Beautiful place, looked like such a good time. Can’t wait to get back into the mountains myself to film some of my own adventures. I love the feeling watching those dark storm clouds build.
I'm pretty new to Arizona and I was kinda looking into places to camp and fly fish and stumble upon your channel. You are a true lover of the outdoors and it shows. Definitely a subsricber. Thank you.
Hey Chris, loved your video. We live in a beautiful place don't we? And to add to that, great fishing here as well. You're the type of guy I'd love to learn how to fly fish from. Been traditional fishing all my life but my dream is to learn and enjoy fly fishing. There's something to be said about the skill of it all, not just dropping a line and waiting(anyone can do that). I know you don't know me from a hill of beans but if you'd ever like to teach someone, and great company while doing it, let me know. I live in the White Mountains and fly fishing is calling me! Keep on making great videos! Mike.
@@AZFlyShop That would be great! Although I don't know how we contact each other minue me putting my number in a message which I'm hesitant to do. I'm actually goingto head out for a day trip today and get some fishing in. Traditional style of course, since I wouldn't know where to begin with fly fishing right now.
Good stuff, I love small stream fly fishing. Just curious, if you were fishing upstream of the fish barriers why did you catch only browns? No Apaches?
You call it the creek about 300 times but I still have no idea what Creek you're talkin about!! I spent eight years in the White mountains and I know just about every Creek from East fork to Paradise Creek ta sheeps crossing etc. For all I know you could be at the upper end of East fork or you could even be at reservation Creek or many others but I sure wish you would say which Creek you're at!! I used to hike all over the White mountains in the late 1960s and early seventies when they're were no " closed area keep out" signs and no regulations! That's when it truly was a paradise and you didn't have to pay anywhere to camp and it was only 50 cents for kids and .75 cents for adults to fish on the reservation!! Please say what Creek you're on!
@@AZFlyShop that is kind of close to reservation Creek. That's runs right between Big lake and Reservation lake right under mount Thomas! One of the most beautiful places on this Earth I think!! Thank you for letting me know where that is!!!
Only went on one fishing trip with my dad and it was near this spot. You're right, these memories are what it's all about.
You bet 👍

Good commentary, not overdone and thorough
Thank you
I'm from the white mountain apache tribe and I miss fishing at the rivers and lakes
It’s a great place, maybe the best kept secret on earth…
Should the brown trout caught above the fish barriers be removed for the Apache Trout's sake?
👍

Hawley lake one of the most beautiful in the state
Gotta say. This is the kind of place I'd be using tenkara. Rocky runs are where that technique shines for me.

Those are beautiful wild trout. Do ou come across other campers and outdoorsman while out there?
I almost always meet other outdoors people, when I’m out in the wild.

You can camp on the creek. This is in the White Mountains of Arizona, the Black River, Thompson Trailhead.
