i really can't get enough of these Crown court series..i follow every statement and can't wait for the verdict which is conveyed by members of the public based on what they have heard. must bring this astonishing series back!
The boy's care was grossly compromised by multiple parties in so many ways...however, the verdict was indeed sound, and the outcome was the kindest one could reasonably expect.
I love the mother in this. I knew plenty of them growing up. Bit common but trying to be posh and always with a right long explanation for the least thing. Wonderful characters the lot of them.
Pat Routledge and Robert Gennister (boy) these shows were the 'tooth cutting' days for so many. Pat always looked matronly. Robert never was good looking like his brother Philip but still a good actor & still appearing in so many things to day. One of those faces you see all the time, but who are not air head celebrities, just good working actors.
Thank you, keep them coming. Amazing and fascinating slices of life. Wonderful glimpses of well known people starting out on their acting career on television as well.
Another great episode - and with Hyacinth Bucket (it’s Bouquet) in the dock to boot. A good visit for Crown Court in 1979 of a very complicated issue. It calls to mind the mid-1980s Fells Acres case in Massachusetts which - arguably - was so badly compromised by the prosecution that we may never know the truth…
Now watched this - another excellent, fascinating story. Striking to see Patricia Routledge outside of comedy mode, just as we saw a similar example with Geoffrey Palmer in "A Man with Everything". As always with Crown Court a remarkable cast of established actors, later stars and a few who were only briefly seen on our screens.
This was a long running TV series, not a film, from the 70's into the 80's, it was on weekdays just after lunchtime, as children, you'd only really see it if you were off sick, although it was on occasionally during school holidays. I was fascinated & often confused by it as a very small child, but have never forgotten CC, can you imagine children today watching such a thing, a great shame!
Another very good episode of this series. This is what happen's when people think they have seen something when in fact, they have not. They put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5. PC. 09. 04. 2023.
The judge's chair with the high back. I remember when the fashion for such furniture: starting appearing in hotels in the late 90s and then became the "must have" dining table chairs. Various interior designers swanned around claiming it was their idea or they "introduced" the chair to fashionable homes. But it seems the set designers on crown court were ahead of the game - here's the proof.
Too young to have seen these broadcast but now I am hooked ! But I wonder whether the non-speaking actors were paid well to "sit in silence and look serious..." :D
A real education for Rita on jealousy and vindictiveness. Glad she got off, but such a charge would've followed her in her career. Wonder if she did end up shacked up with the boy? Wherever did he learn such eloquence and diction in a Marvel comic, certainly not from his mum?
Interesting to watch and compare this story with, A Man with Everything. With out giving anything away, the attitudes towards and treatment of Male and Female witnesses/victims/accused is poles apart. Though sadly, one can see how so many people have got away with child abuse for so long,
Mary Hopkins The fact is that we're ever you give people power over children,, your going to find sexual predators. Power corrupts.lt upsets us all but The prosecution of these so-called sexual predators has to be done and in full light of the public such as in this program even if fictional 🎗
Thanks. I was basing it on 'research' gleaned from the TV show "Judge John Deed" ! I stand corrected and "apologise unreservedly to the Court"@@manfromnocky
I loved it when Judge told mum, don't address council as 'my dear' and she said ro Judge, O' sorry love.
Anything with Patrica Routledge is always a joy. This show covers some very difficult and sensitive topics very well. Really enjoy every episode.
there can't be anything more dreadful than being sexually assaulted by Mrs Bucket
@djhbrown what a cougar!
@@Silly.Old.Sisyphus 😆😆😆😆😆
I loved it when Kevin commented about the prosecution barrister, ''He's judging my morality against his own at my age'' 😁😁
Dame Patricia Routlett. Wonderful lady. Exceptional actress

Patricia Routledge is a wonderful actress 😊👌
Patrica Rouledge and Robert Glenister 2 great actors indeed 🥰
Just wait until Sheridan hears about all this.
😝😝😝😝😝

"Were you truly wafted here from paradise, your honour?"
Thanks for this. Jeremy Clyde is also very well known as one half of the singing duo, Chad and Jeremy. They still tour and sing to this day.
They made an appearance on 'Batman'.
Chad passed away in 2021
"The Ark" is a a very underrated album.
Loved this judge 😊
The judge is in fine form here : "The boy was lying face down on the dressing table ?" What a wag.
Excellent to see this Jez - we can never have enough Crown Court! Many thanks for uploading this and other stories.
My pleasure, GMLPC! I"ll try and upload the others when I can. :)

I agree
Absolutely agree. It is strange to see "our Hyacinth" doing a dramatic role and doing a very good job at it. Bravo, Hyacinth! 👏👏👏👏👏 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 😁😁😁😁😁
Geoffrey Palmer also played a child abuser in Inspector Morse.
Really enjoying these, thanks for uploading. This was the best one yet - gripping stuff!
My God how different it is today. She would have been condemned in the media without trial and the law biased against her.
Get a grip
fantastic acting by Patricia Routledge interesting film

Wonderful, just wonderful!!!
Many thanks 🙏
Wow! "Our Hyacinth" doing a superb job in this British television show recreating actual British court cases. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 📺📺📺📺📺 👏👏👏👏👏 👍👍👍👍👍 😁😁😁😁😁
This is not an actual court case. It is fictitious. But the court procedure is genuine!

