Thank you for putting this video together! It can be hard to get skills, so you don't want to waste them. I'm on level 71 and I still have not put anything in weapons. At my level the weapons feel over powered after upgrading them. I up'd my level and play on hard all the time just to have a little challenge. I suck at games too. This is the only game I have ever played on hard and very hard.
the manipulation skill can also be used to convince people to unlock locked doors or open locked chests for you... alot of times you can just get the npc to unlock their own stuff for you or enemies to unlock chests near where they are without you having to do lockpicking minigame.
Why not just make the neuro amp that is in your head carry over to NG+ instead of making people grind over and over to either get the skills or do Ryujinn on every NG+?
@@samiam4544 it does carry over... and everytime you do ryugen questline it goes up a rank... so you can level it to level 4 without putting a single point in it if you do ryugen quest 4 times.

8:30 if you head back to the Argos Mine Site you can snag Heller’s cutter. It seems to be tied to dissembled, but it’s a quick access weapon that saves a hot key. It also has a different skin on it. Super handy for taking in the Combat Canine bots or sneaking around a perimeter while your adoring fan walks I to the center of the room and yells “Hey Youse Guise, Here I Aaaaammmmmm.” Chances are you can slag any turrets before AF gives the mooks a chance to find you.
I hate that you can't access your quick menu from scanner mode though as my med kit and healing items is in the quick menu and I press down when low on HP yet nothing happens cuz I'm in scanner mode :( and I die... to a stupid bug (real physical bug not just game bug lol)
@@pdraggy Up and down in scanner mode zooms in and out for me, once you've added points to that skill, up and down will do same for you. But I get what you're saying
Hack you forgot the most important skill in all Starfield: the skill to take out from your path the hellish Sarah Morgan a.k.a. the most insufferable karen character in all videogames history. My gosh, that companion is a 1000 years curse. I created an oupost in the most far away planet and i sent her ALONE to that place. I wasted a whole outpost slot but my game is peaceful again.
LoL, my outposts are too valuable for that, just take her out on a few "Special Missions" like the Bank Debt Collection ones then steal in front of her and kill the debt owner after being successfully persuaded to pay. She'll say that she's not willing to be around and from then on just deny any attempt to get or give a 2nd chance. PS if you want a follower that is kick ass and don't mind the more evil side in your character rescue Betty with 1 or two ship parts and her 3☆ explosives skill goes great with mines and grenade launcher just be sure to equipe good space suits on her as a must. Xemhe seems to not care how scorched she gets! LoL😅😅😅
Best gun in the game is the Va'ruun advanced inflictor with all mods attached i have never seen a legendary version yet still using the basic and im stil one shotting most enemies its my go to weapon
4 points in lasers to have a small chance to start fires, OR just use weapon engineering to give a weapon taht ability on every shot, which either you or your companion can use, then give another weapon bleed effect or explosive rounds or disease rounds. Plus the cutter has a range of 3.. so you have to get right up on them to use it... Too few laser weapons to make that skill worth it.. Plus weapon engineering also makes you money, just mod a $20,000 ti a $45,000 gun with a few pieces of iron and adhesive...
I really need to try a Laser Cutter build. I had no idea it was that powerful - shoulda guessed. So - my take after 3 lvl 60 and 1 level 100 characters is. Focus Areas: General - Stealth 1 - Boost Pack 1 - Security 2 (and I'd go 3 for story reasons) - Ballistics or Lasers - or both. - Fitness 4 - Persuaion 1 and then work up to 4 as you can if you like that style of play (and I do). Ship Builders - it's worth getting 4 points into Commerce - once you start in on those class C ships, the prices add up fast. - Piloting 4 & Design 4 are necessary. Combat Pilots - Pilot 4 - Targeting 4 - Plasma 4 - I also find Engines, Shields, and Engineering worth the investment. If you're a Turret user, definitely add Automated Weapons 4. Aneutronic Fusion 4 - you never have enough power. Ground Combat - Weapon Mods 4 - Special Projects 1. - Energy weapons are way better than they look on paper, mainly because everything is weak to them. - Rifle 4 - Sniper 4 - (For pistol builds: Pistol 4, Rapid Reload 4 & Targeting 4) - Armor Penetration 3 - which means you can use armor piercing ammo and basically ignore armor, or use an alternate ammo type. - Due to small mag sizes, Rapid Reload is almost a requirement for pistols & shotguns.
