Nice analysis of how Mongols should play against Slavs! I like how the top players are now more competitive, each players have their own game knowledge and methods, and not just one player having the best answer to everything.

Mangudai has no counter only when there are Mongol hussars to support. Only AI can stop fully upgraded Hussar+Elite Mangudai.
The intro should have stopped just before the fight resolves, with some editing it will add suspense.

If u didn't know. If 2 units attack at same time the one with earlier color always win. Go by blue red green yellow teal purple grey orange. Even if health bar looks like ur winning.

Mangudai shouldn't have a bonus against trebs. The only counter to it is by destroying their castles, but that is extremely difficult because they can just shoot the trebs once or twice and bail.
While you're not entirely wrong, I think that would be such a severe nerf to the Mongols that they might lose a ton of viability. Since getting to Mangudai is already superhard, and getting to Mangudai in a good position is even harder.

Since Blue is player 1 his scout was placed first in map creation. In these sitatioon the unit created first wins so you know before hand that blue would survive.

Fun game to watch. How ever one thing is not clear for me, why didn't his apponent started building pikemen? Pikemen would literally counter his full mongol horse army?
he said that its hard to catch horse he would micro manager and kill it one by one, he said skirmish is only option like gunpowder units
How do you play this as Slavs if you somehow end up in this matchup in a big competition? Something like a big knight+siege all in push in early castle to stop Mongols reaching Mangudai?
Curious as well. Possibly extended Feudal too, open MAA, go into 2 stable scouts, archers, towers. Slavs have fully upgraded scouts and supplies free.

With or without laming? Without laming completely depends on their stones, if it's back stone like hera, that would be difficult.
The Mangudai is a great unit but they take Anti-archer and Anti-cavalry damage. They're especially weak against Italian Crossbowmen.

we do, just only in late game. If you put it on too early it saps ur wood when u dont realize it and messes up ur prioritization

I struggle Arena Slavs vs Mongols. What options do I have?
They often go a castle build, so castle age aggro is futile. Also rams on the wall get cleared by a 1-2 mangudai.

Did I hear correctly? No bracer civs have no answer to mangu?
It may sound dumb, but spam is always a possible answer. Slavs have weak skirms, but decent hussars and strong halbs (w/ druzhina). Mangudai need micro to stay alive and attenton is finite. Can't avoid the big hits forever. Just keep throwing hussars and skirms while sneaking in halbs, which would also have minimized Hera's hussars better. Hera has a way of making it look like he's mainly using mangudai, but in these late-game ones the real strat is spam. He has 60 farmers at the end, constant hussars...

About the scout battle in intro -
If both the scouts start attacking at the same time,lower seed player will always win over higher seed player. Not sure who was blue and red in round 1 but in round 2 blue player won as he is player 1.

@@betwixtX Cost efficient yes but you need to mass them and skirms are getting rekt by light cav which is a good combo for mangudai. Especially when the skirms are missing the blacksmith upgrades it's hard to counter mangudai with them because with the upgrade they have at least more range then mangudai. And without thumbring it's even worse.

@@betwixtX in scenario editor, they are. In a 1v1, the mangudai will retreat from any fight they don't like. You need crazy skirm numbers to trade well vs mangudai and even then they will just move to a spot where you don't have 50 skirms.
It's not like halb and siege, where the halb is a slow counter unit but the enemy has to engage you or get rekt by your siege. Skirmishers cannot push at all, Mongols player can just ignore them and send hussars to mop them up.
What is subs?
why don't just focus on knights and pals ? don't they counter mangudai ? hussars are a bad bet

You can come live in America, our taxes are much lower than most of the first world countries. Just make sure you NEVER get sick or hurt. We are firm believers in bankrupting people for that.

You won this game but this is ladder Arabia, not KOTD Arabia. And you had the safest stone in the history of aoe2.
yeah but i saw vipers game, his approach was wrong anyways, he could have easily secured the stone, both opened scouts
@@HeraAgeofEmpires2 I think "easily" isnt it. But Im also a big proponent of playing to win. Mongols need to go Mangudai at some point, they might as well die trying. with similar levels of macro Mongols gonna lose the midgame knight/pike/Monk battles to Slavs every time.

@RUclips Commentator that's a silly point and exactly the problem. my ability to click fast and accurately is in no way related to my ability understand and discuss the strategic aspects of the game which is the thing I talked about. at no point did I brag about my internet penis lenght (aka Elo) which is definetly lower than Heras; at least in aoe2.
