  • Mark, Joan and their two children work together as an unusual family of artists who epitomised 1960s Britain through their development of the 'psychedelic lightshow'. Following the family as they work together on their latest piece, this documentary challenges notions of the sole artist and explores the highs and the difficulties of working together as a family.

I remember seeing a series of the 'surface of the earth' pieces in 1976 and coming out of the exhibition looking down at the ground an d seeing things for the first time. These are works that make you _see_.

It's all so lovely. Holland Park...
What a lovely, well-off family of chancers.

The image of the art piece "Holland Park Avenue Study, 1967" is upside down. (12:41) I have seen photos of it exhibited at the Tate Gallery. Also, see the cover art to George Harrison's album "Somewhere in England" (front and back sides of the record sleeve). A Google search will confirm this.

The work can be shown both ways.

@@MontyCantsin5 Is that the artist's intention? I mean I know I can hang my own art any way I choose.

@@rr7firefly: Yes, Boyle Family's work has often been hung rotated in different ways. They don't seem too concerned about this.
