Hey. I’m doing the Alta via 1 and 2 this summer. A friend of mine wild camped the whole of the Alta via 1 and said he had no issues. I was wondering if you guys did the same on the Alta via 2? It would be great if you could let me know
Did you do many/any of the via ferattas? I'm going in September and plan to hike AV 1 and AV2 and was curious about skipping the via ferattas. Any thoughts? Thanks.
wow! Awesome video Julian, you deserve way more credit than the 67 subs since I subbed in Feb! Jealous much of your talent. Do you carry those harnesses the whole way of just hire point to point?
Thank you! Yes I'm not very good at growing the subs. I guess for starters I should add a "please subscribe" in the video, and then I should probably do more on Instagram. I prefer hiking instead😎
in addtion to the lanyard ( I got Petzl Scorpio Vertigo Lanyard) what type of harness did you use, I'm looking at some ultralightweight type like "Petzl TOUR Harness - Lightweight Harness for Glacier Travel and Ski Touring" Would it be sufficient for via Ferrata, or do I need a full climbing harness. I'm planning on using it for Alta Via 2 route, its alot less extreme than yours.
Hi, first of, great footage, inspirational and relaxing. Do you have any tips/rules for setting up the tent, in regards of getting possibly caught by anyone? :-)
Thanks! We only set the tent up outside of the national park, and usually not directly on the path. We mostly set up camp just before sunset, and were gone early. And we tried not to leave any traces, or disturb anyone. I don't think anyone saw us, and certainly no one chased us away :). If there are huts or farms nearby I'd suggest to check with them to make sure they don't mind and of course check the regulations (I think I have to say that...). That being said, if we were to do it again, we would probably always stay in huts as camp and filming equipment together was on the heavy side, especially on a hike with that much up and down.
Nice video guys, a really nice trek. The AV2 remains my wish. (if you want you can see my treks ...) But tell me: In what period did you go through it and where you made your stop-point. I would not like to bring the tent. Did you book shelters or have you found free bed (when you have not made camping)? thank you
We mostly used the Cicerone guide book to know about the huts. We bought the ebook, I can recommend it. About all our stops, I forgot to add chapter marks for the stages, I'll add that tomorrow. We did not make reservations because we decided to fairly late, and we had the tent. Whenever, the weather was indicating thunderstorms we tried to find a rifugio though. We were really lucky and always found a place, however, many others sometimes did not and had to carry on walking, especially if the group was bigger, e.g. more than 2. If I did it again I would try to reserve, at least in the North/beginning and middle parts. Further South it seems to get a lot less busy.
Saustark!
Good footage!
Beautifully filmed! Can't wait to see where you go next!
Bravi video bellissimo ,non servono parole le immagini parlano . Grazie
Fabulous video. Thank you.
Glad you liked it, thanks :)
Turned out well! Nice Katie agreed to carry the beer next time.
Yer not so sure about that! Bags were definitely heavy enough as is.
@@JulianOes Yeah, but you don't really need the tent, and she's getting stronger.
GREATE VIDEO
Great video. Thanks.
It's great watching this after having done it myself and reliving all those moments

Espectacular.... ¿Qué gps lleváis? y ¿qué modelo de dron?... ¿En qué fechas lo hicísteis? Saludos

What time of year (month) were you two hiking in this video? I'm curious, and considering a future trip!
We went mid August.
