Thank you, all great products. For better application next time, rinse from the bottom up. This will spread the product more evenly, and reduce the risk of streaking
Great comparison. I started with Wetcoat and then went to HydroLite and never looked back. Wetcoat didn't last as long and bead as well as HL on coated and non coated cars. I haven't tried Quickbeads, but I'll be surprised if it outperforms HL.
I like when you do comparisons of 3 products on the same car in real world situations. I agree that quick beads is a really slick product. I too have noticed it struggles on lower panels ( I rinse from bottom up). White vehicles are the worst to get great footage. I just did a white work van that looked amazing in person but on camera it didn’t look like I did anything to it. Keep up the great work. Another great Canadian detailer!
Even though WetCoat Essence is the more cost effective option, being dilutable 1:5 through 1:15, I'd like to try Hydro2 Lite to see if it gives me better, longer lasting results. Great video as always!
Can these products be used to maintain a vehicle that’s already been ceramic coated? Or are they only intended as a low-effort alternative to ceramic coating?
Hey Mason, yes they can do both purposes you mentioned. I still prefer the spray and wipe application if you're maintaining your own vehicle. Thanks for watching
DIY says to spray upward on the panel you are treating to push it up. I prefer to spray into the pressure washer spray to apply Quick Beads. You can also use your foam cannon to apply it then rinse it off with a spray nozzle. Thanks for showing us the test… John
Hey John, happy to have you one the channel! I thought about the procedure you are referring to but I tried to keep spreading the product too far under control. I didnt want the product to reach over the hood. Thanks man.
I use wet coat on my wheels and hydro2lite on my paint. Haven’t tried quick beads yet, but will give it a try in the near future 👍 as far as durability I’m getting maybe a month on my daily driver. This of course is driving through a couple rain storms etc etc. but as others have stated, these products are very easy to reapply so it’s not an issue. Thanks as always for the vid.
Hey John, thanks for letting me know. Looks like your process is dialed in. They're all good products and work relatively the same. Useful when time is a concern and wheels. Cheers my friend ✌️
Hay man, a great vid as usual, I like that you often pick Gyeon and DIY lineups to test with other ones, I really like those brands, I wonder since you often use DIY Coatings how's the durability on them? Wich one u like best? The 3,5,8 year?
Hey Victor, glad you like the content. For DIY Coatings I have the 8 year but havent played with it yet. The 3 and 5 are very easy to apply, like a breeze, they all apply in the same fashion pretty much, maybe 3 year is slighty easier to avoid high spots but dont quote me on that. I have not applied them on my personal cars so I cant vouch for their durability yet. As far as the durability we'll have a test and comparison soon on the channel but we'll have to wait months to see who's doing better since im not going to throw chemicals at them but rather install coatings on a daily driver. Cheers
@@Detailing_Dogma Wow thank you very much for a detailed run down on the coatings and their application, and taking your time to anwser me, i really appreciate it! Most channels don't anwser at all or just write simple and super short without going into detail (wich is super important sometimes), your channel is quickly becoming one of my favorites! I would like to apply ,,the 8-3 stack", but it's not good price wise in my country (Poland) its over 350 Canadian dolars (for the two 3 and 8 yr), when Mohs or other coatings are around 120. I've heard good things about the ease of use of DIY coatings and their performance, i think ill try the 3 or 5 year on my daily beaten Toyota CHR, my BMW garage king has Mohs topped with Cancoat now. About the durability test i completely agree, throwing chemicals at a coating don't say much about it, only real world test!
@@victoryensured7137 Hey, your post just answered my question about where you are from 😂. I'd say go with a simple coating, the DIY 3 or MOHS are good, DIY is probably easier and faster to apply though. I've done a lot of MOHS evo in the past it's good robust stuff. But yeah keep it simple I'd say i just applied Pure EVO on my hood after the touch ups about 1 month ago and a bird poo already stained it, I've to sand and compound that area, I had to leave the car outside for about 8 hours, the bird dropping baked in the sun, it's etched. This is why I dont think its always worth it to go with the most durable stuff. Like happens we have to redo coating all the time. And thank you for your appreciation my friend, I work my audience im here for you.
@@Detailing_Dogma A VERY valid point about redoing a spot and the durability, man i hate two things - water spots and bird bombs, they add SOO much work for me it's crazy and im not a pro - im just a prosumer let's say.. I have an etched bird poo spot on my roof of the Toyota and man i didn't see it for some time, it baked and i think i need to sand it too, its not even an outline etching - its a WHOLE POO (with the white residue) that is etched, it feels like sandpaper when i run my hand over it, i fear it might be down to primer - and it's over freshly applied Cancoat Evo, i feel your pain. I love ,,smaller" chanels like yours :)
@@victoryensured7137 thank you man, appreciate you. Get some foam backed sanding paper, try a dozen wet sand passes with 3000, but alot of time 2000 grit would required. depends right. Then polish off, Get it done otherwise by a pro, don't let this sink down too long.
Hydro2 lite was my first detailing purchase and I was highly disappointed. Didn’t make it 2 weeks. And I even applied it on a wet towel and spread it per a pro detailer I know. I just use it for wheels and front grille now.
@@Detailing_Dogma I was just getting into detailing and had a new car. Wanted to get some form of protection on it. Eventually I will do a ceramic coating. Researching to find the one I want to use
@@jfarm_1311 Hey man, I moved over the DIY coatings, really simple to install, ready to go in 1 hour in environement even rain, very slick, no high spot for the most part. I'd go with their decon system and paint prep as well. check it out bit.ly/3WyJ7R6

all these spray n rinse products are terrible and are waste. they don't last. Just use a ceramic detail spray as a drying aide knock out 2 steps in one. no need to re coat car with half a bottle of product and then rinse product onto the floor down the drain lol. I'm a detailer. there's no bigger gimmick than this stuff. don't be lazy don't waste product which is exactly what you do with spray n rinse stuff you have to dry the car anyway just use any ceramic spray on the wet paint and then dry with drying towel.
Hey Stephen I mostly agree, thank you for the feedback btw. They still have their place for a quick sealant and then blow off with a blower, you can touch up with a towel slighty and good to go. Unfortunately many DIYers love those for the ease of use but im like you a prefer a true spray detailer.

Thank you DIY! I did think about that, wanted to minimize the spreading of the sealant on other panels. ✌️