I might suggest going without stealth, just try it- it's not as essential as youtubers make you think it is! Surely worth grabbing by level 30 or so but it takes a back seat for me. It's just nice to know whether enemies are searching for you or not, but it doesn't enhance my often times run and gun game one bit. edit: also, ESPECIALLY as you enjoy persuasion, don't ignore 'social' skills like diplomacy and intimidation as it quite often comes up when persuading giving you a largely increased chance of success! I will say though, that persuasion success is pretty easy anyway, but I like to throw in a random point into diplomacy/ intimidation when they unlock for the sure thing lol edit 2: no crew command?? how else will you utilize more than 3 crew members (one being Sarah) on your ship? for me, crew command is a MUST. BTW to do the challenge prerequisites you MUST use a ship that was either given to you or bought. No stolen ships can be used. Ships ofc can be modified, but their base CANNOT be from a stolen ship.
@@pdraggy I didn't take stealth for my first lvl 60. It's possible to do the stealth quest where you grab the data for the Neon Shield without the skill - but what a pain in the butt. I suppose you could just walk in a murder everyone - I never tried that. You can likely do most quests that way - I'm not sure you'd even fail the Ryujin quests taking that approach. It's one point, and it makes it much easer to do quests that were designed for stealth. Can you do it without - sure.
@@vincentkeith5259 yeah not sure what mission is the neon shield (I'm very slow to play main missions lol I probably have 3 to 500 hours in this game over 4 characters but have yet to even unlock starborn abilities lol) but I did do the last Ryujin quest by shooting darn near everyone lol but I used the tranquilizer gun (name escapes me atm:/) load that baby up and in many cases it's a one shot blackout:).
Don't level Manipulation. Do the Ryujin quest line 4 times using NG+ instead. You get a level of it each time you completely it, not just the first time.
Lasers are ok, and incredible against terromorphs (which have no energy resist) but in general you get WAY more damage out of ballistic weapons (particularly rifles) on all other targets (which actually tend to have even physical/energy resists). Ballistic weapons have higher base damage, with more (like armor penetration) impacting them than energy/laser weapons.
I agree with you in adding points in weight lifting, but early to mid-game, I would instead invest the points in "Do or Die" skills. Also, I'm surprised by the weapon that you're using. In my playthrough, there are so many weapons that are much more powerful AND have extended mags. But I'll put that down to different game styles of playing.
Post 2: I went straight forward for all Science tree. Outposts, Resources, Scaning and Mods. Weapons and body pieces in Golden and Purple ? I have all them getting dust on storage chest on my principal outpost. They are whole waste cuz now i can take the best white and blue weapons [specially long distance rifles and shootguns] and created UNIQUE weapons to every situation with the best mods in each situation. Terramorph fear? I can kill them in five shoots. I literally didn't us a single point on physical or combat skill trees, and i am leveling Tech tree now cuz some battles are more flow with those skills maxed. Aditionally i can craft the best of the best to all manufacturing quests and i can deliver tons of the most rare resources cuz i literally produce or mining all them on my high tech outposts. My gosh I am a TESO killer filthy rich crafter merchant in Starfield jajajajajajaja. I am playing on hard mode from the first second.
Once you get the Personal atmosphere power the increased carry capacity isn't really needed that much. You can also get the manipulation skill by doing the Ryujin faction quest line. You can repeat this during each NG+ and get yourself to level 4 without using skill points or completing challenges. You don't need to complete the faction run either. Once you get the implant you can stop the faction missions. Thus, avoiding the difficult final stealth quest.
It's also a free upgrade if you get to the last Ryujin quest and already have manipulation (before level 4 ofc). And I mean free as in you don't even have to do the pre-requisites... which... honestly isn't a problem as who doesn't LOVE manipulating everyone they SEE in the game left and right anyway lol but I thought that was interesting when I JUST upgraded to level 2 and they just gave me level 3 without even doing the prerequisites or anything.
I think weight lifting is over rated. One just move slower for a bit, two once you have personal atmosphere you can ignore all weight. I mean sure eventually once the rest of your build is done take it. But focus on your build first. The last rank is cool but not worth 4 skill points to get to.
I mean you can level up indefinitely so skill points aren't really a bother to spend tbf I tend to save two or three at a time before spending that way you have two to spare in case of emergency lol
Hornets nest is amazing but I'm not sure your doing it right :) it effectively turns your shotgun bullets into scatter bombs ie you want to fire ABOVE your enemy so it can spread out giving you a larger area of 'influence'.
do we think the Skin slot for weapons and armor are going to ever be used? i'd love to change the skin of my armor specifically because i usually don't like the way the best stuff i get looks
if you preordered the game I hear you got a skin, but yeah... most of us don't use this highly influential perk at ALL, I would LOVE to be able to skin my guns- so many grendels look so mean imo!!

