The first Uncharted defined my childhood. The second one made me realize after the years that I shouldn't have skipped on it. The third one showed me a true, incredible, cinematic adventure. Uncharted 4 concluded everything so beautifully that it left me speechless. Love this franchise. Thank you for making this video
When you lose the staff members who's creative decisions and talent made the company who it was, you just have naughty Dog in name. Same way a clicker is the same person they were before.
newonaginnalf this doesn’t add up at all, if you are referring to Amy Henning leaving, she wasn’t the only piece of the naughty dog puzzle. The first last of us, which many claim to be their best game didn’t even have her involvement as she was on uncharted 3, so I don’t really understand how you’re claiming they’re lost? The team is still there, and in my opinion, still producing great games!
Uncharted 4 was great but I liked Lost Legacy a lit bit more. This makes me think that another Uncharted game without Drake would make sense and I hope they will make another one
This was incredibly well done man, I'm actually in the middle of playing through the series again myself, not sure If I'm gonna do anything with it or if it's just for fun yet but either way I am having a blast. Uncharted is definitely one of my favorite game series of all time and you did a great job covering it. :) I'd love to see them do an Uncharted 5, heck it could even follow Nate's daughter all grown up and trying to pursue some of that crazy adventure that her parents have started telling her about or it could just follow another character like Chloe or Sam. So long as we get another entry I'm good XD
If they make an uncharted 5 I personally would like to have a game centred on Nates daughter, if naughty dog do make a Spinoff like they tried with Chloe, they should do it with sully and Sam with there own story about what they spoke about at the end of uncharted 4
I love that you included other Naughty Dog titles to show the growth within the UC franchise and how it influenced other games. Beautifully done! Also I had nooo idea that UC was made from what was going to be Jak IV. Very very interesting!
Your editing continues to be top of the line. Replayed UC3 this year. Feels like it got some undue criticism at the time, as it does feel like an extension of 2. But it's absolutely incredible, with some of ND's best pacing, story, and gameplay design.
Yeah. UC 3 being an UC 2 expansion pack really makes sense in context (same goes for Far Cry 4 to Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed: Rogue to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Batman: Arkham Origins to Batman: Arkham City).
I don't fucking know man when I played uc3 it was set on to polar opposites of inviornment that and they went back to finding Francis drake from uc1 instead of Marco polos weird tree of life thing and i thought the plane scene was pretty fucking cool
The thing that's so great about theses games is your appreciation changes with your perspective. I hate to say this but I thought 1 was kinda boring when I played it in like 2008, but after playing 2 I went back to it and it was a completely different experience. I looked at the characters much differently and same thing after I played 3, 1 became even better due to my own relationship with the characters. They felt like old friends. I've had this a little bit with other games but not anywhere near to the extent that I felt it with in uncharted which speaks to how good their writing and character development is.
I just finished my first playthrough of all 5 Games. I cant believe I waited this long to play them. I had no idea what I was missing. Truly one of a kind. I loved every minute. Uncharted 4 however, its easily one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had.
Awesome video! Uncharted 2 was the first Uncharted game I played on my PS3, and it completely blew me away as very few games ever have. All I gotta say is that I'm glad Naughty Dog was smart enough to end Nates Journey on a high note, instead of running it into the ground like so many other franchises.
I looove these games. They were a huge part of my childhood growing up. I always wanted to fly planes, but seeing Sully fly reinforced that feeling so bad it started to hurt. I finally got the opportunity to start flying planes, and every time I go up I think about his Grumman Goose. I bought the Nathan Drake collection and I'm having my girlfriend go through and play the series while I sit and watch. It's incredible how much of an impact video games can have on someone.
I’ve been watching a lot of your retrospectives. So well made. Whenever I see the temples and ancient ruins in uncharted, I can’t help but feel they were strongly inspired by Crash Bandicoot’s jungles/ ruins/ temples. I love it
I would really love a sequel to the Lost Legacy. I felt they really fleshed out both Chloe and Nadine and gave it real potential for a sequel. Honestly one of my favorite games.
I wouldn't mind seeing something with Charlie Cutter again. Not as the lead - but at least as an important side character. And I'd be open to more prequel Uncharted stuff following Nate & Sully's early days. I'm ok with them being done with Chloe & Nadine. They both got a good story out of Lost Legacy.
I feel like there are limits with doing a prequel, with the age of the actors but I feel like any spin-offs (with Cutter, Chloe, Nadine, Sam, or even the daughter) are fair game at this point. They wrapped up the story so well in UC4 that I see nothing else for a main series run but I'm perfectly fine with cameos from the main series actors.

