You've done it again... convinced me that I need to get more fish and plants. Your videos continue to be the highlight of my YT experience. Not only are you a complete joy to listen to and watch, but you pack loads of vitally important information into each recording. Let's not overlook the tips and tricks you slide in as well. The hobby is quite costly and limitless when it comes to ideas, so getting unexpected advice on how to cut costs and maximize what you have is helpful. As soon as I move out of my apartment and into my first home, I'm totally creating a dedicated fish room. My imiganation is in hyper-drive, thanks to your super clean and engaging videos. Everything about your channel is brilliant! Cheers to you.
I've building and enjoying aquascapes for years now and followed your channel since the old studio. In all that time I've never seen you try a set up with an eel; I'd love to see that! I've had a yellow spiny eel for years now and its never got bigger that 8in and I think you could design and amazing set up for one, or a few.
Keyhole cichlids are such an underrated fish! I love them! Fun personalities & generally nice to other tank mates. Makes me sooooo happy seeing the Keyhole cichlids doing so well!
Definitely a dream tank that keeps getting better. Hoping to see that cory action soon as I love those buggers. And for all the amazing fish in there, the glowlight tetra stand out to me the most.
I never use gluteraldehyde with livestock. I sometimes use it on moss in quarantine. So if I have a wad of moss so full of hair algae that I can't separate all of the algae, I put it in a container of water with some drops of the stuff and leave it on a window sill. The algae will die and I can rinse the moss and use that again.
The tank looks absolutely gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing videos of its development. It’s so satisfying to see more fish being added I was really excited to hear you mention putting cory cats in, as they are my favorite fish. I rarely see enough of them housed together to show schooling behavior. I’m really looking forward to seeing a group of them in go in!!!
This tank is so fantastic MD, I absolutely love it. I love the mix of fish and the hardscape/plants are of course beautiful. This is what I hope to do on a smaller scale, largish tank with lots of smaller fish. Wonderful showpiece aquarium for your gallery. Thank you for the video.
Such gorgeous fish to live in an amazing tank!! So happy for you and the fish. I loved seeing the saltwater tank; I could just sit and watch it and all of your other tanks for hours!
Had a good idea for your inline UV scrubbers If you were to plumb BOTH units off of ONE filter you would double contact time with the UV which, if you didn’t know, is where the magic happens. 😊
The Utopia aquarium sounds like it is just amazing! I wish I could see it in all its splendor! Also, hearing you talk about your first experiences with the saltwater tank takes me back. I remember my first saltwater tank and watching everything that happened as if it was the first time again. I truly do love your channel man. Keep up the great work!🐠🦯
Love waking up to a new MD video, thank you for all you do man. I’m not even a fish keeper, but you’re videos are inspiring me to give it a go in the near future. Cheers mate!
So I started up my first tank in over 20 years about the same time you started up this one. I planted loads of plants when I filled it up, and the plants are doing well. I added API beneficial bacteria upon filling and I have been waiting for the tank to cycle. Things are coming along nicely for me. My Ammonia is finally steady at 0 but my Nitrites are holding steady at .25ppm. I've been waiting for the Nitrite to drop to 0 before adding any fish. Its actually been a lot of fun for me to watch my tank evolve. My driftwood grew (and still has) a giant gelatinous substance I understand to be white algae or fungi. Its starting to slowly dissolve or whatever, its working on its exit. I had a massive bioflim issue on the surface, I ordered a surface skimmer... but by the time it arrived the biofilm exited immediately after I had a 2 day bloom of diatom algae. The tank just filled with nasty brown algae which after two days just disappeared. Now the surface is nice and clean, without the skimmer. I guess what I am getting at is, I think you would get a lot of views if you did a brand new setup and just took us through the phases of its establishing. Maybe a series... or just one video which you take a good long while to film, but then release as one video. If anyone else is like me, they have been motivated to start up a new tank, or get back into the hobby by your channel. You would get a lot more new subscribers when they search for videos like that. Show us how bacteria blooms, algae blooms, plants melt back and regrow, etc. You have to know new people are inspired by your builds, help us be successful by giving us peace of mind that the scary things that happen are completely natural and not to panic. :)
if you take a look at this series, you will see that I've encountered and now resolved everything you have just mentioned. It's all normal for a new aquarium.
Try blowing off your zoa with a pipette. Other than that they’re just strange stubborn buggers in my experience. If all parameters are good give it a couple more weeks if still closed move it to the sand, it will stop being grumpy 😅
I have golden wonder killis and they've grown and settled in...they have gorgeous super intense pink tips to their fins. I love killis! It's my first time owning some. Mine are also massive. I didn't know they would get so big but I am in love with them.
i find myself enjoying the worker/clean up crew fish the most enjoyable in my tank... the corydoras are fun to watch and dropping in an algae wafer 'summons' my bristlenoses almost immediately, very entertaining!
Congratulations on the tank! I just watched this "What is The Best Fish Tank Size Ever? What The Experts Have to Say!" (4.48) the other day with you in it, talking about how one cant have an 8ft. Great to see you reaching ur goals :) guess that day came.
That was too funny! Tell me you're raising little ones at home without saying "I'm a parent"... "Well, if I say "...do, do " I flinch. 😂 I remember the days!
A long time ago I had flag acara and an Angel together. The flag acaras were nippy with the angles, but it was a much smaller tank and less in number of each time of fish. Hopefully the way you have it set up will prevent that. I, also, love keyholes. I have 5 in my 5ft 120 gallon aquarium.
If you are wanting to get your clowns to host, purchase a Ritteri anemone. They are amazing and grow quite large. My clowns immediately went in and within a couple months, laid eggs under it. Pretty amazing to watch!! Best of luck!😊
I think your corals are reaching for light. Try turn up the intensity of the light by a bit and see if there is a change. Love your channel btw. You are my fav RUclipsr by far.
Great looking tank, I think your shrimp may become snacks for the cichlids, my angels devour any shrimp that make it into the main tank from the sump and will actively hunt them in my trident fern where they tend to hide out. I don't mind as they are breeding by the hundreds in my sump so free protein
Be very wary with adding the angels to the 8ft. I have a 4ft planted tank with 2 angels, they grew up with a school of 12 cardinals, i feed twice a day but when the angels got to around 3inches (body length not including tail and fins) they ate most of the cardinal tetras :/ and they were chunky 2 inch cardinals too, not young ones
Whwn you refill your co2 tanks. If you like spin the bottle it will build up a lot more pressure. You should watch and see what the pressure gets up to.
I know this sounds crazy but show your clownfish videos of other clown fish using that kind of anemone. I saw another creator teach her fish how to use it by showing them videos on an ipad against the tank. Her fish were captive-bred also. Tanks are looking beautiful
Oh I hope someone can answer this: What is that fish at 26:24 with the pretty black fins and the bright blue spot. The one furthest left. I'm just in love with that little cutie! What is it?
One of the BEAUTIFILEST Tanks I ever seen! Fresh or Salt. What a Piece, So well put together! 💯👏🏻 Definetly going to use this Tank as inspiration for my own.

