- The UK pleaded for “calm heads and restraint” in the Middle East on the anniversary of the October 7 attack on Israel which triggered a wave of violence across the region.
Downing Street’s appeal for de-escalation came as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu weighs up how to respond to last week’s ballistic missile attack by Iran, and while violence continued between Israel and the Tehran-backed Hamas and Hezbollah groups.
There are international concerns that a miscalculation in the exchanges of fire between Israel, Iran and its proxies could trigger a wider regional war.
Talk’s Julia Hartley-Brewer is joined by former Israeli communications minister Yoaz Hendel, who says Israel is “fighting the West’s war” one year on from the October 7 attacks.

FACT: On October 7th, Palestinians celebrated in the streets, distributed cakes, and helped kidnap Israelis to Gaza, into the tunnels. They also, in exchange for money, kept the kidnapped individuals in their homes to blend them into the population.

Such a grey politician. He was in the Israeli Kneset for a moment. Did not leave a mark. And he got nothing to offer to Israel future as he ignore the major issues. And all centrist politicians are. shallow and very not brave.
