It is possible to disguise predatory behaviour with humour. It is possible to pretend not to grasp or to deliberately ignore explanations and warnings. It is possible to have a compulsion to behave inappropriately and push sexual boundaries with women until a man is stopped only by other men or by an employer. It is possible that a man could get a sexual kick out of humiliating women or talking about sex with or in front of women. Or using sexual talk to intimidate women and exert male dominance and power over them.
Gregg Wallace isn’t Jimmy Savile. Wallace seems to be a very emotionally immature man, if anyone criticises his behaviour he blames them rather than looking at himself. One thing should be said when Wallace appeared on Strictly back in 2014 the BBC showed a training video during the programme either on It Takes Two or the main show where there was an incident due to the fact he doesn’t wear pants as he insisted on telling his uncomfortable partner Aliona Villani. The BBC didn’t speak privately to Wallace about this instead they chose to show the clip as a “humorous” wardrobe malfunction moment. The point is Wallace doesn’t seem to have been discouraged but encouraged to behave in this way.
I think all this symbolises why the workplace is such a boring, bland, soul-less environment now. I remember in workplaces of the past we (both men and women) would joke around with one another, often inappropriately (by today's so-called standards at least). Today the office is almost completely humourless and without soul, probably mainly out of fear of jokily uttering something somebody can't take. Yeah if someone's particularly uncomfortable maybe something official needs to be said, but the general alternative is that people toughen up and take things with a pinch of salt when they're not actually being harmed.

Whoever it was then wanted someone from the veg side of food/cooking, Wallace was in those days a "rough diamond" with the gift of the gab. (how he has changed since joining Master Chef 19/20 years). This type of behaviour would have been not shocking in the 70s but day by day month by month year by year court case by court case this behaviour has changed . The pendulum has swung completely in the other direction were personal boundaries dominate everything.. how a man in his 60s who is a famous public figure seems to have culturally went to sleep from the mid 70s is very very strange .. how does he not know better ???? And by the way part of me would want elements of our culture from the 70s to return

It is obvious from your comment, that you haven’t got a clue bout this important subject sir. 1)There is a power imbalance in this situation. 2) The patriarchy have conditioned women to ‘go with the flow’ and not be objectionable. 3) Have you been touched sexually, without your consent? What if a huge man did the same thing to you, would you object, at the risk of causing a scene in a tv studio, potentially lose your place in this contest and potentially getting physically hurt? It’s all ‘political correctness gone mad’ if you have male privilege- until it happens to you. To have empathy, you have to be willing to place yourself in someone’s situation, give it a go, especially if you have a wife, daughters, or female relatives.
Some women might have done, but a lot of women would have frozen, been shocked, and not known how to react. It's very common. Whilst it’s unacceptable for people to act in this way in any environment, we have to accept that some individuals don’t have filters, this is also visible in female culture if they are part of the laddet circles which is all too prominent in modern society, I would call it out no matter which gender but at the same time there is always the idea that it was just banter and if you’re able conduct yourself you must have the wherewithal to be able to demonstrate to anyone that their intentions are reciprocal, it would appear from the information so far that these individuals were within shouting distance of crew members which would allow anyone the space to remove themselves from a threat, so I think it’s time to sort out the BBC (British Brainwashing Corporation) and change the agenda.

