72 year old Grandma 73 year old Grandpa…man we love these men, and watch Truck House Life all the time! Just found it! Whooee! Thanks guys for bringing this great fun to all us “older” folks!
I'm a Grandmother too. I Love watching these types of channels because it reminds of my Daddy. It was a Dream of his. I miss him. This brings him to me somehow.
I'd take any of these backcountry problems over any city life problems. That's just how some of us are wired. We are a fam of 4 and considering a move from northern NY to Ak this summer.
People respect the history and amazing luxury of having a shelter in these far away places. The hard work and dedication of getting there and surviving drives the idea of respect and good will to others. Matt and Tim are the epitome of hard work, dedication and respect of these remote areas. Leaving new firewood for the next visitor and keeping the cabin in the same or better shape that it was when the door first opened. I love that attitude!
I'm 72, and my adventure days have limits now; fewer and far between. This is a great way to adventure while sitting in my own warm cabin in the woods, and reminiscing about the 'good old days'. Thanks for taking me along!
lol I watch you both. At one point you tease him about your video being the better one. I watched both and you were right. I do love both yours and Tim's work, thank you.
Imagine doing that trek back in the days of no ski-mobiles, protective warm clothing, power tools/chainsaws, easy prepare foods, etc etc imagine using dogs and horses and needing to haul food for them as well. Now we get almost live coverage of it all !!!! Thankyou for sharing an awesome adventure 🇦🇺🤗💞🙏👍👌✌️👏👊🇺🇸
I just got through watching Timmy’s video on the same three day cabinet adventure now I’m watching yours. I really enjoyed both of y’all’s videos. I really enjoy your narrating the video ….. PS it may be time to check into a electric chainsaw. I see a lot of people having good luck with them.
I am in awe how much your creativity and somber perspective in the “trees down, we’re never making it” situation out to Nugget Creek. Your music, your narration and your sense of “oh shit” totally coincides with my thoughts and behaviors. For the first 20 years of my life, I made a conscious effort to be like your friend, Timmy. But as I hit an older, more wiser stage of my life and had younger folks looking up to me, I got less adventurous because I was afraid of getting out of the woods. But something tell me, it’s trip like that build something Greater! Cheers my man! Congrats on making whatever it is you make and sharing it with the rest of us. Inspiring and brave!
45 year old grandma here lol 😂 from Manchester UK and found Timmy first and now these videos! If I ever win the lottery I want a long road trip around the states and Canada and then some heat in Mexico (I’m short and pale so probably burn very easily lol)! We never get any deep snow like this. A couple of inches and the trains and buses cannot run and schools shut. Need some Alaskan spirit!
My FIRST TIME commenting on your channel. With that being said, I want you to know that this episode was just seamless…so smooth to watch (is that a thing?). You have a great talent for making the viewer feel immersed along with you in this journey. Kudos to you because that is not an easy thing to do. 😊 Take care, stay safe, and be healthy!
And......I am a 78 year old who travels with Tim every where he goes (in my imagination). I can only travel in my motorized wheelchair so traveling with Timmy is my wonderful entertainment. Thanks Tim . And now I have a new friend to follow.
What a wonderful trip in beautiful Alaska with fantastic friends. An epic adventure in spectacular scenery forging lifelong memories blessed in an entertaining video with fantastic music for us all to enjoy! Thank you for the message I got. "Get out and do it." It looks like a great experience!
This is my favorite channel on RUclips. Matt does absolutely wonderful photography and narration. But I’m constantly torn between thinking: Wow, that looks like fun and Wow, what makes anybody in the world think it’s fun freezing your butt off in all that snow?! At 71, I’m fascinated to watch you do it, Matt, and delighted I don’t have to do it myself.
What an adventure! I just love Timmy and all of his shenanigans. I found your channel about a month ago and am enjoying you as well. You fellas be safe.
I built a 2 story log cabin in the Yukon back in 1978, and this brought back fond memories. I now live in the big city but not a day goes by and I don't wish that I was back in the bush. It can be a difficult life, but the sense of freedom more than makes up for it. God bless you two and your adventures.
I love watching videos about Alaska!! I am 66 years old and I am a city slicker and I have to have a street sign to get around!! Y’all are quite impressive!! I will keep watching your videos ❤
I sit with my 18-month-old grandson Wilder on my lap watching your adventure thinking one day he too will have his own adventures, the will be Wild Adventures for sure.