Uncharted 3 9/10 and Uncharted 4 8/10? I disagree. Uncharted 4 is a masterpiece and it deserves at least 9/10. But I agree with the other ones! My opinion too!
@@Hank280 I just think the story of Uncharted 3 was better but overall Uncharted 4 had the best graphics/animation with a more polished combat system on the PS4... so therefore in my opinion I give it a 9.
This studio is insane, they pumped out uncharted 1,2,3 and 4 as well as the last of us in the time it took square to announce and release Final fantasy XV (versus XIII).
Uncharted is one of the best game series if not the best. Amazing story that you always want to stay up with it. It has so much action. I want Nathan Daughter to have a sequel to uncharted 4
(Welcome back everybody) I really enjoy that sentence and your videos even i don't understand of some of your words that you are saying but you are the best
The Uncharted games will always truly be my favorite games. All of the Uncharted games hold a special place in my heart and I have an indescribably feeling in my heart for them.
One of my favourite games, hands down. Nathan, Elena and Sully will always be in my hearts, I adore them so very much. I only discovered Uncharted this year (I know, right?!) But have played through all the way to uncharted 4 on my channel and have loved every moment of this epic adventure. Wow 💖 What an amazing video, so well done 💙
This is just a series that i wish and wish i could experience again. I recently did a playthrough a 2,3, and 4 with my girlfriend. She was completely new to the series and she said she loved it. I absolutely love this series and I cant state it enough. I don't even know why I do, but it'll always be close to heart!
Uncharted is one of the best series of all time and the ending for the 4th is honestly so wholesome but sad and I couldn’t help but tear up. Gonna miss those Nathan drake adventures :(
I fondly remember watching Uncharted 2 Among Thieves gameplay at a friend's house back in 2009 and being absolutely blown away by the game's cinematic presentation. I wasn't familiar with HD gaming at the time and I only had a PS2. Suffice to say, I was glued to the TV and I was in awe with Uncharted 2's visual prowess and movie style set piece moments. I eventually bought a PS3 in 2011 and the first title that I ended up getting was Uncharted 2. From the opening cutscene until the end credits, the game was and still is a top tier experience even today. Everything, from the visuals and character models, combat and gameplay was improved upon since the original release. The PS3's launch lineup was admittedly sparse to start with. However, the console quickly grew its fan base thanks to games such as, Uncharted and The Last of Us. Of course, I bought Uncharted Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception shortly after completing Uncharted 2. Not to take anything away from Uncharted and Uncharted 3 because I'm also a fan of those entries as well. I will say this though. The original Uncharted has a frustrating sewer section that I absolutely despise, even today. It comes out of nowhere it breaks up the gameplay that I'm typically accustomed to. Uncharted Golden Abyss for the PS Vita is still an Uncharted game at its heart, despite some changes that had to be made in order for the game to run on Sony's handheld system. The touch screen controls took some time to get accustomed to, but they became second nature thereafter. In terms of choosing a favorite Uncharted entry, it would either be Uncharted 2 or Uncharted 4 A Thief's End. Speaking of which, I'm going to do a second playthrough of Uncharted 4 very shortly. I remember when Uncharted 4 came out in 2016 and people were praising it as being the best looking video game of all time and rightfully so. Even now, the game has a high level of visual fidelity that can easily rival PC graphics. Naughty Dog took full advantage of the PS4's hardware by crafting a visual masterpiece. Of course, there is more to Uncharted 4 than just lush, vibrant and detailed environments and lifelike character models. The game has the best combat in the series, as well as, top tier animations, music, voice acting, story, level design (which allows the player to go off the beaten path and do some exploration) and memorable characters. Uncharted 4 was a proper sendoff to one of gaming's most beloved character in Nathan Drake. One year later Uncharted Lost Legacy released. This time around, the game focused on another character that people were huge fans of, with that being Chloe Frazer, who teamed up with Nadine Ross from Uncharted 4. Despite playing as a different character, Uncharted Lost Legacy is still an Uncharted title by sharing the same high level of visuals, voice acting, story, animations, combat, music and memorable characters. I'd love to see Naughty Dog either make a sequel to Uncharted Lost Legacy or by making a new entry that focuses on Sam Drake and Victor Sullivan or perhaps Elena Fisher and Victor Sullivan. Whether or not another Uncharted title ever sees the light of day, the series will always hold a special place in my heart. With that aside, thanks as always for another awesome video. I really appreciate the hard work and it means a lot!
