Im glad I wasn’t the only one who felt that way about the third part of the Omni
Yeah, still good, but not quite the same! 😛
@@SuperFlyComicsGuy Johns had planned a run that was intended to be a 100 issue, but for some very petty and stupid reasons DC decided to end his run sooner. He knew that his run was going to end so he didn't have time or space to do what he had in mind, Therefore the 3 part feels something is missing.
Aquaman movie was written by Geoff Johns himself. He had elements in the movie that he had no time to introduce and explore in his run, like the 7 kingdoms. His Aquaman and Mera(whom Johns considers to be one of the most awesome female characters in Dc) in this book are the best ever to appear in the Aquahistory. Johns says that one has to be careful with Mera as she can steal the show.
The Aquaman movie was a Johns pet project. It was Johns after all who restored Aquaman's reputation, he had to fight to get the book, People at DC told him it was a waste of time. He proved them all wrong, at one point his Aquaman outsold all marvel books and some of the more famous DC characters. His run was intended to last longer but was cut short.
Johns was not Involved in Aquaman 2 and the difference is evident.
Totally agree about Aquaman and Mera in this run, pure definition of a power couple. And it makes perfect sense that this run would have been a big seller at the time, it’s so epic!
Hey :)
Scrolling through your videos to see what you've reviewed that I have.
I have this on my shelf amongst many others waiting to be read.
Got it new for a great price.
Heard so much positivity about this as I hated the film and could only manage 30 mins of it lol but I've heard this is way better ✌️
I haven’t even bothered watching the film yet, but I really enjoyed this. It’s a super quick read, can be read on its own, Aquaman has a really solid character arc throughout, and Ivan Reis draws some of the most spectacular “splash” pages (pun intended) you’ve ever seen 🙂
Fantastic I’ve got this omnibus 😮
It’s a good one!
👍👍
🙂
Aquaman is also AWESOME in Justice League & Justice League Unlimited.
Man those animated shows were so good, but I actually don’t remember much of Aquaman from there. Guess I ought to rewatch them 😄
For me, the entire New 52 Aquaman (beyond Geoff Jones) is very good. Except for a single story at the end that´s bad in terms of plot and art but then picks up again and finishes fine.
Even the entire Rebirth run is very good as well. But that´s it. When it went into Seasons you can stop then.
Sounds to me like Aquaman needs to receive more omnibuses 😉
There actually is a animated movie about throne of antlantis
That’s pretty cool, I didn’t know that but it totally makes sense, that arc is so cinematic!
@@SuperFlyComicsGuy the animation is a total mess unfortunately, it just has the concept of the fight for the Throne, but everything else is opposite of the comic. With Orm a Mummy killer, Mera some sort of maid to the Queen, Arthur who isn't aware of who he is or about his powers suddenly leads the fight.
A complete mess.
