I remember that Punch booth it was bigger than any i have seen. you can just make out the landrover that carried it parked behind. Easily the best show ever and he had a REAL dog Toby!
Brilliant way to travel, even now, but the modern track removed the sound of wheels passing over rail joints, and the old trams were the most beautiful designs ever invented, and were created in the 1930's. Look for a book called "Blackpool by tram" TPC books by Palmer and Turner, worth every penny if you think as I do.
Blackpool was fantastic then, it ought to be even better now. As a child I went there every year for three one week holidays in flats up south, Whitsuntide, Barnsley feast week and for t'lights at end of October. The cheap flights to Spain started the demise and even recently my favourite hotels or "guest houses" are plagued each year by new regulations that are invented by the local council and "our" government. Its a cameo of the U.K. situation. Still has magic for me but I wouldn't walk between the Gynn and talbot square after dark. I don't live in the UK anymore and my wife needs a visa to go there. Unless she takes an inflateable and blacks her face up, that is.
