  • The Casio Lineage LCW-M100 is an amazing watch. It has a lot of great features, like a solar battery, sapphire crystal, multi band 6, and titanium construction. Too bad it's only available in Japan. I wanted to share my thoughts on this watch because it's really great.

    The Oceanus is great but I would save it for those more special occasions, this is a great daily driver. Then a couple of G-Shocks for those tennis days, and a Pro-Trek for hiking days. It's all good. :)

    My father uses this watch for work since 2012… it has some scratches but goes on great without issues. Then for the weekend the good Swiss brand dress watch!

    I still wear my Lineage M300 even though I have far more expensive watches. It’s a great unobtrusive, no worries travel watch, it would be perfect if the water resistance was 100m.
    Add a small G-Shock and you have all you need to go anywhere and do most everything, and if it gets stolen your trip is not completely ruined.
    My point is: watches that cost more do not necessarily bring more enjoyment, today you can wear a luxury watch, tomorrow an $80 G-Shock.

      That's true. I put on my $15 watch after wearing my more expensive watches all the time.

    I came across your video by chance. Very good surprise. I am in France and I have the LCW-M170D-1AER model. Only steel not titanium. But the indexes are on the outside crown and give the impression of floating on the dial. This fixes the problem of the index finger being cut off by the screen. On mine, the screen is negative. Which makes it more discreet but also much less readable. And I agree with you on the conclusion. The same thing happens to me, I look at the oceans with interest. But as this climb is a gift, the sentimental aspect helps me to reason with myself. For now. I'll go take a look at the other videos on your channel!

      I looked at the M170, but ultimately wanted the titanium. It's a nice feel. I probably won't be getting an Oceanus anytime soon, but I know the day will come eventually. Those watches just look amazing. Until then, I'll enjoy these as my office watch.

    I have the same Lineage but the model with numerals. It's as close to a perfect watch for me as any I've ever seen. Solar, atomic, titanium, sapphire crystal, ana-digi, day/date perpetual calendar, LED, timers, alarms, world time, standard lugs, and the thinnest solar/atomic. Lastly, at under $200 it's a great value.

      It's a great watch. But like I mentioned, the Oceanus line is tempting.

      @@thissmallwrist The Oceanus is definitely more upscale, but I prefer the aesthetics, functionality and value of the Lineage.

    Even within the Oceanus range there are different levels, ranging from around $300 to nearly $2,000.

    Great looking watch. I just bought the black face (or is it dark brown?) model. I also have a tiny wrist at barely 6" around. So this watch fits well: I had to remove 4 links! And the link adjustment is super easy to do. I really like that white face since the text is much more visible! But I don't like that there's no month/day display option, other than when adjusting it manually. Also, so far it has yet to be able to sync. I'm in NYC.

      @thissmallwrist  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah, I forgot to mention how easy the link removal system is. Amazing. Wish all Casio watches had that.

    • @-johnny-deep-
      @-johnny-deep- Месяц назад

      @@thissmallwrist Yup. And I finally got it to snyc by hanging it on a short section of copper pipe standing on two small boxes on an east facing window sill, and in the same location that it otherwise wouldn't sync from! So I'm happy. 😊

    Thank you for the nice review. I have been enjoying one of these myself for the past year but recently noticed something about the World Time feature on my LCW-M100 on a trip to L.A. that I think may be actually be a defect that is either (1) particular to my watch or (2) may be a global defect. Perhaps I can ask you to confirm whether this defect exists for your two watches as well. Here is the purported defect: my watch insists that NYC (Eastern Time) is four (4) hours ahead of LAX (Pacific Time). Of course, this is not true. As we all know, EST is three (3) hours ahead of PST; if it is 09:00 in New York, it is 06:00 in L.A.. Yet my otherwise-perfect LCW-M100TS tells me this is not so: it insists that if is 09:00 in NYC, it is 05:00 in LAX. All the other cities in World Time are correct (e.g., TYO is 13 hours ahead of NYC). I was hoping to ask if you found this to be the case with your watches. Thanks!

      You might want to check the manual for daylight savings time. My watches are working okay, although I had to manually set the time because I wasn't getting the radio sync.

    • @yanghuikwon
      @yanghuikwon Месяц назад

      @@thissmallwrist Thanks again. As it turns out, the issue did have something to do with the daylight saving time setting ("DST"). DST had somehow been turned off for LAX only; once I manually turned DST back on for LAX, it correctly displayed PST (e.g., 3 hours behind EST). I did not suspect DST, since I get the radio signal nightly and have DST on automatic. But I am glad that issue is fixed now. Thanks again. I look forward to more of your videos!

    this watch sold in europe to , not only in japan , very nice looking watch , but i do not like it is a solar , because i have some dark in my room , i do not have where to put it in the light all time , not good for a solar watch , and the oceanus is the king of quartz watches , maybe better then a GS quartz