Anyone who watched him in four or five shows and didn't see this in him was blind. I always wondered what he brought. That part of London has cheeky chappies by the bucket load.
There. Thank you
what do his lawyers know , were they there ??
"He's only had 13 complaints out of over 4000". I would suggest that is 13 too many. The BBC has to take some responsibility as they aired Masterchef on their channel.
The problem is that the reaction is typical when inappropriate behaviours are called out -Denial, Gaslighting, Victim Blaming. The fact that he does not appear or accept what unacceptable behaviours are typical of what happens - unacceptable behaviours have been “normalised” by seniors in the organisation. Under legislation we have a breech of 2010 Equality Act with harassment whatever the demographics of the individuals impacted. At the end of the day it’s a major cultural issues which have to change.
Can't stand him. Several times married, babies all over the place
Who Rod ? 😂😂😂
Rod is one many stars who is known to have "hung out" with 13yr old groupies!! Let's delve into your past rod, you ridiculous looking creep
Why was there no on going effort to act in all these years by the victims. Its been years.
BBC after me to pay tv 📺 license 😂😅 go away leave me alone don't even watch tv channels anymore five years now ✋️
Go to their website and declare that you do not need a licence because you never watch tv. They will leave you alone for two years and then you have to make the declaration again.
It doesn’t matter what the demographic of the complainant is. I’m unsure why Wallace would try to use this as a defence
Bbc didn't listen about Savile.
Will no doubt complain about being cancelled, whilst clearly still having a voice. GB News are calling Greg, you can join the other professionally angry presenters
ignore the war. focus on this instead.
Yes, a distraction for the flock.
Same old same old.
To be fair there is a lot on times radio about war
Yes 👍 once again!
I thinks it irks him that his much younger wife would not give him the time of day if he did not have the money.
Two -days Talking about Gregg.
No Days spoken on Grooming Gangs 1997 ~2019
Plenty of documentaries on grooming gangs, the BBC is a grooming gang 😂
I cannot understand why people take so long to report these incidents and once one has reported it then more seem to jump on the band wagon. And when the word compensation come up it's amazing how it jogs people memories even 30 years later , Harrods !!!!!
The guy's a creep!
Greg should have said "oops sorry, I'm an old dinosaur, I never meant any harm and I will be a good boy in the future." he has just poured oil on the fire.
Its 2024 havent we moved on from Carry On movies. Its not fun for the women and its not funny. How would he like it if women gave him a sack tap. Guys stop it NOW .
Well said
Exactly my thoughts. These types of people only 'get it' when they experience something humiliating and disrespectful themselves
Funny how all these women only make a complaint when the supposed perpetrators have got a bit of money in the bank.
Would you tend to hear about perpetrators who are poor and unknown? I'm sure if you popped down to the local station they could give you a number of examples of it happening but it's not going to be on the Times.
All a bit of a molehill in a teacup.
The BBC won't be sacking Gregg for these inappropriate doings, that they complaining about. What they really would sack him for is him "saying " handful of middle class women of a certain age. Course that's what these women are really 👺👹 🥵😡 about.
1:51 Hang on, so one minute Emma Kennedy is implying she literally saw Gregg manhandle a woman's bottom, then the next minute it turns out she could actually see what happened from where she was and is basing her claim on the woman's reaction? Sorry Emma, but that's poor form. If you said this in a court of law, defence lawers would immediately dismantle you. Nonsense like this is why accusations (which may be valid) are so hard to take at face value.
I think it's perfectly reasonable of her to say _"It appeared that he touched her, but I can't be sure."_ She's just relaying what she witnessed honestly, without overstating or understating her claims.
He was always a creep
Nice photo you've got there.😈
Jealous much?
@@irqittuq415 of what?
Stop making excuse for this predator!!!
I think you are exaggerating, banter isn’t predatory.
Ex football hooligan what do you expect really ?
He was a well known figure back in the day. His name was well known before he even got in to TV. He always had a couple of birds on his arm and was real flash
This clowns time is up on Television
I thought he said 'Women of a certain age' not celebrities. The phrase is fairly offensive as you wouldnt say 'Men of a certain age' in the same disparaging way.
You might if they were handsy old men like this! From a generation that doesn't get it.
And he - ironically - is the same age himself.
People make unflattering comments about older men all the time.
@@jimbeans2466 Come back, Jim when you've viewed the google search returns for _Men of a Certain Age_ versus those of _Women of a Certain Age._ I make this specific suggestion because you appear to be the kind of person the ironic use of hashtag #notallmen was invented for.
Meanwhile, best keep your trap shut, mate.
He's on Masterchef, not Carry On.
This interviewer came very close to prompting a guest (complainant) into calling Gregg Wallace a racist. Not On, Not fair, ignore her.
Whilst absolutely unacceptable, why wait all this time before reporting it ?
But she reported it at the time, nothing was done.
She told him to his face and then reported it she said that out loud at least two times.
Seems like he's had feedback throughout his career, but not from anyone he'd listen to or respect, i.e. not his bosses. Also, for people other this particular lady who *did* speak to him, others might not have felt brave enough to come forward. There is strength in numbers; people will have realised now that they aren't the only one and they weren't being overly sensitive (or whatever might have held them back).
Why all this time before it's being taken seriously, is my question.
Unacceptable in your opinion. To me, as long as it's not physical or in front of children people can say what they like, if you are offended, be offended, nobody cares.
@@JohnSmith-it6hj it was physical.
Could he go to jail for this ?
he’s been the top story for 3 days. you’d think the guy was jimmy saville.
Ask Sir Starmer about Savile.
Maybe he is like Saville. Who knows what went on? He was high up in the BBC. You don't get to that position by being nice.
Yes, everything less than Saville is Ok. Why are these women moaning.
Oh, you may have touched on a grain of truth there.
I think that any man that does anything that any woman objects to should serve a life sentence in prison
I never liked his pastie's any way . Greggs
He has crude humour? Oh well that's enough to condemn him then.
Crude? Please!
@@irqittuq415 Pervs defending pervs. Always happens.
@irqittuq415 isn't that what she said?

thank you for breaking it down….I can't recommend Shellane Maxwell enough! With her expert guidance, I successfully flipped my first property and made a profit of $180,000. She provided invaluable insights on market trends and investment strategies that truly made a difference. Thanks to her, I feel confident in my real estate investments and excited about my financial future!

