G2 charger. I need new 4S batteries for my typhon racer and not sure spektrum is the brnad I want to trust.
Great Video, the Spektrum range is definitely above anything else in the market. The Smart charging is definitely the way to go. I've just bought a Typhon 3s and a TLR TUNED so may invest next year in a charger and batteries after seeing this
YES!!! Probably going to be relatively expensive per "S" (2s, 3s, etc.) , but looking like they're going to be reliably punchy offerings. Just wish the 2s packs had above 7000 mAh.
Nice informative video. I know you're busy but is there any way I could speak to you? I'm not sure if someone hacked your website and is putting a scam out on your site.
Greetings! I’ve drained the 3rd cell down to 0 on both of my Spektrum 50c 5000mah batteries in my Arrma Typhon 3s. I’m ready to buy new batteries. Which of the following would you recommend: Spektrum Gens Ace Ovonic Zee Dxf Thanks a ton in advance! Matt
Id like to , all the cute lil Green tx lighting up but, no balance plug in these , making one spend a considerable amount between Spectrum better Smart charger & suited battery . Gonna take some time. An Investment , Yes , getting away with it while one still can. Thats Smart , also.
✌🏻😎🏴Im really starting to hate spektrum. I have a bunch of dead 3s Spektrum batteries. One hit low voltage on spektrum electronics in Arrma vehicle that has LVC, by the time I got home to put on storage charge it was dead & then it wouldn’t charge. I have other UNUSED BRAND NEW spektrum batteries that drop under storage voltage due to its own technology & when I went to top them up they were dead. I’ve never had to look after & constantly baby or keep an eye on batteries & maintain batteries like I have to do with spektrum batteries.
Wow! I had a family members battery from an Aeroscout go dead by itself. Never buying Spektrum products. I also heard their micro servos suck and burn themselves out, so I bought tr4 servos for my truck instead.
I've quit buying Lipos for the foreseeable future. Overlander Batteries have said they can build any configuration of Nimh I need, so that's my direction for now. I'm not racing any more, and don't care about a little more weight. The only place I take my RC trucks etc is my sister's place, so I'd rather have safer batteries than a bit more oomph.
Spektrum batteries aimed towards bashing and they can't even design them to fit their bashers .arrma and Spektrum. Bashers. Spektrum bashers...fail. over priced batteries anyways. But still who approves these designs
Nice to see some bigger packs!

Just for people thinking about buying the 6800 4s and you have a outcast v2.5 it is not a direct fit but you have make it fit with some trimming
Would that 10000mAh 4s pack fit in stock xmaxx tray?
No balance lead is a deal breaker. Spektrum is being exclusionary. Oh well.

@@smallscalemotoring Spektrum had a bugged firmware in a batch of batteries that would self discharge to zero. They pushed an update over the summer.

Everyone loves proprietary equipment!
What is the biggest 4s battery that will fit I can use in the arrma kraton 4s v2.5
Can any of these fit a typhon grom?
I got me some of those for my Kraton EXB
What is the largest one you could fit?
Will the 6800 3s fit in the arrma granite?
What’s the biggest 4S size Lipo that will fit in a Kraton 4S?
I’m a Spektrum fan always. I’m glad they upgraded their batteries. That 5000mah wasn’t it

Have 3 G1 5000mAh 4S Spektrum packs and they have been working perfectly for months
Double check your firmware updates.
@Rod I assume that requires a computer. I shouldn't need to update charger or battery firmware for them to not go bad that's not very safe.
Will the 10,000mah fit the Losi dbxle? What's the name of the battery charger do I need to buy?
Really cool batteries I would really like to see if it fits SBR 2.0...? 👍
Will the 3s fit the vortex

Nice to see Spektrum finally upped the mah ratings. However, Gens Ace Advanced are cheaper.
Just bought a new Outcast 8S. Would you recommend the Skektrum 14.8V 6800mAH 4S 120C G2 Pro Basher Lipo batteries to compliment this truck?
