My M18 fan goes almost everywhere with me. I use a new 8.0 battery and it fits like a glove. Never tried an older battery, only new 8 & 5. I dig this mod just to slap it on a Packout
Hell yeah
Thank you Jake.
Thanks for an awesome product
Hahahaha I loved the part when he used the impact on a 3D printed piece!!
It’s damn strong! Lol
Nice, (you find all the good stuff Jake) thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
This literally made me a subscriber this is years ahead lol awesome awesome stuff gentleman
Thanks
That’s cool Jake!
I like to put m12 batteries on my m18 fan works perfect
6:52 LOVE THIS MOD!
Also, yes, have experienced same issue with some of my batteries(which now have an “X” so we know not to use, lol).
Great job👍🏻
Now hopefully he can take that mod and adapt to others
Thanks for sharing!
Gonna get flamed for this but, DeWalt did it right with the DCE512. The battery sits upside down and on top of the baseplate, and it fits even the big flexvolts. It also uses a regular a/c extension cord.
No flame definitely a better design but if you already have Milwaukee Tools and you wanna PACKOUT compatible this is the way to go
Same for the ridgid fan and it has the best airflow of the bunch.
Right now I don't have either fans but my buddy has a Dewalt and got the M18 fan and returned it cause he likes the dewalt fan mucho better.
Better designed wise but not better fab
@@diegovelasquez3599 @Diego Velasquez I won't claim that it's the greatest work fan ever, but it handles all of the abuse that I throw at it.
I’ve got 4 of these fans. Love em! My genuine Milwaukee batteries fit OK. My knock off or generic Milwaukee batteries get stuck big time. I think I’m gonna use a Dremel tool and take a little material off of the fans.
Hummm
I have two fans. One has problems with all batteries getting stuck. The other does not. I did not buy the fans at the same time. Probably 6 months or more apart. I am going to Vernon's sight to check out buying the bracket. I have already bought some items you have suggested. Keep up the great work. Wish I had the time to do the inventing and testing you do. I have had many ideas.
I have the bracket to mount a crate to the front of a Packout, the level holder, a crate divider, and some other brackets. I want a fan AC power supply holder.
Crazy how some have the problem and not others. email me at orders@jakeofall.com for the AC holder ... I love ALL the mods.
A little sanding of the rails on the fan fixes the sticking
Yeah !
Glue down the slide a little and wax it. I wax all my battery’s and it helps a lot
Ohh I will try that
@@JakeOfALL Me too!
I do alot of HVAC repairs and installs.... i looked at all my options for a outlet independent fan and saw the Dewalt....and the 2x Milwaukee options... of the 3 i settled on the m12 fan instead of the other two fans. The m12 fan has a smaller footprint...its pretty powerful for its size and has more features compared to its big brother. What sold me was the magnetic base and the spring loaded clamp. I hope this helps your audience. Thanks for the vid...it taught me alot and showed i made the right choice for my needs.
Thanks for watching
I have both fans. The only thing I don't like about the m12 is it doesn't plug in
I've never had any issue fitting batteries on my m18 fan. My 9.0 battery is a too tall like you showed but all my batteries go in and out easy as you like.
Thanks so much man I just ordered the cord holder for my fan I take that thing everywhere! And keep the m12 at work and when I’m taking the fan with my on vaca it’s hard to keep track of the cord so now I will always know where it’s at n plus your supporting a small business which also a plus thanks Jake!!
Thank you
Nice I've been debating on buying a fan but now I think I will. Hopefully there's a sale soon as we are going in to the cooler months.
You should!
Thanks for the updates. Like someone else mentioned why didn't they have a plug like other brands. Not that it would get used often but why would I want a plug in transformer? Unless it was a battery charger also. I mean the little lime company seems to be more innovative than big red. Not saying they are as durable but for half the price on most of the tools they're not bad. I'd still prefer the red but wish they would listen to us about how they could make our jobs easier. That said we've come a long way in the last decade or so.
