I use SRAMs 52T 1x and love it. If they had made a 54t 1x, I would have gotten that instead. I push bigger gears and a 52t keeps me in the middle of the cassette for 90% of the ride.
I hear a lot of people are enjoying that 52T 1x life on the road bike. If I lived somewhere like South Florida I can see myself having a 1x on a road bike for sure! #RobbArmstrong
NICE!! I was running the 42T inner for a while but at times it was too much. The 40T is perfect for my preference of riding, 🙂 When you were on the 42/54T, what Bike were you riding? 🤔 #RobbArmstrong
I run the sram red 56/43 chainring and love it so much. I most used gear combo is 56/17 and it keeps me really centered in my cassette. Even on the hills the 43 small ring is fine since I have a 36 on my cassette
56! 😳 Ooo wee! I’d feel comfortable with the 36 out back but I dunno if I’m ready for a 56T, 😆 With your 56/43 setup, what Bike were you running that on? 🤔 #RobbArmstrong
@@robbarmstrong8702I have it on my bianchi sprint! I am in Newport Beach (socal) and there is a lot of fast group rides here that I’ll do so having that 56 can be a weapon on the flats/descents. Did a double century last month with some friends and we climbed Gibraltar (at mile 100, 3100ft of climbing) and the 43/36 was plenty for that.
I don’t have a *16T. In the past I rode a cassette, which had a 16T cog and that was a gear I didn’t like, ☹️ The cassette I run now goes: 15/17/19/21/23, which is a consistent 2T jump. Comfy for Me is 17 & 19 between 85-95 cadence. #RobbArmstrong
@@robbarmstrong8702 i got a rotor vegast crankset and rotor chainrings are kinda expensive so i’d say valur but still want something where i can sprint knowing that it won’t break

When I was on SRAM I ran the 54/41T, 10/33 and I liked it! I prefer a 54/40T though so I got rid of the SRAM and went back to Shimano. I think you’ll be fine. If you need just a lil more range I’d suggest a 10/33 out back. Have you ridden it at all yet? #RobbArmstrong
Thanks for your response. I have only rode indoors. I just did the upgrade over the weekend. I went with a 10-28 cog as it was suggested. I originally wanted a 52t/39 10-33. These ratios are all new to me. Both of your videos make a lot of sense
I will warn you… The 54/41T setup is CRAZY expensive! Like $1,500 bucks! 🥴and requires the use of a SRAM Red front DR, which it comes with. But, I dropped a link to it below. They only have one left in-stock! So if you want it, jump on it because they usually go pretty quick. #RobbArmstrong SRAM Red 54/41T ChainRing PwrMeter Kit alnk.to/4qLg5n2

Hi man, just seen your vid, is PASS QUEST really good value? I'm planning on buying their 54/40 for my bike but i don't see a lot of review about it.
There are a few other options available.
Question: What’s more important to you, value or performance?

Hard to find a chainring bigger than 50 for Sram. Really great for TT use since you can then maintain a straight chainline.
RIGHT! I had to do some searching but I knew they existed somewhere.

@@robbarmstrong8702Any tips for where to find the 54T chainrings for Sram and what the approx cost is?
with all these gears.. what about performance.. lets see your strava logs :))

So I just upgraded from a sram 48/36 to a 54t/41 and 10/28 in the back. Wondering if I jumped up to much. I do crit races

I am also going to get into TT at some point. So I guess have the 54t in the long run is ideal
Hi can I check where do you guys get the 54/41 sram chainring? I tried searching online but nothing comes out.