Rae crying is a good thing. You deserve happiness just like everyone else. Sharing your thoughts and feelings is healing. I can’t wait for you to have more animals. Every day is a new adventure for you and Chad. Enjoy it. Today’s video was excellent!❤
I stumbled across both of your channels a couple of months ago, seemingly almost simultaneously and had no idea you were friends. Put a smile on my face :) watching both of your videos.
This video is absolutely sensational! What an incredible adventure. You guys both kill it, but this was especially awesome. Thank you, I’m sick as all heck laying in bed and this was just what I needed to pick the spirits up. Great work, man.
We have been watching yours and Tim's channel for a few months now and my wife and I were blown away when the two worlds collided..haha! We had no idea. So cool you guys are friends. Love your videos and thank you for sharing your adventures!
Just wanted to say I love your videos. Your (and your friends) love of adventure really shines through and makes me wanna get out there too. Love all the original music and the gorgeous nature shots. Cheers from NC.
I’m a Canadian dude sitting in my place in Berlin, Germany and have to tell you I love your channel and all the videos you make! Thank you for sharing these experiences and your music!
This was a FANTASTIC adventure guys ! This was by far the best video I've seen to date. I loved every minute of it , y'all had it really tough on the trail to the cabin having to clear all the downed trees that fell across the trail. I wish that you were able to go into McCarthy , I miss the place and haven't seen it in years.
My son (in his 30’s) and I go on a once a year Mom & Son trip. We both love the mountains so always make BC our destination as we live in Alberta, makes for a nice drive. This year we are taking a helicopter flight in the fall over the Rockys. I would love to do an overnight winter camp on another trip. I’m 61 and want to experience all I can now before my health dictates otherwise (I’m not sick just mindful of how life can change so fast). I especially want to do these things with my son to expose him to these beautiful experiences. Someday I hope to see Alaska with my own eyes and I thank you for giving me insight into Alaska. 👏🇨🇦
Took the McCarthy road on the way to a sheep hunt in 1978. Old memories. Thanks! BTW the trestle was a couple rough cut 4×12's side by side each side tire support. With a six by six if I remember right. Fastened to the outside of a 4×12. The garden rails. I see in another video that they now have a substantial enough planking for campers. The good old days! 75 this month. Probably never get back. 6 years living in Alaska and loads of wonderful times to remember! Thanks again for your video's!
You are correct, but it was International/Navistar I believe that supplied them to Ford. I heard a story that they hot tested them before they sent them to Ford. So they were factory tested very well. I have a hard time getting rid of my 2002 f250. I just drive it once a week to keep things working.
Dick Proenneke is one of my Heroes! Who built his 12x16 ft. cabin by hand himself. He was a man with great wisdom and knowledge about living in the Alaska Wilderness! Thank you for reading the history about the place! It is always fascinating to hear what it was like back then. Great video and the music was Awesome, especially the sound of the Mandolin !
There is nothing more precious in life than friendship. The way you guys kept your cool and worked through the hardships was inspiring. Thanks for a great video.
I live in Cinti Oh and I love both of your videos. I love the music in yours and find your videos very calming for some reason… I enjoy the adventure videos but I love the building videos u both do since I cannot build a thing!!! I hope to see many more videos… stay safe
ENJOYED YOUR DIFFERENT STYLE OF VIDEO AND NARRATION. WHAT A GREAT JOURNEY TO THE LAND BEYOND THE CABIN. UNTIL NEXT TIME WHEN YOU MAKE IT TO AND ACROSS THE GLACIER.
Best Ever. This winter here in CT has so far been seriously bogus. Reports from even Northern Minnesota do also confirm. Good to see you made it . I love winter camping . Solid team, with deep roots you are.
You guys rock thanks for the awesome video glad to see gold creek was finally busted without you being busted I'm on my way to Alaska right now looking forward to enjoying my new land there hope to meet you guys sometime
This is a good movie, love the music. I've wanted to live in Alaska since my late 20s, now since im almost 60 it looks very remote and I don't think I would like the cold and lack of sun.
What a great adventure and friendship. I watch both of your channels by accident. I love his truck camper and that's what drew me to his and your cabin build. Keep having such great adventures.
