This was a professional hit job. All these elo 500 people in the comments saying "daut screwed up" but the reality is, no, Hera was just that clean this game. Ofc Mongols have an advantage, but wow.

Gotta say - monk siege push with initial militias was some ballsy move from daut. I wouldnt know what to do against mongols in this matchup so hats of to both of you. Magudai attack bonus is insane.

People wondering what Celts can do vs Mangudai... definitely not siege, skirms not great because they'll lag way behind in late game, halbs are okay but will get outmicro'd even in fairly large numbers. Celts do get (weak) paladin whereas Mongols don't get halb, so a combination of pals, halbs, and maybe stray skirms would go a long way towards a solution. The micro at 25:50 can't be done if there are pals hitting you too that soak up lots of arrows. Main goal would be to keep mangudai running while you hit the base/eco e.g. with woads or rams
Celts should use Scorpion instead of Mangonel. They're way better against Mangudais.
@@satyakisil9711 Yup, it would be a lot better because it's that much harder to dodge. I would still hesitate (as a frequent Celts player who dreads facing Mongols) unless you have lots of them. As long as you have only a few targets of almost any unit, a good Mangudai player can snipe them through microing. Just my opinion but I think any dangerous unit is still going to lose unless paired with a lot of damage-soaking units to make microing unfeasible. The trash and the good units need each other :D
I think in this case daut played it right, trying to kill Hera with a timed mangonel push. Hera's micro was absolutely unbelievable there and he still nearly lost the game.
Scorpions are not a real solution I think. Worse range, way worse damage, and worse hp. They work vs. melee units because infantry have to blob up to go on the attack, but against mangudai you'll only be hitting 3-4 units with each shot. Doesn't feel like you'd get enough done quickly enough. You will always deal some damage with scorpions but with 1-2 good onager shots you'd deal way more, and you need high end performance to actually win.
When did he have time to tech switch into paladins???
This was absolutely bananas, that micro agaisnt those 6 onagers near the end had me wowing the whole time

Btw,would it be possible to make a video where you talk about how to deal with all in pushes?Like Goths just spamming m@a + skirms in feudal,1 tc castle age all in pike siege monk rushes.Meta seems to be much easier to play against than this stuff.

Goths you just have to wall up early and make archers. That way, you can attack the maa when they attack your house walls/palisades, then when they move back and try to bring skirms up, you just pull the archers back.
Celts eat TC but mangudai eat mangonels

19:05 to the commentor who envies Hera's apm... I like watching Hera's stream for the attitude (better than Viper), but I have to say, the overclicking does get to me sometimes! High apm because of a lack of surgical precision... see 19:17 for example. Then again, I shouldn't be talking on a micro-heavy game like this

Bro you need to take one catapult (or two) and flatten all forest around your enemies. Start slowly away then progress towards base or base straight away. He will think that you are after his units and want to get in so maybe he start wall himself and spent wood which will shorten quickly. 🙏

Celts don't get bracer, ring archer armor or thumb ring, they also lack plate barding armor and bloodlines. So they only have one long term option and it is infantery and siege. It is a tough match-up for celts, mangudais counters everything they can make. Onagers is probably the best shot Daut has to do anything here, since, even if mangudai counter them, you can always hope that a good shot will get you back in the game
Why not? He almost sealed the game at castle age with his mango rush. Mangudai is extremely micro intensive, playing against onager is basically predicting your opponent's prediction. It's just too bad for DauT Hera's micro there saved him from defeat and managed to pull him off into Imperial. Had the mongol is just some random 1500-1800 players they will definitely call GG there.
