I Love Lucy Best Moments Part 2: Now in Color!

- Note about Colorization: This video is colorized by me, not CBS. When CBS colorizes something, they take the time to go frame by frame. This video is colorized by artificial intelligence, and although it's gotten very good at pictures, it still has some ways to go with video. Because of this, I feel the colors look muted and very warm. In the future, I will continue to upload my I Love Lucy In Color Series (which is colorized by CBS and looks perfect) and will also upload my black and white best moment series (as there are way more episodes that are only in black and white then those colorized). When I upload a black and white video, I will upload a colorized version as well, it won't look amazing but think of it like a bonus.

Thanks Ross, the remastering and colorization jobs are simply SUPERB! Not a flaw in any of the chosen sequences. I loved Lucy dancing the Charleston at Ballet class. Really hilarious!!! This gal is truly timeless. The show have been titled not I Love Lucy, but We Love Lucy, because the whole world loved and still does love Lucy. The close-ups, mid-shots and even distant shots have top definition and clarity. Hats off to you dear Ross for an excellent joy!!!!

I am impressed that you could do such a good job by yourself. It reminds me of the first colourised movies. Although the technology has improved tremendously in the past years, I would gladly watch the entire series with that level of colourisation.

Thanks! The colorization tends to be inaccurate at some points, as it is not done frame by frame like the cbs colorization (I did this myself)!
What software did you use to colorize this? While there are purists that like seeing old footage on 16mm film (complete with dirt spots, dust scratches, jump, and audio crackle as that was how the prints were seen originally for many many years) others like the remastering and colorization of video. I like having the option for both copies.
I used the Deoldify Python API to colorize this.
Are you going to add more color I Love Lucy Monents? How about Honeymooners Monents? I know you said that you have been busy?
So sorry I took so long to get back, I've been away for a bit. I plan to eventually finish at least my I Love Lucy Best Moments in Color series (go through all the colorized episodes) because there are not tons of them, and they are well received. If I had time, I would love to continue my I Love Lucy Best Moments in Black and White Series and do best moments of shows like the Three Stooges and The Honeymooners, but the problem with at least the Honeymooners is that I don't have access to those episodes as I do with the Lucy episodes (DVD set). If you have any other suggestions though, I'd love to hear them!

Question: With the software that you are using, is it only totally automatic or do you have the ability to "select colors" for objects and other things, like, for example, Lucy's very red hair?
Her hair in here is very bland and not near the color she had in real life. So I wonder if you could have had the ability to "tell the software" that when her hair is located, to add much more red to it?
I can do that, but it then tends to over compensate so I end up leaning towards this instead!