21:22 I know what comes to my mind first when I think of this game... Hi, I'm Nathan Drake, if you're adventurous type like me... -Nathan Drake, the "Subway ad"
Between the Uncharted franchise, the rebooted Tomb Raider franchise and SW Fallen Order, 2007-2019 will be known as the golden age of the Action Adventure.
Great video man, I just finished Last Of Us Part two but I think I’m going to play out this series again with the Nathan Drake collection . Such a great series, and this documentary you made really make me realize how luck we are to have this in our lives.
Got platinum on every game with an enormous smile on my face in contradiction to all my other platinums. Just really sad it doesn’t feel the same playing it again like the first time... one of my top 3 best singleplayer games ever
I was 9 years old when Uncharted 1 came out. I have no words to express my feelings right now. I grew up with Nathan Drake. He was like a bridge between my childhood, teenage and adulthood. Thanks for summing this in one video. ❤️❤️. I loved every sequel but I don't know why Uncharted 2 always had me spellbound. The delight on my face while playing it after a long day at school 😭 I just miss those days. Uncharted is one the best things to happen in my life.
Uncharted is the finest adventure series ever made. The music the characters and the stories are superb. Uncharted 4 is absolutely amazing. Loved this video. Steve 👍
When the uncharted music played at the end of this video, it reminded me of the time when I finished Uncharted 4. Teary then and teary now. I hope we get to see more of Nathan Drake.
25:52 Missed opportunity to say that some thought it wasn't as strong as its predecessor, because frankly those who consider Uncharted 3 better than Uncharted 2 are in a minority.
Huh, a video about my favorite video game series, nice! If they are indeed planning on developing a new Uncharted game, I don't think it will continue where U4 left off. I just hope they'll keep making spin-offs both with the established and new characters, because Lost Legacy was amazing. Fingers crossed!
You need more flipping views mate, your content is awesome, keep up the great work i love these documentary videos (also could you do a documentary on the Yakuza series sometime? it's my favourite game series of all time)
You reeeaally like Legacy of Kain. What's funny is that I read up on it a bit to learn where Amy Hennig started off. Was curious if there was any direct connection between Uncharted and Tomb Raider because of the studios.
Everyone seems to forget the two uncharted games on Vita and the one game on IOS. These games (all three) had very fun elements.... Here is my list: Uncharted 2 Uncharted 4, Uncharted 3 Uncharted Golden Abyss Uncharted 1 Uncharted Lost Legacy Uncharted Fortune Hunter (Android, IOS) Uncharted Fight For Fortune
From top notch to still good: 1.Uncharted 4 A thief's End 2.Uncharted 2 3.Uncharted Golden abyss (personal fav cuz it brought me into the franchise) 4.Uncharted 1 5.Uncharted the lost legacy 6.Uncharted 3 (still great but some of the story for me didnt work but it wasnt Noughty Dog's Fault ... the actor of Charlie Cutter had to leave the Set of Uncharted 3 cuz he had to shoot his role in the Hobbit) Uncharted Card game for the Vita was also great and its weird but i also enjoyed the puzzle app . Im praying for a next Uncharted game 🙏 and i hope the movie will be good too.
Great video sir you covered everything in this documentary However bend studios didn't created their own engine they used unreal engine 4 by epic games
@JSkopezz man, I did the Iram of the Pillars sections on Easy. I was so fucking tired I just wanted to keep playing the story instead of suffering with the Djinn demons, lol.

This is the best game series. If anyone critises, I don't care. I love this game so much that it's a masterpiece. And only naughty dog no one else can master this serie
Righteous, I love this series natural blend of shooting, fighting and platform mechanics.
Uncharted 1 - Tech Demo 7/10
uncharted 2 - Masterpiece 10/10
Uncharted 3 - A Great Experience 9/10
Uncharted 4 - Also A Great Title 8/10
Uncharted lost legacy - Another Great game 8/10
Just My Opinion. Have an amazing day.
Uncharted 3 9/10 and Uncharted 4 8/10? I disagree. Uncharted 4 is a masterpiece and it deserves at least 9/10. But I agree with the other ones! My opinion too!
Γιάννης Καπνιάς yeah that’s fine 🙂. I personally prefer uncharted 3 over uncharted 4.
can you explain on why you think that uncharted 2 is a "masterpiece 10/10"?
