Wearing the ascots around your neck in OCS for 3 months looks very uncomfortable especially when walking outside in the summer.

Hello. I'm a retired Army vet on the enlisted side, and my daughter wants to be an officer. She is a 4-year college graduate, 4 year high school JORTC and would like to work on the medical side of the Army. So far she has made a 73 on the practice test. Her Army recruiter isn't being helpful, though. He's not helping her obtain an OCS packet, instead is telling her to enlist and then go "Green to Gold." Yeah, about that. What's the best way for my daughter to get connected with an officer recruiter who can help her get the OCS packet started? Great job with the information!!! Thanks

As I was watching this, I was guessing you were in A Co. And you confirmed it, haha. Your experience sounds much harsher than my company's. We had 45 minutes to shower and change after PT, and if we were running late because we went to TAP-C, cadres gave us extra time and marched us to DFAC. Almost everyone, if not all, used red light once they got into the bushes, and nobody got caught. Perhaps you can also guess which company I'm in. XD Btw, we now take two ACFTs, one for class-up and one for phase-up. I was told by the cadre that it's a recent change. And I think it's 10m? We went fast af for the ruck march. Even the commander was panting, and it was def not the pace on SOP (17 mins +- 30 secs, I think?), but nobody failed. Also, as of now, TBB is only for in-service people. If you're 09S, including the prior services who are coming back, you'll be fighting for OML. Things might change in the future, though.

She will be paid as that enlisted rank until her officer pay catches up Army doesn’t decrease only increase. She will receive E pay for O1-3 as well to boost pay for prior enlisted officers.

    • @adriangonzalez9973

Work on your sprints and get on long distance runs. Start with one mile 3-5 time a week in your first week to acclimate and build endurance. Then increase your run the following week between .5-1 mile so the following week you can run 1.5 or 2 miles depending on how you feel. Keep adding distance and keep sprinting!
