is very strange i don´t have the option render sequences in render view o.o maybe is because of maya student version 2023.2 ? Edit: well never mind i found it in the newer version 2023.2 you need to change in the left top corner modeling menu to rendering and then will appear a render tab in the top bar close to snap tools click on render ---> almost all the way down ---> render sequences
hello guys i have a huge unknown problem with the sequence renders. When i press the option to do it arnold gets a blue screen and appears this error: Couldnt create the render cause couldnt find the field. And i dont know how to fix it cause the directory is correct and every single option i see is correct. What happens?? Please help and thank you
You might have a version of Arnold installed that is not compatible with the version of Maya you have installed. If you make another sample test scene and it also doesn't render, then I would uninstall Maya and Arnold and reinstall everything with the latest version from Autodesk.
@@WhatMakeArt thanks for the help a lot. But i found the solution, the problem was that my project was setted in a HDD that maya didnt have rights to write in it, i moved the project to another location and thats it. I have a problem with the render image. When I render an object or character set on Maya Hardware 2.0, the brightness of the image looks normal but after you save it, when I open it on Photo Gallery, the image brightness looks dark compared to the render on Maya. :( Is there a reason to why it does that?
If i render animation i am getting same frame all time means if i render 1-20 frame all the rendered images will be 1st frame image only all the 20 please help me
@@surajv9367 Make sure that you change the file extension to something that has a number and not just single frame. It's in the Maya render settings under the common tab in Maya.
I have followed the steps but when I open the render viewer, it only shows a black screen with the File, Window, View and Render tabs on the top left. It's missing IPR, Options, Display, Render Target and Help. Not sure why this is happening
@@WhatMakeArt Yes I managed to fix it! My lights were not turned on! :P However Maya seems to take ages to render each image, does turning down the resolution or using a different image format improve rendering speeds?? Thanks for the help!
Faster GPU but render a lower res image for testing, the Arnold renderer is a compute hog You can optimize the scene quite a bit but there are limits without more powerful hardware
Hi thank you for the tutorial! But How can I render the sequence as png? I did put png format under the settings but every image came out with a black background. Should I try TIF?
You need to open it in in an image editor that can see transparency, the default transparency shows black, but if you open it up in Photoshop or other program input a layer under it, then you'll see that layer underneath the transparent PNG alpha channel.
Okay Thank You! I actually tried rendering with TIF format and when I imported the sequence to After Effects it had no black background it was perfectly png. So I was able to place my Sky Background. :) 👍🏻 For the moment TIF format does the job. Thanks so much and I’ll definitely try also what you recommended as well so I have more options.
Make sure you choose a file extension for multiple frames in the render settings, then make sure you set your favorite and render the entire sequence, then import it into a video editor and you will have it at playback speed
Is Arnold only creating one image or is it creating multiple images in sequence? If it is only one image then you need to change the extension type to have a #in it. If it is writing many images and overwriting the same ones, then you have to specify a different output directory or file name convention. Usually what I do is I copy the sequence that I want to keep out of the render folder into my video editing program, then when I render a new scene or version it overwrites the files but I still have the old ones
Did you make sure to select the renderable camera and also designate which frames to render? I think at defaults from frames 1 to 10, so you need to make sure that you are rendering the frame range that you want for your animation and from the correct camera or cameras
@@WhatMakeArt Yup. But I already found the problem, so I'm from Mexico and one of the folders where the PNG where supposed to be saved had a "ó" which is not in the ASCII table, the solution was to connect a USB and create a new folder only with ASCII characters. Thank you very much :)
Hey I know this comment is so late but please help me if possible.(i made a 3d track using Maya and i added ai shadowmatte to the planer and keyed it at the bottom of the car so the shadow would follow but then in my Arnold render, the planer wasn't visible ). when I imported the image sequence in premiere pro, the shadow matte planer is visible . What should I do?
Check to see the render visibility settings on the shadow matte in attributes. You can also export it as a separate render and composite it in post. Likely something is switched off in Arnold or a non-Arnold light is used to make the shadow. Hard to say without seeing that specific file. That sounds like a fun project

You have to select a file extension with an increment to render a sequence otherwise Maya just renders a single image

Better to use the Arnold lights and make sure you're rendering in Arnold when using Maya

Got an issue. I rendered different layers as exr files but the exr looks so different washed out and pale compared to what I see on arnold render view
Check the render settings and see if you selected output transform