"The Buckett Residence, the Lady of the house speaking. "
👍👍👍👍👍 😁😁😁😁😁

Thank you Jez T. Have been looking forward..:)
Wowzer...! I remember this so well
Rita Finch, aka Mrs Bucket did actually get a paper boy to clean his ear with a cotton bud!!!
I wonder if it had any hand-painted periwinkle on it? 😆
Too young to have seen these broadcast but now I am hooked ! But I wonder whether the non-speaking actors were paid well to "sit in silence and look serious..." :D
I don't think it would've been much, Equity minimum I imagine, to not pay them would be illegal, so yes, they would've been paid.
Yet another one.nice one jez.
Have you seen Hunger Strike or A Man With Everything, Kirk? They're two of my favourites!
That lady witness at the end in the animal print coat, for a second I thought that was (Sybil Fawlty) Prunella Scales.
rare treat
Got mixed up with the barristers,.seemed to have switched positions.thought the defence stands in front of defendant.
The defense and prosecution seemed to be on opposite sides than in the other episodes I've seen. Quite confusing
That Kevin Lawrence looks like that guy called Sandy who was the guy in the wheelchair off Crossroads Motel.
Excellent
They lived happily ever after until Mr Bucket came along! 😂
You forgot to credit Martin "Muck & Brass" Oldfield as the jury foreman - another Network winner!
my gawd, prosecution looks like Jason king ha ha
Poor Mrs Bucket. It could happen to anyone !! a series of misunderstandings, nothing more
It's "Boo-kay!" 😆😆😆😆😆
A real education for Rita on jealousy and vindictiveness. Glad she got off, but such a charge would've followed her in her career. Wonder if she did end up shacked up with the boy? Wherever did he learn such eloquence and diction in a Marvel comic, certainly not from his mum?
I re-watch episodes of Crown Court...
Similar story line to the "Robin and His Juliet" episode of CC.
Ian Flintoff as Court Reporter - I think that makes 6 I know of now.
Mrs Bucket….you cougar….you got away with it! 😅
Every single case is basically they did it but enough doubt has been introduced so that not guilty is the inevitable result
Very good again🙂

Patricia Wouldn’t & none of her characters could possibly be guilty of such behaviour 😡
Bloody hell - Hyacinth!
How many have you in total put on.I must of watched 20 plus of yours now.
Feels weird not hearing Peter Wheeler but Ian Flintoff - Peter has a much nicer tone IMHO
Objection! Meat pudding is delicious! :-)
up4atgal: I agree! Mind you, I'm not so sure about having it with semolina...
So, "pudding" means "dessert", unless modified with "meat" or "Yorkshire"?
Funny the first witness was not allowed to say what the boy had said but could say at length what Mrs Finch said. Are they both not hearsay?
It's because the boy was the supposed 'victim of alleged assault,
Not hearsay because the witness heard it. Not reporting what someone else said they heard.
Tsk, tsk, tsk, Mrs. Bucket, you got away with that one. Shame, shame shame!
Quick ring Richard
Do you have the episode titled "Baby Love" from 1979?
Where was she when I was 15? 😅❤😅❤😅
Was this mentioned in keeping up appearances cannot believe mrs bucket would do such a thing?
Yes watched both them jez.both good.there all very similar.just lots of not G uiltys.unless its the order I've watched them in.
Today 2024 she would definitely have been found guilty
And isn’t it interesting how the boy and the accused left together for who knows what
Whenever I see her on telly, Pat Routledge seems to be in hot water for some reason or other…
Quite so!
The nasty prosecution woman should now be arrested.
Why is the judge wearing a Barrister's wig ?
It is actually a judges court wig Brian. They are similar, but there are no curls at the side and back, like a barrister.
Thanks. I was basing it on 'research' gleaned from the TV show "Judge John Deed" ! I stand corrected and "apologise unreservedly to the Court"@@manfromnocky
Hyacinth! 😂
Ladynonces?! Crown Court sure was racy back in the day !
Hyacinth made it!!
Another not guilty .don't bielive this.
Was anyone ever found guilty ?
@@mrmanning3807 oh yes - one was even sentenced to death. I'll let you look up that particular episode. Quite a climax to it.
There is a smelly elephant in this room.
You may differ. All transgenders IMO. Do some research.