You are an AMAZING narrator, Ireally enjoyed this. Watched you & Tim on this trip on Tims channel also, but way different content narration, really enjoyed both. Tim is quite resourceful. BEAUTIFUL hat you are wearing.
Awesome ❤ about 40 years ago while out backpacking my buddy's put a couple bottles of Miller high life in the fire, they exploded like sticks of dinomite stay safe
🎵You can download the music from my channel here ➡www.alaskacabinadventures.com/music
I am a 70 year old grandmother and think both of you are awesome. Keep it going dudes❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂
I'm a 74 year old grandfather and could not agree more with you about these two men. Wonderful gents.
Same here !!!
72 year old Grandma 73 year old Grandpa…man we love these men, and watch Truck House Life all the time! Just found it! Whooee! Thanks guys for bringing this great fun to all us “older” folks!
Their demographics must be a few “old-ish” people ….70 years old myself. Loved the guys and their approach. Also loved the log book.
I'm a Grandmother too. I Love watching these types of channels because it reminds of my Daddy. It was a Dream of his. I miss him. This brings him to me somehow.
The worst part of this video, is that it ended.
Great job!
Didn't realize you guys had a history together. Probably even cooler now that you both have successful RUclips Channels!!
I'd take any of these backcountry problems over any city life problems. That's just how some of us are wired. We are a fam of 4 and considering a move from northern NY to Ak this summer.
I’m impressed Tim cleaned his front seat off so you had somewhere to sit in his truck. Thanks for a great video
I love how in alaska we have these amazing cabins all over for use by anyone and everyone leaves it in a better condition than they found it in.
People respect the history and amazing luxury of having a shelter in these far away places. The hard work and dedication of getting there and surviving drives the idea of respect and good will to others. Matt and Tim are the epitome of hard work, dedication and respect of these remote areas. they used to have many more until a large organization burned them to the ground about 10 years ago...
В Сибири то же самое.
Tim's channel is already a favorite and now yours is as well. Great video. ❤
I'm 72, and my adventure days have limits now; fewer and far between. This is a great way to adventure while sitting in my own warm cabin in the woods, and reminiscing about the 'good old days'. Thanks for taking me along!
That cabin is as old as me. I was born 9/3/1966. It is a 57-year-old cabin. She still looks pretty good!!! Age is just a number!!
Thank you so much for a great adventure. I lived it through you. What a great time. You both are blessed. Stay safe and warm till next time.
This Grandma loves Alaska adventure Love Both of your channels Be safe always ❤
lol I watch you both. At one point you tease him about your video being the better one. I watched both and you were right. I do love both yours and Tim's work, thank you.
Agreed love them both in their own ways
I think its because he narrates it a bit better as far as telling a story. But I did enjoy Tim's quite a bit aswell.
Super enjoyable. Your story telling, filming and soundtrack is top notch. Thanks for sharing it all. Safe journeys. ❄️🤙
JOINED YOU FROM TRUCK HOUSE LIFE

This is so much better than the ASMR videos for me. Thank you for your efforts
When your saw is that cold, you have to keep it idled high until the carb warms.
Other than your old gurl being a bit cold. She was just fine
I really like your style of story-telling. You're easy to listen to.

Awesome adventure!! The 47 minutes went by in a flash-can hardly wait for the next video 😊
The curse of Nugget Creek struck again but you guys handled it like champs. I love your Collab videos
i watched Tim's video last night and I'm watching yours tonight. And, I joined your channel for other epic adventures!!!

5 minutes in and I'm exhausted while relaxing in my chair... Love the caution you worked with and secured your dogs, well done.

Yup I watched it already on Timmy's channel but hey I watched it again, good times.
This video is epic 🇨🇦
Hehe I guess that's why you were the first here this year, people assumed there was too little snow to be worth the trip.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video! It reminded me of the reckless abandon of my youth, determined to accomplish a goal.
Glad that you have a pew pew with you as well. You never know when needed, especially in the wild.
As if anyone would be dumb enough to do that without protection, duh !!!
I watch both channels.
Cheers for taking us with you! The amount of work shooting and editing this is a feat!!! Thank you!
You're Welcome!
I went up with Tim and came back with you. Thanks to the both of you I had fun
