SM doesn't really give EXO the freedom to produce music yet they still do it when they're able to. The one I've seen the most good at it is probably Chanyeol. His expertise in music is just amazing to witness. He's like the main lyricist in EXO as well. But all members always give good insight into their already made music and sometimes make it better than the original.

My very first favorite album, followed by "The War" and "Don't Mess Up My Tempo" albums. And the fabulous winter album "Universe". Gosh, all their albums rock. 💙🌺
If you like songs by other SM groups that sound kinda like SHINee songs, I suggest NCT 127's Superhuman. I heard that they were thinking it'd go to SHINee, but then SHINee essentially went on hiatus due to Onew, Minho and Key going into military service and NCT did it instead (part of me wishes they saved it for SHINee, but NCT did a great job with it nonetheless). Some fans boycotted the song (for dumb reasons) and it didn't do too well...which is a shame because it's a great song!