My thought is it was all about $$ savings.. sucks but who knows
I’m fully invested in the 18v Bosch platform but they don’t offer a fan. I checked loads of reviews on fans and decided on the Ryobi for $39 and bought an adapter to use my Bosch batteries. Works great. I considered the Milwaukee but figured I would run into the problem of not sitting level due to an adapter plus a big battery. Plus there is no plug and heard reports of some saying that the M18 fan (if you’re not careful) will deplete a battery to the point of not accepting a charge.
Love it man
Thanks
Definitely like that.
Oh yeah
All the packout adapter needs is a small hole to get your finger/screwdriver in there to pry out the stuck batteries...
Not a bad idea
I know its an older video but can you make a base with magnets? That would be awesome. Btw my batteries get a snug or stuck feel in there as well I know a few other guys at work with same issue
I just made a short video a couple days ago about a very simple, inexpensive diy magnet add on. It's not for packout though. Literally the only video on my channel if you're interested
❤best thing since sliced bread
That's pretty cool I wish it had a locking tab in it tho and mounted sideways. That could slip out and come off just by sliding forward
I have had same problem. Quality control issue 😂
Just ordered
They already made a packout fan
The plastic on the sides you can sand down and the batteries fit like mint, only need to shave off a bit. The two groves, just lightly sand them and older batteries would fit.
Getting that
You will love it
I want one!
Genius
Great mods, but you’d think Milwaukee would have upgraded that thing by now, sheeesh they take their time. Heck, we’re all lucky we’re getting a mower next year. Lol
I’m hoping a new one comes out soon
You will get a mower before we get the drawers in Australia
Looks like Vernon made some room for the 15 battery whenever that drops too.
Definitely
When will we get a 18" fan though? Come on Milwaukee I need it!!!
Yeah
I take mine to family outings the lake fishing etc etc everyone laughs but by the end of the day everyone stands in front of it lol
I bet
Does it have rubber gripping on the bottom in case you like to move it around a lot when you're working in spaces the packout won't go?
Really cool product I just placed an order. How long did it take for them to ship you the attachment for your fan? I’ve been trying to get a hold of them, but they still haven’t got back to me.
For the love of god please do this for the m12 too. I will pay anything for it to be packout!!
It’s in the works
Easier to buy another brand of fan...but like the work of DeckedOut
I don’t know if I would say easier it’s only like $30 and you don’t have to buy a new tool platform just to have a fan. but yes Vernon make some awesome stuff
Did anyone have any problems with the shaft having a bearing or bushing go bad? Both of mine went bad to where the blades vibrate like crazy & is SUPER LOUD even grinding plastic into dust
My 8.0 works the best in my fan. I have same issues with smaller amp batteries
Not sure what they did …
I want fan packout
He has them !
We used a small amount of grease on the rails that the batteries slide on, never had an issue again. Our biggest problem is the fan starts to make a lot of noise after a few months of use. We have about 13 of these and they have all started doing this. Not sure if it's bearings or dirt on the fan cause imbalance. We need a fix for that.
Mine sounded horrible and it ended up being the screws that hold the motor in place had backed themselves out, I had to put some locktite and reinstall the screws

Hello, where can I order the packout attachment?
Thank you Rafael
Shop.JakeOfALL.com But whomever I featured there is a link in the description
What happens now when you put the old battery in it? You can’t use a screwdriver to pry it out now. Yea my 8.0 batteries are tight
I am probably going to gently file down the slides but I will try to just make sure I use the newer style batteries.
All of milwaukees batteries, old and new, fit my fan just fine, but the off brand clones fit exactly as you showed with the first one. Are you sure that one isn't a re-skined clone battery? I've heard of a few others getting scammed like that.
So once you bolt on that base how do you pry out that first five amp hour battery? Or do you just go strictly with the 12 amp hour battery and don’t look back?
I just got a new dwalt and I love it love it
I love it. I just ordered that fan online. It's arriving next week. Where'd you get the cord holder?
