Dude, have fun!! But just make sure you dont hang around the wring people, remember you are there for one thing and one person, to get your wings and for yourself! Airborne All the Way!
Curious about the flex arm hang... I heard that if individuals are unable to do so they are put on a machine to test if they can just hold their body weight... is that for the flex arm hang or the pull ups? Thanks.
Hey Laura, im not too sure if they are put on a machine. When do you leave for airborne? If you have time you can practice before you leave for Benning.
I went to Airborne School in 1968 and we ran everywhere. No walking. Sometimes they would wake us up at about 3 in the morning just to see our stand in the door positions. But that was then. Don't know if its changed since then.
Were you able to rest during the pushup portion of the pt test or did you have to do 42 without resting? Could you change the position between your hands
I saw what happened to b-Btry 1/320 (abn) f.a.. During Gallant Eagle 82. But I still volunteered to do it. Every body looked at me like lost my. Marbels. I went the 320th. Reg. Where I volunteered for b-Btry. 25 jumps and the Canadian parachute badge. Plus there is no feeling you get when you lace up your shinny(like glass) pair of jump. Boots in your dress uniform.
Davion West Mind me asking why you want the 173rd compared to other units? I got a 11x contract with an option 4, and it states that I would be assigned to the 173rd. What makes the 173rd different from the other division (other than size).
Primetime 04 It's based upon age. When I went in back in '86,I believe our time was,64 push ups in two minutes for those aged between,17 to 21,and a two mile run in 15 minutes.(Pardon me if my numbers aren't correct,it's been34 years).Army rules and regulations are forever changing....-
I got thrown into the 41 club in 10/2017. Made my chin and chest hit the board four times, started bleeding from my chin and Sgt Airborne still counted 41 xD. Did the exact same thing the next day and did 42 push ups with no problem haha
1978; little different. First 7 days was all road work mornings, classes for 4 hours, evening road work. I'd already jumped paracommanders and squares with dad. So, I had to make it. I liked your video. You have great stage presence.

No, when you go see your local recruiter, they’re going to have you take the ASVAB test which will determine what jobs you qualify for. If you qualify for a certain job, for example 68W Healthcare Specialist/Combat Medic, there might be some options that pop up regarding that MOS (job). When I went in and got my MOS (68W), I had option 40 (Ranger) and 4 (Airborne). When you pick a job that has either option 40 or 4, you will get to go to Airborne school.