Hi I see on you level tree that you have things selected all over the place. On my xbox I have to max out the upper line before I can do anything in the next lower line. Darrell
I've maxed out everything in the list except for manipulation, special projects, concealment, laser and isolation. The combat-centric skills are insane that I have to turn enemies to "very hard" to keep the combat fun and challenging. The Hunter must be right when he said like he's done these so many times over and over that he's gotten tired of it.
Weight lifting is overated. Basically just allows you keep looting longer and wear heavier gear with less “penalty”. Considering you can just give stuff to your companion and fast travel back to ship to store things there AND wear lighter gear (the heavier stuff won’t turn you into a tank anyway and you can have basically same stats on lighter gear) its just smarter to save skill points for things that actually make your character stronger and/or unlocks abilities/research instead of spending on what I would call a luxury. The stagger resistance would be nice I guess but 4 skill points is WAY overpriced for something that won’t really make a big difference when you look at what those points would give you with many other skills (lots of which you mentionned).
All I know is... That mf Barrett got pissed at me cause I shot an attacking creature and the shrapnel hit an NPC's robot and all hell broke loose. I ran away without firing another shot and and he tried to rip me for it and I [MANUPULATE'd] his punk ass into shutting tf up. It was absolutely priceless! 😀 I wish I had that shit earlier for all the times Sarah's crabby ass went off on me before she died. Literal Jedi Mind Trick! 🤣 🤣 🤣
I'm pretty sure it's a skin you get for buying the premium edition. It's just a normal equinox but with a cool constellation skin. So it looks cool! However it's a pretty standard gun.
Isolation makes this a good game, companions are clunky and so Op if you give them a big bang or disruptor you will end up as a bystander while they clear the map. Companions are ok tho if you go for full pilot and no ground skills
wow really? i find weightlifting a total waste. just causes you to spend so much more lame time in your inventory. use cover to reload. you'll regret it unless you xp exploit as leveling up gets steeper and steeper. just loot weapons and find some holstered gear. you know it sucks thats why you put your Raid commercial in there with it.
Can be good fun with all sneak levelled, remember to take your armor off though or you got no chance. Pity they don't give you helmet and suit for outside sneak though.
Don't do what I did, Piloting and Ship design are required for the best ships BUT 100% no lie all the BEST parts are level gated. There is absolutly ZERO reason to have 4 in both before level 50-60, The sweet spot is between level 30-40 get at least 3 ranks in piloting, and 2 in ship design. That get's you ALL of the best ship parts at your level, the better parts unlock at piloting rank 4, ship design rank 4 AND level 50-60 Rank 1 and 2 piloting is as much as you need before level 20, it makes ships not dog shit to handle, even ones with poor mobility become manageable. Ignoring it for 10 levels is ideal given you won't even unlock all the A class parts until level 25ish anyways. Terrible design in my opinion. If the person has the skill to fly the damn ship and the credits to spend, let them buy the best ship parts, real brain dead choice by Bethesda. I lke the idea of a giga chad behind the ship console, who can handle any dog fight but still isn't all that strong in a fire fight.
I am in the process of giving Starfield its last chance. The odds are not in their favor. Demos of half assed games are better than this. This is my opinion after 600 hrs of wanting to like this game. Back to 7 Days.