I took a file and took off little off the lip on the fan and now all my batteries work on my fan... I saw it on another channel in RUclips just a FYI
I yeah I could see that as a good long term solution
Still won’t rotate and can’t use the extension cord like other fans/lights.
Yeah I hate that
Great attachment! Do your or anyone know where I can get the 3D model design? Just got a 3D printer myself and this will be mint!
He sells some of his designs
What size screws did you use? It say 7/16 but by what and what type of?
Not sure, he included them with the kit
Hello mate. I've purchased this off vernon. Can u please tell me what type of bit you used to tighten the packout attachment to the fan? I can't find anything in my sets to put it together.
Thanks
Alan
How does it screw into the base of the fan?
There are holes in the base already
Not bad, just need a way to do that with rubber feet. the plastic sliding around on my table would probably drive me nuts
I see what you’re saying!
I love the adapter it fixes most of the issues. But I wish it would rotate, and need no cord adapter.
Rotating I guess could be done! Would just cost a little bit more for the hardware and have to have an intermediary section
@@JakeOfALL I wish Milwaukee would make a fuel fan that rotates and has no cord adapter. Or at least a fuel with no cord adapter.
Are the keyhole slots threaded deep in there? What size bolts are those you used
I am not sure on the bolt but mine has been holding strong
Why would you want to put the 12A in? I use it with a 2A battery, and it can go 6-7 hours in a row on level 2 - no problem, and it comes in and out the slot without any problem too.
My 2.0 is tight in it . and some people just want that as an option
I need a packout cooktop bro. Help a brother out
welll
That happen with the vacuum I hate it so bad.
Boo
i like to put a magnetic base on mine bin looking
Yeah
What size hex key did you use??
3/8
I hate those 12 ah batteries, which are huge and expensive. It does not make sense for portable tools, but they are perfect for a table saw or miter saw. I would prefer two xc 8.0 batteries over one 12 ah battery. This fan has not problem with my two 8.0 batteries and three 5.0 batteries.
Or the mower
How you gonna get the battery out
As long as I use the newer higher capacity I can still get them out without using a screwdriver so I just won’t be using old batteries on it
Guess I’m not buying until the fix the big battery setup
The bigger batteries fit fine it’s the older smaller batteries that have a problem
Sweet, if only I had my new truck to see which packouts fit
Very nice job hopefully it not a lot of money 💵
Not at all
Where did you get the power supply holder?
I 3d printed it. Email me if you want one printed orders@jakeofall.com o I can send you a link to print them
@@JakeOfALL I don't have access to a 3D printer or I would have made lots of things. I want to buy one, please.
@@Sparkeycarp email us and we can get you
One !
@@JakeOfALL Email address please..

Have 3 of these fans ; all are around a year and a half old ; same issue with all of them / with almost all of my batteries and batteries are same age or newer ; major p i a
Definitely
@@JakeOfALL hello mate I've just got mine off vernon. Could you tell me what u used to attach it to the fan. I haven't got an impact wrench. Think that's what you used? Thanks
Don't think I would ever need the packout especially the prices of individual pieces.
It's a long term investment lol
Just got for Christmas and there is a rattling like a screw or something. Need to get those Chinese sweat shop kids some proper training on how to tighten screws!!
lol
My 4.0 battery gets stuck like chuck
Err I hate it !
哪裡可以買的到
?
DIY channel
I don’t use or want packout. I made 4 short legs on my lathe and screwed them under my fan. Problem solved.
That's a big downfall why I have never liked Mikwauke batteries. Love the TOOLS but their pinch batteries are awful. Ryobi large pinch buttons are better placed, etc. Even mikwaukee release buttons interfere also..
Can he do a magnetic base for the M18? Thanks for your content brother. Good stuff!!!!
He can do anything! And you are most welcome
Lol of course guy who uses a 3/8ths with a protective boot to bolt two pieces of plastic together🤣🤣🤣
I would feel dirty to take it off and do it raw
It's because your batteries are is swollen, replace them
none were swollen
