"Not sure why all the Delta jets were getting de-iced and we weren't..." - that's the difference between you and me. I'd be screaming "Stop the plane!!!!"
It’s possible this airplane came in from somewhere else about an hour before and didn’t sit all night and accumulate frost on the wings. Ever think about that? Look at the wing at 13:09. It’s clean. No need to de-ice.
@@camileshakakeesic4421 I keep hearing that Spirit airlines is not well liked by many, but why? I have seen in a few videos that their tray tables are the tiniest I've ever seen, their seatback pockets are literally a couple of ropes, and that the seats don't recline at all. But, since most US domestic flights don't serve meals anymore anyway, do you need a bigger table? Most US airlines no longer have magazines so do we need seatback pockets? And, I've seen that the seats that don't recline are actually already fixed in the reclined positions, so, unlike other airlines, at least you can stay slightly reclined even at takeoff and landing. So, what exactly is so bad about Spirit airlines?
I just loved and quite a laugh out of how you described the seat and especially the "adult sized tray table you found on this flight. I remember very well the other video of yours I watched where you described the "baby sized tray table" on that flight. This one actually looked smaller. I could tell when the video first showed the seat back that this tray table definitely was not very large. Enjoy watching your videos though.
@@kquttersanford3635 Ikr I went on a flight a year later no upgrade no TVs the only thing that changes was the seats it just looked fancy and had a paint job
Great video! Love watching these. What I learned from my time deicing at PIT was it all depends on where the plane parks overnight. When I was there, Spirit was still in concourse D.
Glad you enjoy them! Yah you are correct, but most of the time they have their set gates. Spirit used to be at D for a while, now switched to B cause of the impending construction at the C and D gates
Nice video. Just fyi, there used to be pockets on the seats back in the days of the inflight magazines. These have gone away due to publishing and distribution costs, and the pockets became receptacles for gum, leftovers, trash, and worse. No pockets, no mess, no problems. Only bungees to hold the FAA required passenger safety information cards. Similarly, the large tray tables also caused problems. They were always getting broken, and people would put computers on them and bang on them and disturb the people in front of them, causing inflight altercations. So the things that the author wants aren't missing because Spirit is behind the times. The items are missing due to Spirit's experience of having had them. These new seats also reduce the weight of each aircraft by over 2,000 lbs, resulting in significant fuel savings across the fleet. When it comes to seating, Spirit's attitude is that this is as modern as it gets. Don't expect them to address complaints in this area. This is the new normal. If the seats ever do get changed out, it will only be in favor of the next generation of smaller and lighter.
I think this is your best flight video yet. The footage of the Rockies at sunrise absolutely stunning. I assume this flight was after the switch to DST. Keep the videos coming.
Pretty cool you went to in n out after the flight! The one you would have really enjoyed is the one on the other side of LAX where they all land close by on runway 24R, I’ve been there many times!
10:00 Is it just me? Or do you also puzzle out multi-lingual translations to learn new words? 😉 11:00 "Please keep your hands and arms inside the ride at all times" Etc... 17:00 Have you ever noticed the - 'ODD' brands on an aircraft menu? 20:00 There is something magical about the hum of an airliner, you know you are safe but in a time of relocation and transition...
"Not sure why all the Delta airplanes are getting de-iced while ours isn't" probably for Spirit to save money of course! Fr though, your A/C may have arrived in as a red-eye instead of spending the night at PIT so that may be why lol
Wow what a quick departure, taxis right onto what I'm assuming is Runway 28R (barely know anything about PTI Airport) and then starts its departure. Nice!
"Spirit is a ULCC which has no WiFi, no legroom, no seatback pocket, no free snacks, no free luggage, no IFEs, etc." This enables cheaper tickets which allow for people to fly from point A to point B who might not otherwise be able to afford to, and there is nothing wrong with that. The airline is upfront about it and you as a passenger know you are only getting what you are paying for. That said, what has impressed me about your flights on Spirit Airlines are the courteous and sometimes humorous cabin crews and especially the smooth take-offs and virtual, to absolutely perfect landings !! I see on-line Spirit Airlines has a fleet of 137 aircraft, 9 x A319-100, 64 x A320-200, 34 x A320neo, and 30 x A320-200 with an average age of its aircraft at 5.6 years and getting younger as new aircraft are delivered. I see it placed a new order with Airbus for 100 mixed A320neo aircraft family in January. According to Airbus the "neo" aircraft confirmed orders on its books yet to be delivered to Spirit Airlines are 41 x A319neo, 65 x A320neo, and 20 x A321neo aircraft. Airbus advises their A320neo family compared to their base model A320 family is 50% quieter, 20% more fuel-efficient, and more environmentally friendly engines, with all neo's offering longer range, larger overhead cabin bins, mood lighting. On the safety side, since its start-up in 1980, Spirit has kept an accident-free record with an ever-growing passenger base. In 2015 alone, Spirit safely delivered nearly 18 million passengers - a 25% increase from 2014. So, looking from the outside in, you have a carrier with a modern well-maintained fleet, investing in new equipment ( to keep it ahead of emission level and noise restriction standards, and plans for conservative growth ) that has an excellent safety record. Crew/Staff/Employee comments: Spirit is overall one of the most flexible companies to work for (i.e. work/life balance). Health and Flight Benefits but the pay is less than most other mainline US carriers. I believe the latter is true with all low-cost carriers. On the financial side in 2020, as a direct result of COVID-19, the airline recorded a $428.7 million net loss with assets valued at $8,399 million. This compared to an over $335 million profit in 2019. Spirit Airlines had liabilities of US$1.30b falling due within a year, and liabilities of US$4.86b due beyond that. Offsetting these obligations, it had cash of US$2.05b as well as receivables valued at US$198.1m due within 12 months. 2021 while off to a rough start has shown the situation is now picking up. I believe Spirit Airlines is here for the long term. Thank you for your reviews, which encourage me to look into an airline I knew very little about
I hadn't been on a plane in over forty years when I took an airplane last week and it was Spirit. Not too fond of flying, it did make me feel better when I did the research to find that Spirits planes were almost new compared to some of the Legacy carriers who had planes still flying at 25 years old. Also they don't use the 737 Max. On arrival in Fort Lauderdale the weather was poor so the pilot had to circle the airport a couple of times before he got cleared to land. And then when he landed we had to sit on the tarmac for an hour till the storm blew over. None of this was Spirits fault but they sent me a $50 voucher for a future flight because of this 'inconvenience' they said. They have a regular passenger in me from now on.
Ironic that only the three US ULCCs (Spirit, Frontier, Allegiant) would put in a tiny metal tray table. The other ULCCs worldwide have actual tray tables.

Yes such a terrible airline! You picked the flight to LA strictly for the cost so you know you’re not flying first class. It an A319 with cramped seating and a small tray table. Maybe that’s what makes them terrible. The plane was ready at the gate on arrival. The plane took off on time. The plane flew you safely across the country ....you arrived safely at your destination 45 minutes early. Yep what a shitty airline....get a clue!
The Big 3 are just as shitty...they just have the bells and whistles to make people not give a crap as much as long as people get there bag of peanuts they're happy
Nothing better than being on your way to vacation and watching the sunrise over the plane!!!
I laughed at the part where the flight attendant was like “we got here 45 minutes early so next time we’re 2 hours late we’ll call it even” 😂
This video gave my day even more light!😃

I really really love super early flights for some reason
I think LA always looks it's best in the morning.
They seem to cancel a lot less flights in the morning compared to the afternoon
