And then did it again five batters latter. Weird, weird version of baseball. But everyone built their skills. Especially that first baseman.

I wonder if the first three batters showing bunt was a plan - show bunt but don't commit for the first two to set up for the third guy who actually bunts - and then they realized how much it psyched out the pitcher and just ran with it, or if they recognized that the infield wasn't playing well all game and saw an opportunity.

The only veracity game I pitched in my sophomore year of high school, I came in in the top of the 7th, up 3. My third baseman had 7 errors in one inning, including 4 on bunts. I gave up 5 runs on no hits, one walk, 2 strikeouts, and a pick-off. We lost by 1. I finished the season with a 0.00 ERA and 5 RA in one inning. And that was one of 4 games we lost, including the state championship game.

1:46 long story short from my childhood; I needed glasses but was poor, so I never hit the ball, one day I did, but I turned around to my left and walked back to the base. The guy tagged me with his glove as I was touching the base and the Ump called me out. We were like 12 years old and that was one of only a hand full of times I actually got to touch base.
Edit: Same Ump threw out my coach for battling for me. Fuck that Ump and fuck that kid who employed MLB rulings to a level of playing field that nobody really even watched baseball.

As a former pitcher I’d ask the catcher to give me a target with his glove instead of him keeping it closed and low until the pitch almost gets there… also probably why the catcher mishandled so many pitches.