@@Hank280 I just think the story of Uncharted 3 was better but overall Uncharted 4 had the best graphics/animation with a more polished combat system on the PS4... so therefore in my opinion I give it a 9.
@@Hank280 But if you were to ask me I would play Uncharted 2 in Uncharted 3 over Uncharted 4 again just because of that story.
This is the most complete essay video of the series I have ever seen.
I love all your history videos! Great to start my morning off, thank you!
You're history videos are awesome! This one and the Call of Duty ones are 2 of my favorites. Can't wait for more in the future!!
One of my favourite games, hands down. Nathan, Elena and Sully will always be in my hearts, I adore them so very much. I only discovered Uncharted this year (I know, right?!) But have played through all the way to uncharted 4 on my channel and have loved every moment of this epic adventure. Wow 💖
What an amazing video, so well done 💙
Uncharted.. graphics are just unbelievable 😍😍😍😍😎
This is just a series that i wish and wish i could experience again. I recently did a playthrough a 2,3, and 4 with my girlfriend. She was completely new to the series and she said she loved it. I absolutely love this series and I cant state it enough. I don't even know why I do, but it'll always be close to heart!
Why didn't you play the first one? Too outdated for you?
@@evanpaluch6190 yeah the graphics give me migranes lol
The documentary videos are always my favourite videos that you make.. amazing work as always.
No matter how far naughty dog goes, uncharted put them on the map
crash bandicoot did that
Brings back so many memories from when I first played Drake's Fortune in 2007. Great video as always.
Wow you made me realize how much I love this franchise.
Uncharted is one of the best series of all time and the ending for the 4th is honestly so wholesome but sad and I couldn’t help but tear up. Gonna miss those Nathan drake adventures :(
Love listening to this series in the background while I animate
I really appreciate the hard work and it means a lot!
i see nick 930 has a new video.....its a "history of"......its uncharted....its a blind like !!!
keep up the good work!
21:22 I know what comes to my mind first when I think of this game...
Hi, I'm Nathan Drake, if you're adventurous type like me...
-Nathan Drake, the "Subway ad"
Excellent video as usual. Love your content!
Uncharted 5 should be from Sam's POV with a cheeky appearance from Nate
excited to watch this! my fav series
What an amazing job you did with this video. It got me so hyped for what ND is working on now. Whatever it may be
Between the Uncharted franchise, the rebooted Tomb Raider franchise and SW Fallen Order, 2007-2019 will be known as the golden age of the Action Adventure.
The best retrospective of one of my favourite franchises i´ve ever seen. Thumps up ;)
Great video man, I just finished Last Of Us Part two but I think I’m going to play out this series again with the Nathan Drake collection . Such a great series, and this documentary you made really make me realize how luck we are to have this in our lives.
Last of Us was legendary, Last of Us 2 was woke garbage
@@Ervinabrahamian But the gameplay's brutal and fun
nahh this video was crazy good, didn't expect it draw me in for 50 minutes
Love your videos
The Uncharted Theme always makes me tear up. It's beautiful.
Great documentary.
HOW THIS HAS 56K VIEWS?!!!!, This video deserves a millon views
It happens, hopefully someday youtube will recommend it
Got platinum on every game with an enormous smile on my face in contradiction to all my other platinums. Just really sad it doesn’t feel the same playing it again like the first time... one of my top 3 best singleplayer games ever
Same wish I could play the games again.....
My favorite Uncharted is definitely Uncharted 2 man it's just so good but all if them are great tho.
Bunch of extremely talented people have developed these games. If you are one of them, hats off. Fantastic work!
Just finished the franchise again and this is my recommendation
I was 9 years old when Uncharted 1 came out. I have no words to express my feelings right now. I grew up with Nathan Drake. He was like a bridge between my childhood, teenage and adulthood. Thanks for summing this in one video. ❤️❤️. I loved every sequel but I don't know why Uncharted 2 always had me spellbound. The delight on my face while playing it after a long day at school 😭 I just miss those days. Uncharted is one the best things to happen in my life.
I love these documentary videos. Great work as usual. 👍🏾🤙🏾
The music REALLY hits when you’ve played the whole series and grew up with it. Especially after playing uncharted 4:(
@@jxynx5962 The only game i felt crying and sad... From a treasure hunter to an a guy living a normal life with his wife and his daughter...
25:52 Missed opportunity to say that some thought it wasn't as strong as its predecessor, because frankly those who consider Uncharted 3 better than Uncharted 2 are in a minority.
Good video Nick. I am waiting for an early comparisons of Ubisoft games which will be shown tomorrow.
