I was basically raised on this show, it was my mom's favorite show because it was family friendly and genuinely funny. I never got sick of watching it, and even now as an adult I never tire of it.
As a 25 year old growing up watching this show daily. This show has came my comfort show. Take a shower? I Love Lucy. Need back ground noise? I Love Lucy. I truly do wish I could have met her before she passed. It would be freaking awesome.

Most dresses and skirts used to have pockets before the 1960s. It was just assumed you'd be wearing your dresses around the house or out shopping or whatever and you might need pockets. I'd say you can kinda blame their disappearance on the popularity of the miniskirt and "wiggle" dresses later on. A lot of trendy 1960s skirts/dresses were made without pockets 'cause it would mess up the way they fell (i.e. create ugly bulges) so, we girls started to depend even more on our purses. Then, dresses started to be perceived as more of a "fancy thing" rather than something you wear every day so... slowly but surely we lost our awesome dress pockets. 😭 Most manufacturers basically became convinced we didn't need them (and they like saving the cost of extra fabric).

Last week Fred had a little headache and took to his bed moaning that he may not making it through the night. Remember when I broke my ankle last year. He tried to get me out of bed the second morning to fix breakfast he said "walking will help the bone heal" "Lucy!!" "Pardon me Ethel I am wanted in surgery" "I'll go scrub up in case you need me" LOL TOO FUNNY. SO TRUE.
I love these lines...I can say word for word half the lines that come up because I watch it so much. I Love Lucy is so funny, "it's good to know I am married to hypocrite" "Oh yeah" whispers to Ethel "What's a hypocrite?" "A person who says one thing but means another" LOVE that Ricky had to pause for a moment during his argument with Lucy because he didn't know what a word meant.
I grew up watching "I Love Lucy!" These clips made my day! I taped every episode commercial-free! This show brings me back to a much simpler time in my life. As a child, I remember my family would watch the "I Love Lucy show together from 7:00 PM-8:00 PM, then it was bedtime. In this video, I saw a small segment of how this show used, to begin with, a cartoon before they changed the beginning with the HEART Shape ❤️ with the words, "I Love Lucy!" That really brought me back in time! I hope the younger generation enjoy watching I Love Lucy, as much as those of us who grew up watching it on TV! This is comedy at its best! I laugh unbelievably loud each time I watch her say that and for far too long , and when Fred says I had it thrown at me line I burn another thousand calories laughing.
I have loved this show since i was 5 or 6 years old. I am now 62 and I have several of her videos. I never get tired of watching I Love Lucy, as well as The Lucy Show. She was definitely the "Queen of Comedy" and the "Best female actress ever. )
One of my favorites is when Lucy and Ethel decide to go on strike. They tell Fred and Ricky “We’re revolting!” And I think it’s Fred that says “No more than usual!”😂😂😂
Well, all time periods have their gems and their turds. There is as much good entertainment today as ever if you know where to look and you lose the nostalgia goggles. I will admit you have to sift through a lot of awfulness to find something good these days, but it can be very rewarding to keep an open mind about entertainment from different time periods.
We had much better lives than today. It was an innocent world, where people could laugh at themselves because they knew family is forever. So sad that Lucy was convinced Desi was disloyal to her, because she was told someone saw him walking with a woman.
The way I see it, there's two kinds of comedy. There's relevant comedy and evergreen comedy. Relevant is topical and funny TODAY, but next year? Might not be relevant or make sense. Family Guy? Recent South Park episodes? Big Bang Theory? Funny, sure, but not timeless. Shows like I Love Lucy and, say, The Dick van Dyke show? Those are evergreen - they never go bad. Most of the jokes in shows like these are just as hilariously funny as they were in the 1950's. Great show. One could say "I LOVE Lucy!"
Don't know what season this was from but it's when Lucy finally meets a girl from Ricky's past. She's so relieved when she finally comes face to face with Carlotta that she stammers, "You are so full of, well, so full of, well, so full." Love ❤ it!
I love when Lucy gets the cheese and then she dresses it up like a baby! Then the lady next to her was like “Is it a girl?” And Lucy says “No.” Then the lady asks “Is it a boy?” And Lucy says “Okay” I laugh so hard!!
No matter how many years and times I see this it always brings joy to my heart! I know the back storyline. How they were not together anymore! How they made this happen is magic to me 😙🤗
I'm seventy two years and only discovered these a few weeks ago we never had television until the early 1970 in South Africa what a great and funny show trying to catch up now 2021

Yeah tv censorship was so strict back in the 50's that after Lucy got pregnant with Little Ricky ( well Desi Jr. in real life), they made them move Lucy and Ricky's beds further apart because they didn't want people thinking about exactly how Lucy got pregnant.

One of the primary things that makes me laugh is a clean joke that's actually funny. Like the conveyor belt with the chocolates.
