The sad thing with how bad we are defending a fast break, the SECOND Ollie passed the ball straight into Ayew’s path, it was totally obvious Leicester were going to score from it.

First half was like watching paint dry. Every game there's either a defensive error or an errant pass that costs us a goal. They put 11 players behind the ball. Leicester didn't come to win, they came not to lose. We need to sign CB's. Our backup was Swinkels and Bogarde. Barkley was excellent today, and Kamara is pure class.
Super important win in a critical month which will I feel define our season. A good Jan and we can go on from there; poor month and the house of cards will collapse - fingers crossed 🤞 UTV !!

Great review Frankie. I thought Watkins played well. The miss was unfortunate. Great to see Leon score - I could see a few tears in his eyes. A super goal from Ross, he drove us forward. I thought Kamara was superb - what a player. Mings was rock solid. Maatsen made a big impact. What’s going on with Onana? A £50m investment and he is out of favor. UTV

Think Onana is a funny one - I think he’s been dropped because of the mistake he made for Newcastle’s third a few weeks ago. I’ve noticed Unai can leave a player out for a while after a poor performance. Philogene another after the Chelsea game. UTV!
Having watched Villa I also had a look at Newcastle Tottenham. Frankly we need a sharp kick up the backside. Yes we want to play the ball from the back but we do it MUCH TO SLOWLY. In addition the weight of the passes between our players is to slow providing opportunities for interceptions. When we get towards mid way players who have found space further forward (Not offside of course) are ignored we turn make one, two or three meaningless sideways passes. Meanwhile our opponents have 11 men behind the ball. When Matteson came on he offered PACE AND PURPOSE. Frankly delighted to have won and that Bailey may now come back on form but the winning goal really belonged to Matteson, my mum (who is 98) could have dabbed the ball over the line. Good news is that Bailey at least had run into position. Talking of that Villa remind me of the "WALKING FOOTBALL" pensioners play. At these wages I at least expect to see players moving at a meaningful pace. Watkins WTF???

Mings is solid for us thats for sure. I agree about Maatsen, and overall the squad needs better rotating. You can see that the side can lift for CL but then are flat for league matches.
I just can't understand how we have spent 80mil + on Onana and Maatsen and they barely play. All this coming when finances need to be spent wisely to improve the team. Is there any kther team that is sitting their 50mil signing?
Ollie is still getting in and behind the defensive lines and being in the right places, his finishing is way off. Ollie, Konsa and Torres have regressed this year for sure.
We still need a commanding CB who stands tall and leads/organises our line.
I keep seeing and hearing these Randal Muana links, mainly referring to a Duran exchange. Heart tells me that Duran is someone we need to keep ahold of but if we managed to get essentially Muana and Malen for Duran i think that makes the team better (if Unai actually plays them ofcourse).

Yeah, he looks our most sure fire goalscorer right now. A lot of clubs will want him. UTV!
Funny enough last season we conceded 61 goals and got 4th we have conceded 32 so far but scored 31 now, scored 72 last season. So it appears we are indeed not putting good chances away, poor old Ollie being the biggest culprit and it’s in his head.
16 games to score 41 and concede at the same rate( joking) just need 2.6 goals a game .
If we can score more we’ll have a good run in for sure. You can visibly see it’s in Ollie’s head atm. He’s always been like that - poor finishing, followed by a long streak of goals. UTV!

Tough question. Think Barry probably needs a Championship loan. I’m not massively sold on Malen TBH - he’s talented, but heavily inconsistent from what I know of him. UTV!
Malen is predominantly a winger. Barry will be sold or loaned out again

Cash and digne are the weak links in the back. Digne too slow. I hope bailey can push on. Wendy watkins is washed. No good.

Think Emery’s slow passing relies on having acceleration in key moments which losing Diaby has affected us a lot. Moreno had it when things were good and Maatsen has it. Neither Philogene nor Bailey really have it. I guess this is why we are going for the Dortmund guy
Watkins has 18 big chances missed this season in 20 games - a big chance missed every 76 minutes of football.
Abysmal in my book. Also take his pens out.
He’s scored 5 big chances from 23 0.21 conversion rate
Whereas Duran in less mins has scored 5 from 12 at 0.41 conversion rate.
Watkins has proven takes 1/5 big chances. Just not good enough in a side where others aren’t scoring as much to make up for him.