The 8ft Utopia Aquarium' needs the Angles!!!
why??? they are so sluggish @@dixsigns1717
Curious, do you only do RUclips as a job or do you do tanks for others as a job?
Video 18 of asking for a tank with some freshwater dolphinfish please.

I could watch this tank for a hour straight. No talking just the different areas. There are so many places to look.
I've building and enjoying aquascapes for years now and followed your channel since the old studio. In all that time I've never seen you try a set up with an eel; I'd love to see that!

Love your videos man thank you for doing you. Gives lots of people a peaceful escape from the world for a bit
Great aquarium! You and Matt’s videos inspired me to start my first nano planted tank.
8ft is looking stunning. Salt water tank WOW
COOL AND AMAZING VIDEO🎉 18:55 🐟
Thank god for your vids. It's the only zen I get sometimes and I don't own fish or a tank at all or plan to. Keep going, don't change a thing.
I never get tired of that pearl weed carpet tank! It's so striking!
Beautiful aquarium!!!! Love the setup!!!
The tank looks absolutely gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing videos of its development. “Chunks” 14:22 definitely 🔥

MD unpacking a plant delivery on that tiny little IKEA coffee table is like me thinking I can do the shopping with just a basket. Insufficient space 😊
Had a good idea for your inline UV scrubbers