She's my family personal Broker and also a Broker to many families here in the United states, she is a licensed Broker.
We riding for Gregg. We aren’t believing in these people’s hearsay, the women in the video didn’t even know what she saw ffs.
Would this be ok for him to do this to your family's kids , friends kids . Oh greg being greg ... . Kids , young women , are a no go area . .
Everyone get a grip!!
Did you watch the video?
That's what everyone is complaining about.
Greg got a grip, and that's when the trouble started.
I have watched Greg Wallace for years tasting ice cream scones fish potatoes bread fish soup meat fruit pies and stews ……
I have watched Greg Wallace on the factory programmes ….. BUT NOW
all of that is replaced with THIS ❤
If I remember correctly Gregg Wallace used to work on a stall in Covent Gardens. In those days those stall owner/workers could talk a hind leg off a donkey or their patter was/is so good that your money had left your possession & was in their wallet b4 you realised what you had bought. Whoever it was then wanted someone from the veg side of food/cooking, Wallace was in those days a "rough diamond" with the gift of the gab. (how he has changed since joining Master Chef 19/20 years). As a viewer i have never been fond of him - You can take the man out of "the market stalls but you can't take market stalls out of the man.
At a guess b4 Wallace joined Master Chief he knew of dressing up but I doubt weather he owned a dinner suit. While he was with Master Chef a lot of water has gone under the bridge. He's seen a lot of presenters come & go, I think that he was the longest serving member of the team. He will miss that earner & the perks that went with the job.
We haven’t had a good cancellation in a while. Looking forward to this one. It’s like the hunger games 🎉
What's the cheeky chappy Greg done now....
I want to hear what John Torode thinks.
Lighten up for heavens sake!
Todd Packer from the US version of The Office
Another million cancel their licence..
The host just butted in when emma was explaining it all, like she felt she had to interrupt and say something to control the conversation back to her so we all missed out.
Guilty by slander with ZERO proof,
Even the Victorian music halls saw the funny side of life. I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts!
Witch hunt they should have complained on the day
This type of behaviour would have been not shocking in the 70s but day by day month by month year by year court case by court case this behaviour has changed .
He is not funny at all
Not defending old gregg . But this is why there's no comedy shows on tv . Because everyone whats to be offended by everything . The women should of told him there and then about his behaviour Not wait years later
So you can't defend him by pointing the finger at the women, who may have felt the power disparity between themselves and a powerful figure in the BBC, and not known how to react at the time.
@@bec5250 it appears my long comment to OP has disappeared. It would be ironic if OP states that people are too sensitive, then reports my response 🤣 Maybe it will reappear, as there was nothing offensive in it. I agree with your comment, wholeheartedly.
20 hours worth of comments getting blocked/deleted
Even Huw Edwards wasnt victim of such a witch hunt!
Gregg comes from a time when men were men, not servile little woke puppets. I’ve had a woman smack my backside, did I wait for ten years or more to report this terrible indignity that has totally wrecked my life and made me terrified of all women? What’s this world common\ing to?
You don’t get it either. Noted.
As long as 'when men were men' doesn't include sexism and paternal dominance.
these are the same feminists that have just facilitated tens of thousands of violent misogynists coming here from sex crazed warzones without any documentation or ability to carry out any background checks.
Men can be men.
They just can't be entitled King Cnuts and expect no repercussions, 'Trevor'.
People didn't wait; they simply weren't listened to. Chiefly because of reactions like yours, Mastertwat.
Why didn't you report it?
Ahhh he doesn’t understand…so that’s why he does it…right
Lets not forget the 'Fundamental' fact that people are innocent until proven guilty. Just because someone accuses someone else of wrongdoing does not meen they are guilty. Also, let's not forget the 'Fundamental' fact that what one person finds funny another person finds offensive. We have got to stop this cancel culture. A totally independent investigation should be carried out. Until then reserve judgement and keep and open mind!
Yes i agree, its getting ridiculous
You are right, and thats exactly what is happening. What's this 'cancel culture' you are talking about ? No one has canceled Greg, he just did some stuff, and there will be an investigation into it. simples.
@@helenrushful. I agree! The idea of cancel culture comes from the people who want to stop being investigated for their misdeeds.
@@helenrushfulHe has already been cancelled. He won't work in TV after this. This is what is wrong and sad with these situations. He is guilty by media and it's wrong. There needs to be a change of law that people who have been accused of wrong doing should not be named publicly until a full independent investigation has been carried out. Then if that investigation has found the accusations accurate then it should be referred to the police for further consideration. Unless the police charge and then the CPS allow it to proceed to court then, only then, should the person be named. Enough is enough with cancel culture.
@@myrants5836however I don’t know about you, but I’ve worked throughout my life and nobody has ever made a complaint about my professional conduct, even one complaint would make me reflect on my behaviour. How many times has a celebrity been thrown 'under the bus' in recent years, and, importantly, how many that worked for, or were heavily involved with the BBC??
BBC celebrities are protected.
I draw your attention to Savile, Brand, Edwards.
Name a celeb who was thrown under a bus ?
Wallace is a cringeworthy pest, why is that a secret ? If you want to watch him that’s your choice.
let me see if I got this straight.. she told people BECAUSE she thought the woman was going to tell someone, no because it was wrong. Got ya!

He is tone deaf! The t shirt slogan today says it all 😡
Offence archeology
Its not funny, he would have got a thrill ( how could touching a women. Not do that) It would trigger a fear response even for a split second, its humiliation, and he has more power to get his way.
All women have met men like this.
Middle class women= what other class works in show business?. Of a certain age= probably have the confidence to speak up whereas younger women dont. He is use age against women.
