For any kind of production or video editing work, the a750/a770 are pretty much unmatched in terms of price to performance. Plus, AV1 encoding on the cheap.

Thank you, Danny! 👍🏼 I'm hanging onto an ASRock Phantom Gaming ARC A770 (that I picked up during the holiday sales for $300) for a future build, and I'm very grateful for the look-see. It seems like the longer I drag my heels in putting this rig together, the better the A770 becomes. And by all means, please _do_ follow up with more testing/comparisons as ARC's drivers continue to mature. (In the meantime, I'm waiting with bated breath for *Battlemage* to come to market. 🧙🏼‍♂ )

The latest drivers for my Arc A770 created a couple of errors in Device Manager, showing drivers for 'NF 12C Slave Device' and 'PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller' with the upside-down yellow triangle with the exclamation point inside. It hasn't affected gameplay in Halo MCC or Infinite, so I'll have to see if the next iteration of drivers fixes this.

Hopefully they continue to improve across the board. Good to see a 3060 is still not a bad card in 2024. Hoping I can get a few more years out of mine

My Acer Bifrost card works similar to yours hitting at least 85C at the stock settings and the blower fan gets somewhat loud as well once it goes above 81C (at 80C or below, the fan is much less audible). I'm using the Asus AP201 case with plenty of ventilation, so I'm surprised it's running that much warmer than the Asrock or Sparkle cards. I've tried limiting board power to 185W and that seems to keep it in the 70's for a slight performance hit, but wishing I didn't have to. It's still a great card and I love it for my daughter's build, but I would have probably gone with the Sparkle OC card for noise / temps if i had to do it all over again. I love this card! Intel is showing that they are indeed growing and improving this card and thus will be taken seriously in the end. I heard they are creating a different dGPU later on this year too and that will be exciting! I am very happy to see a competitor so we can hopefully get a handle on the extreme pricing of GPUs. That is one reason why I could not go with Nvidia at all even though I think they have good cards. Way too pricey and too much market power and then they charge much higher than they need to. I can't blame them if people are willing to pay those insane prices.
I would love to see another contender too like Qualcomm etc create a dGPU. They can even keep the mobile name since I like the name Adreno. Maybe Adreno D or something like that. Something that could be super efficient and yet still powerful I could see them doing if they put resources into it. I truly have a feeling they could pull it off. Just wishful thinking I suppose, but not impossible. If there was that much competition the market would shake up a bit and it would benefit everybody instead of just Nvidia and partially AMD. I don't think anybody would complain about a price drop, especially from Nvidia.
AMD does do a good job and a lot of friends of mine who use open source operating systems prefer their cards since Nvidia drivers can be a pain. I'll need to try the a770 with open source myself since I don't know if it's the same experience. I'm hoping that Intel will also provide great open source support which would again place Nvidia in last place when it comes to open source support, especially if you have a mobile Nvidia laptop as Optimus doesn't always work well. Keep it up Intel!

Intel only has to compete with AMD for the second place, and they are doing a great job at that. They also have much better, cleaner drivers now than both AMD and Nvidia.
One other thing Intel cards seem great at is non-gaming, AI workload, like Stable Diffusion, an area in which AMD simply can't compete at the moment. There are now workarounds for some AMD cards, like ZLUDA (basically a CUDA emulator), but it's been hit and miss - mostly the latter.

Wrong CPU used for the INTEL. It hinders the performance fair bit. INTEL is all about pairing to the CPU. Also has to be said I get those 1440p FPS numbers for the A770 at 4k. Another point is you can't compare INTEL FPS to FPS. For example 4070ti gives a great result on 1440p but 192 bus from the 4070ti can't do 4k nor can 128 bus from the 3060. Yes on paper 4070ti can do twice the FPS compared to A770 but it is a stuttery mess and won't give a good experience. A770 most is playable and with RT. I'm just pointing to a card that is leaps over the RX 7600 and RTX 3060. XeSS XMX that is for INTEL cards and XeSS DP4A for customer open source cards. The programs are not the same. Two different programs and I have no idea why would they name them so similar and confusing. But XeSS XMX is as good as DLSS but XeSS DP4A is not. But when you test with AMD CPU it will not work optimum. To understand the architectures of INTEL vs AMD/Nvidia is vital when comparing. INTEL pairs with the CPU splitting the tasks between GPU/CPU and then bringing it together to make a frame with lot less queuing that results very small frame time. AMD/Nvidia do most of the executions in the GPU and this results queuing and inconsistency, longer frame time and broken frames. Result is that you need twice as much FPS and even then it will stutter from bad frame time. People and reviewers haven't caught up to this yet because there has always been just two with very similar architecture. Hence INTEL PresentMon to tune and spot bottlenecks and to find the best pairing. The point made is that if ARC is level in comparison in reality it is hitting lot higher. You can see this well if you compare the 1080p/1440p/4k. More you demand less the drop compared to the competition. You can think this as follows. 1080p you get 100FPS but when you double that you get 200FPS that might be the limit for the game. So you are getting the max offered. 1440p you might get 80FPS but when you double it you get 160FPS. And as follows for 4k similar number would be 70FPS that doubles to 140FPS. This is the weird observation that everyone can make that when the load gets bigger and more is demanded less the FPS drops. Reason why I'm talking "doubling" is because you also have two elements CPU and GPU both working hard because of the different architecture. You get 1 Frame but in reality if compared you can count that as double as 2. So if the frame limit of the game is 200FPS we only see 100FPS from INTEL that is still matching the performance of 200FPS from other cards. The proof also lies on the RT. As you know RT drops the FPS lot less on INTEL. That number also should be doubled and suddenly it is matching the competition with the extra workload. Pretty hard to explain to be honest but when you figure it you also see where the ARC is actually hitting. It might not be actually double but it wouldn't be far from it.

@@xslockdown Yes. It has been proven to be so. Also the gap is getting wider as the drivers mature. My opinion is and it is just an opinion that when the ARC was first launched it had to work with AMD and INTEL CPU equally to sell. But now it has been shown that with INTEL there is good gain and it seems that we will see this more with Battlemage. Look into Intel® Application Optimization (APO) that you get with 14th gen INTEL CPU. Not big yet but it is coming. The small sample we have indicates 10-50% jump in performance and this would also include Alchemist. ARC is pretty cheap compared and the performance is equal to GPU's that are double the price. I see this because INTEL uses the ARC for marketing their CPU's.