Maxed level security + piloting has been my favorite for living out my Space Gone in 60 Seconds fantasy. I have so many ships.

It's more of a backup perk for me when I'm surveying and cba to keep turning it off to use ballistic weapons and back on to survey again

The laser cutter burn is the best weapon to fight Terrormorphs, they have such high health that % damage is highest dps.

yep, I received all my levels in manipulation via the Ryujin route.

Also you can carry as much as you want and you’ll never die(if not in combat). The lowest health you’ll go is 10%

All I know is... That mf Barrett got pissed at me cause I shot an attacking creature and the shrapnel hit an NPC's robot and all hell broke loose. I ran away without firing another shot and and he tried to rip me for it and I [MANUPULATE'd] his punk ass into shutting tf up. Sharpshooting is a powerful one. Also Astrophysics is another powerful skill. Rejuvenation it is really useful for combat.
combat skills are a waste early as well, you will find awesome weapons that will waste everyone. Same for equipment mods for same reason. IMO

I'm pretty sure it's a skin you get for buying the premium edition. It's just a normal equinox but with a cool constellation skin. So it looks cool! However it's a pretty standard gun.

Isolation makes this a good game, companions are clunky and so Op if you give them a big bang or disruptor you will end up as a bystander while they clear the map. Companions are ok tho if you go for full pilot and no ground skills

wow really? i find weightlifting a total waste. just causes you to spend so much more lame time in your inventory. use cover to reload. you'll regret it unless you xp exploit as leveling up gets steeper and steeper. just loot weapons and find some holstered gear. you know it sucks thats why you put your Raid commercial in there with it.

Though why anyone would do an unarmed playthrough is beyond me.
Can be good fun with all sneak levelled, remember to take your armor off though or you got no chance. Pity they don't give you helmet and suit for outside sneak though.

Don't do what I did, Piloting and Ship design are required for the best ships BUT 100% no lie all the BEST parts are level gated.
There is absolutly ZERO reason to have 4 in both before level 50-60, The sweet spot is between level 30-40 get at least 3 ranks in piloting, and 2 in ship design.
That get's you ALL of the best ship parts at your level, the better parts unlock at piloting rank 4, ship design rank 4 AND level 50-60
Rank 1 and 2 piloting is as much as you need before level 20, it makes ships not dog shit to handle, even ones with poor mobility become manageable.
Ignoring it for 10 levels is ideal given you won't even unlock all the A class parts until level 25ish anyways.
Terrible design in my opinion. If the person has the skill to fly the damn ship and the credits to spend, let them buy the best ship parts, real brain dead choice by Bethesda.
I lke the idea of a giga chad behind the ship console, who can handle any dog fight but still isn't all that strong in a fire fight.

I am in the process of giving Starfield its last chance. The odds are not in their favor. Demos of half assed games are better than this. This is my opinion after 600 hrs of wanting to like this game. Back to 7 Days.

Do a guide in the em rifle in the thumbnail, i didnt get it on this playthrough got a shitty arse orion and it fucking pissed me off and these like hidden things to get rewards are starting to piss me off since we got no idea how to trigger them,
Game is very easy even on Hard, enemies are really dumb any weapon will kill them easy.
