The year my Dad died I took his tackle box and went fishing. He made his own lures. I lost one while fishing and it broke my heart. I went a year later to that same spot, I guess God decided I needed it back. I caught it with my hook! I was soooo excited! I treasure every one of them now!

I think you two are getting "hardier" if that's even possible. This is the first video of yours where I have thought "I just couldn't", and I haven't missed a video in 3-4 years. When you were fishing and Ariels hair was all frozen you both looked so happy. Man oh man, all I can think is that you two are actually getting tougher. ♥

Epic! This adventure had it all: drama with dog sleigh so close to the edge... driving skills going up the hill... breathtaking geographic views... amazing colours palette of the sky... beautiful wildlife... undercurrent of horror films wih wolfs howling, frozen half eaten animal and bloody snow... more drama with Eric's dive over the fishing hole... unusual culinary combinations... A real firework of sensations to celebrate the new year.
Thank you so much Eric and Ariel for another inspiring year experiencing Alaska. Best wishes of happiness, health and success in 2024. Claudine xxxx

I watch you guys and it reminds me of my Dad who passed in 2020. He was stationed in Nome during his Army days back in the early 1950"s. He loved being there and had many stories. My wife and I visited Alaska for the first time in 2022. I saw the beauty in his stories come alive. Thank you for your glorious videos depicting the majestic landscape that is Alaska!

This was a great one . I am continually amazed by you all’s apparent immunity to the cold ! That fishing trip , seven hours , was numbing all the way to here in Tennessee !🥶
Fishing is my passion but I honestly feel like wilderness ice fishing is not in my definition of enjoyable.
I am now 76 years old . Duck hunting was the tops for me til the subcutaneous fat began to “age away”. When I gave that up I gave up any possibility of joining in on such a trip .
I realize that one becomes tempered to the cold . God has blessed you both in that regard.
Too bad that Caribou were not in season . You were right there amongst them . The wolves don’t have to honor our game laws . Good to know that there are still places where “ the call of the wild “ is still ringing loud and clear !
This was a 5 out of 5 ! Thanks for taking us along !!🙃👍

Thank you for sharing your interesting winter adventure. Howl of wolves in the middle of night, just a short distance away from cabin was so awesome. Eric' s invitation to everyone to leave your outhouse door open when there is a beautiful scenery outside, clicked me an interesting, but horrifying story which happened in Northwestern Ontario not too many years ago. A Winnipeg fisherman, on a fishing trip adventure for the same reason left his outhouse door open ; and then in the middle of doing his business was grabbed by a huge black bear and dragged to the nearby forest. His cry for help, and a friend running to him, with a gun, saved his life. This story is on line and you can check it out. So when you leave the door open, enjoying the scenery never forget to bring your loaded gun along.😀

Love the nature shots and you guys, of course. Wow, that would be spooky for the first time. I'm used to Coyote, with their rips like they are having a party.

Love the wolves howling, and all the wildlife, beautiful cinematography, gorgeous part of the world. I would freeze my arse off over there. I laughed my guts out, at Eric's save, grabbing his fish, should try out for cricket keeper in Australia.

You always do such a wonderful job filming the landscapes around you. This one was one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. And then all those wolves howling was enough to make the hair stand up but beautiful in it's way too. Thanks so much for taking us along on your amazing journey. Have a Wonderful year.