I would love to see a group of silver hatchet fish in that tank they would show well with the water surface at eye level
MD turned into Quagmire from Family Guy when he said doodoo. *Giggity*
😂😂😂😂
Love waking up to a new MD video, thank you for all you do man. I’m not even a fish keeper, but you’re videos are inspiring me to give it a go in the near future. Cheers mate!
Those Amanos will most definitely “go to town” on those thread diatoms
I absolutely love this!!! Incredible setup there. So much inspiration for us
Absolutely fantastic setup
Maybe keep the moss in a small tank until you are sure how aggressive a spreader it becomes in your water parameters. Could get out of hand.
Hitting the weekend with an MD video!
What an incredibly massive tank!! 😃🙂
I have a pair of keyholes in my 33 gallon and I absolutely love them! so much personality.
So I started up my first tank in over 20 years about the same time you started up this one. I planted loads of plants when I filled it up, and the plants are doing well. Absolutely magnificent tank!
10:00 you need a curtain on your door MD 😅
I am waiting to see you put the angels in this beautiful aquarium.
I learn something new everytime! Thanks 🎉
Awsome !
Cheers from France ❤❤❤
Echt ein wunderschönes Naturaquarium! 😍👍
Loved this video thanks for sharing. Your 8ft looks a lot better now you ve added more fish.
Dang, that tank is bigger than the couch I’m sitting on now!! Fantastic!! 😃
i find myself enjoying the worker/clean up crew fish the most enjoyable in my tank... the corydoras are fun to watch and dropping in an algae wafer 'summons' my bristlenoses almost immediately, very entertaining!
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Great utopia that you made real.❤
The zoas will be fine, just give them time :)
Tank envy. Love this
make an ecosystem tank with scarlet badis...
you will definitely love them...
I just wished the angels went in the 8ft ! great choice they'll surely thrive in there
If jumping off the ladder is a habit you can’t break easy. Get a landing pad for the floor, and try basketball sneakers. Should help the back!
I love when you speak for the fish. Reminds me of when you used to do all sorts of silly voices for them 😊❤️
nom nom nom lo. That tank is looking just incredible
Can't wait to see the Altums.
Awesome tank, I would love to see some Whiptail Catfish in that tank.
I can not wait to see the Angels in there!
Exactly good filtration and water quality there is no need for co2 to be added that’s what I found while growing plants 40 years ago❤️💚👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
not "needed" for a lot of people but my gosh I makes a difference to how plants can look for sure. Depends what look you are after.
Speaking of underrated fish; can we get an “amazing!!” For those glowlight tetras! Got to give MD proper credit for his tetra loyalty. Go team tetra!
Valisneria does not do well with co2 booster. Maybe that’s why you have a hard time growing it?
This channel is my happy place
Great update/addition video 🙂
Congratulations on the tank! I just watched this "What is The Best Fish Tank Size Ever? What The Experts Have to Say!" (4.48) the other day with you in it, talking about how one cant have an 8ft. Great to see you reaching ur goals :) guess that day came.
When do the plant orders stop coming in?! 😂
Nevaahhh
The angels might end up being very predatory.. Mine did.
so is this going to be a long term setup then?
There she is, hello anette.
Just love ur videos so much .. been watching since the pandemic & we r hooked .. u r truly talented MD don't ever stop ...
That was too funny! Tell me you're raising little ones at home without saying "I'm a parent"... "Well, if I say "...do, do " I flinch. 😂 I remember the days!
Your zoa at the bottom hasn't got enough light. It's stretched out trying to get to the light. Move it up the rock work and it will be fine.
You had me at 'moss'.
If you are wanting to get your clowns to host, purchase a Ritteri anemone. They are amazing and grow quite large. My clowns immediately went in and within a couple months, laid eggs under it. Pretty amazing to watch!! Best of luck!😊
Wary or Leery.
Weary means tired.
Wary or Leery means cautious ❤
This tank just keeps getting better. Lovely job!
PS
Stop jumping off the ladder!
What I wouldn't give to have access to plants that look that good from the supplier! Those ferns are incredible
8ft tank is absolutely awesome ❤ watching you from 🇦🇺(Australia)
I love this guys vids new interesting tanks all the time and always a great vibe listening to him talk abt the tanks
A red tail black shark might be a good addition now! 👍
Epalzeorhynchos bicolor
I think your corals are reaching for light. Try turn up the intensity of the light by a bit and see if there is a change. Love your channel btw. You are my fav RUclipsr by far.
Would love to see more salt tanks ! Jellyfish
That's is the best tank system setup that your doing so far..
and how many fish are in the tank so far..
Get Altum angels for the 8ft, they will look stunning
Great looking tank, I think your shrimp may become snacks for the cichlids, my angels devour any shrimp that make it into the main tank from the sump and will actively hunt them in my trident fern where they tend to hide out. I don't mind as they are breeding by the hundreds in my sump so free protein
I love this bro. I wish I could do at least one of your tanks 😂😂your doing very well and I love it for you my friend
Bloody brilliant!
One thing though, will the cichlids prey on your shrimps?
Whwn you refill your co2 tanks. If you like spin the bottle it will build up a lot more pressure. You should watch and see what the pressure gets up to.
You're freeing up canvases for new scapes👍Maybe something different, like Brazilian style or a Diorama?
i miss the few minutes at the end of chill music and watching the tanks :')
Great Tank and Video .Are the Angels not a threat to the Shrimp ?
You have got to put some corys in the 8ft! I was thinking gold laser corys
I know this sounds crazy but show your clownfish videos of other clown fish using that kind of anemone. I saw another creator teach her fish how to use it by showing them videos on an ipad against the tank. Her fish were captive-bred also. Tanks are looking beautiful
The flag acara look like they're smiling at you
Head to a home brew shop and get a proper bottle of pressurised co2, it's far more convenient.. A decent size cylinder will last a year or more
Oh I hope someone can answer this: What is that fish at 26:24 with the pretty black fins and the bright blue spot. The one furthest left. I'm just in love with that little cutie! What is it?
Goals for sure
hey md do you have any half terrestrial, half aquatic tanks if your gallery? a paludarium could be a lot of fun and something fresh for you to try out
Please show us the Shelly tank sometime. My kids want to know how it's coming along.
Awesome aquarium❤
How often do you do water changes in your tanks.
One of the BEAUTIFILEST Tanks I ever seen! Fresh or Salt. What a Piece, So well put together! 💯👏🏻
Definetly going to use this Tank as inspiration for my own.
