Cool stuff! I love the fiberglass work. I also have learned to do carbon fiber. Use micro balloons (aircraft industry uses it)as filler to resin and not body filler. That adds weight and no strength. Also, flox can be used to strengthen the resin, please check those out. We are building a 914 with Sub 6 cylinder w turbos. Please contact me if you have questions i would love to help! Cheers! S
Sounds like a great project! I meant to say I used fumed silica and chopped strands in the resin to add additional strength and to give me a thicker consistency to work with. I’ve got a better feel for it all now though! I will check out micro balloons, I had heard of them but was getting overwhelmed during this steep learning curve 😆🤪 Thanks for the offer to help! 👌
@@air_cooled_andy thanks! I sold that a while ago and have another 260z I’m working on now. I hope to follow in your footsteps. With a Porsche replica. Looking into VW pans now.
I love the 260Z, such an iconic shape. My replica is based on a Type 3 VW and has its own chassis, I think a replica on a VW chassis is better in some ways, there’s so much more scope for off the shelf upgrades. 👌
@@air_cooled_andy Hi Andy, Ive been in a cone of shame 24/7 for a few months now, another surgery coming soon. It kinda put an end to the videos for now.
@@ManinaGarageAh sorry to hear that Finn, I hope the can fix you up buddy. Maybe a series of Six Million Dollar Man upgrades to yourself in your garage… I’d certainly watch that.
That's brilliant. Definitely will help me out in the future doing my 964 reflector panel.
That turned out really well. Nice job as always.
Thanks bud, looking forward to your next vid 🤩👌
Another great update and video. Man of many talents. .
Hey mate. No talents here! You just didn’t see the previous 500 mistakes 😆
Looks good so far Andy, keep up the good work!
Thanks buddy. I’ll certainly try! 😄
what a great result, bet you are glad the original was poorly made, well done.
I’d have preferred a straight bumper that’s for sure Gordy 😅

@@air_cooled_andy I appreciate the commentary on pros and cons. Will be very helpful when I just into my project.
I’ve subbed, always enjoy watching other people’s projects come alive. Hope you manage to track one down bud 😎🤙
Awesome!!!!!!!!! You have many talents Andy 🙌
No talents here Finn just stuff learned along the way. 😁 I was looking at your channel today, are you having a break or are things cooking? 🤔

hello one question, is the Porsche shell a replica or is it original?
Hi Alex, it’s a replica built in the 1980’s by a UK company called Covin.
Funny Dog!
Yep! He’s mad 😁