I grew up playing uncharted from from 2007 since now and iam telling you it's the best game ever made
Yes it is
30:24 did you add that Wilhelm scream or is it actually in the game? Loved this video, great work Nick
I remember being blown away that my shirt could get wet in game
Huh, a video about my favorite video game series, nice! If they are indeed planning on developing a new Uncharted game, I don't think it will continue where U4 left off. I just hope they'll keep making spin-offs both with the established and new characters, because Lost Legacy was amazing. Fingers crossed!
Uncharted with Sam and sully would be awsome
@@wallacethedog719 General Kenobi!
@@1Adrix1 you are a bold one
They need to bring the uncharted 2 among thieves vibes back same with the multiplayer
@Paula Pogba Eh a cutter and Chloe could be pretty cool ngl
The Uncharted series is so much fun. Nice departure from the dark/serious tone of so many other games
You need more flipping views mate, your content is awesome, keep up the great work i love these documentary videos (also could you do a documentary on the Yakuza series sometime? it's my favourite game series of all time)
I really loved this, had a great documentary style to it, and got me super excited for the future of this dev
Amazing job Nick I can’t wait for the LEGACY OF KAIN documentary 👍
You reeeaally like Legacy of Kain. What's funny is that I read up on it a bit to learn where Amy Hennig started off. Was curious if there was any direct connection between Uncharted and Tomb Raider because of the studios.
wow, nicely done. I never really watch someting so long i get bored. But with this i have watched and listen to it with amaze. thank you.
I would rate them in this order:
Uncharted 2 - The best game in the series
Uncharted 3
Uncharted 4
Uncharted 1
Uncharted lost legacy
Uncharted 2
Uncharted 4
Uncharted 1
Uncharted 3
Thats my order
Everyone seems to forget the two uncharted games on Vita and the one game on IOS. These games (all three) had very fun elements....
Here is my list:
Uncharted 2
Uncharted 4,
Uncharted 3
Uncharted Golden Abyss
Uncharted 1
Uncharted Lost Legacy
Uncharted Fortune Hunter (Android, IOS)
Uncharted Fight For Fortune
Uncharted 2 and Uncharted Lost Legacy
From top notch to still good:
1.Uncharted 4 A thief's End
2.Uncharted 2
3.Uncharted Golden abyss
(personal fav cuz it brought me into the franchise)
4.Uncharted 1
5.Uncharted the lost legacy
6.Uncharted 3
(still great but some of the story for me didnt work but it wasnt Noughty Dog's Fault ... the actor of Charlie Cutter had to leave the Set of Uncharted 3 cuz he had to shoot his role in the Hobbit)
Uncharted Card game for the Vita was also great and its weird but i also enjoyed the puzzle app .
Im praying for a next Uncharted game 🙏 and i hope the movie will be good too.
@@surefireplan9025 I am praying for a new Uncharted game as well! I love this series! #1 all time!
I love your game history docs! Honestly, and sadly, I've never played Uncharted, but this really makes me want to!
Great video sir you covered everything in this documentary
However bend studios didn't created their own engine they used unreal engine 4 by epic games
Still going to watch, but instant thumbs up!
Just decided to replay through the Nathan drake collection on brutal
Edit: completed the first game
@JSkopezz man, I did the Iram of the Pillars sections on Easy. I was so fucking tired I just wanted to keep playing the story instead of suffering with the Djinn demons, lol.

Uncharted is so much for me, the A Thief’s End is my favorite game of all time, Drake’s Fortune is the first game I ever played, Nathan Drake is my favorite character in all of fiction, and Nolan North is my career idol, great video man
The ending in 4 was far too awkward. Nathan’s daughter is casually about to learn her father has ended over 2000 lives of mercenaries and rivals.
I was 40 years old in 2009 and didn't really play video games except for football ones and maybe a bit a random smash up on GTA ... But Uncharted 2 absolutely blew me away...what an AMAZING game.
The Wilhelm scream was a nice touch. Did you do that or was that actually in the game?
I did that. The clip was too quiet and it needed a little bit of that Indiana Jones charm ;)
@@Nick930 well played! I had to replay it just to make sure I heard what I thought it was. Great video as always, btw. I never played the Uncharted series, so it was nice to get a synopsis of this franchise. Keep up the great work!
He did
Amazing length of the video! Time to watch! :)
when are we getting a history of the arkham games? I'd love to see you talk about them
Fantastic review! It reminded me of all the awesome movements playing these games. Thank you.
